5) Getting to know you better
Feeling the rays of sun coming through the curtains, I slowly open my eyes. The light blinds me so I blink a couple of times to adjust my eyes to the light. Turning to my side, I see that Leo is also awake. We both get out of bed and stretch our backs.
"Thanks for listening to my blabbering last night.", I say.
"No problem. But I still expect you will tell me who is the girl you like, before you start dating her."
"Yeah, yeah, of course. I'll tell you."
"Let's go downstairs. I'm hungry."
"Me too."
Going down, we meet Leo's mom who greets us with a plate of pancakes for each.
"How did you sleep?", she asks us.
"I slept well."
"I also slept well, mom. What about you?"
"I slept well, too."
A few hours later, I bid my goodbyes to go home as Sunday was family day, when we watch movies and sometimes play different games.

(A week later)
It is Friday, finally. The weekend is getting closer and closer. I still can't believe that last week, I was introduced to Diana. By my sister. It is really amazing. But then I think how much we talked then... Nothing. But, I want to change that today.
When it is time for the lunch break, Diana comes over to our class. We sit down at a table. I am on one side with Leo next to me, while Diana and Sarah sit opposite of us.
As everyone is eating quietly, I decide to break the silence.
"So... Diana. What are your hobbies?"
"Well. I like to read books and listen to music."
"Oh really. What kind of books do you like reading?"
"Romance and crime & mistery."
"Oh, really. I also like crime & mistery books."
"She is a wonderful photographer as well.", said Sarah.
"Really?"
"Yeah, but they are not really wonderful, just good. It's just a hobby."
"Interesting. Do you do some sports?"
"I do some exercises at home and I also like playing basketball, but I am not very good at it. I would like to learn more about it, some day."
"Oh, Darwin. You were always saying that you are the best at basketball. I think this might be a good chance for the both of you: Diana can learn, while you can find out if you really are the best. And at the end of the training, we find out if you really are as good as you claim to be. "
"Being good at playing basketball, doesn't mean that I am also good at teaching it."
"Well... You can either teach Diana how to play or -"
"Or what?"
"You acknowledge that you aren't the best player."
"Fine. I'll teach her because I am a good person. But how will you figure out if she is good at playing or not?"
"We'll have a competition, one month from now, and see then."
"Okay. Deal. Diana, are you free tomorrow so that we can start practicing?"
"Yes, okay."
---------
Waking up, I realize that today is Saturday, the day I teach Diana basketball. It is one of the few days I am actually happy that I learned how to play basketball and one of the few days when I wake up feeling refreshed, with a smile on my face and joy in my soul. Getting up, I head in the bathroom to take a shower and to brush my teeth. I then grab a gym suit and head downstairs to greet my mom and to take an apple which I put in my bag, together with my phone and my wallet.
"Mom. Do you know where the basketball ball is?"
"It should be in the garage. Why?"
"I am going to teach Diana how to play basketball. Did I forget to tell you?"
"Maybe. Or maybe I just forgot. Have fun and be careful about cars."
"Thanks. Bye."
"Bye."
---------
After 20 minutes I arrive at the basketball field in front of the school I attend. Five minutes later, Diana also arrives.
"Hey.", says Diana.
"Hey. Ready for basketball?"
"Yes."
"I'll first explain how many points you get based on how far apart you are when you throw the ball and make a basket. Usually when you score, you get two points. If you are outside of the three-point arc, you get three points, while a free throw gets you one point. A free throw is awarded involving the number of fouls comitted in a half and the type of foul committed. A foul is if you hit, push, slap or hold a player. You also can't walk with a ball, you can't carry it and you can't dribble it with both hands at the same time. Did you understand till here? You will understand better when you play, of course."
"Yes, I did. It's not that hard."
"Good. And now I'll teach you how to shoot. First, we will shoot standing still, and then we'll dribble and shoot. So, first, are you right-handed or left-handed?"
"Left-handed."
"Ok. So you will hold the ball in your left hand, while your hand is in front of your eyes, and I'll hold it with my right, as I'm right-handed. The other hand, you put on top of the ball to hold it in place. You then stretch your hand a bit, and shoot while making your hand form an arc. Here, I'll show."
I shoot the ball and score. Diana starts applauding, this making me feel happier.
"Now, you try. Put the ball on your left hand, put the right one on top of the ball and then shoot. Good. You did good and you understood what you have to do, even though you didn't score. Try a few times more and then we'll start with dribbling. How do you like it this far?"
"I like it. I also watched a few basketball games on TV, but it is not the same as playing."
"I'm happy that you like it. Now, let's start dribbling. So you dribble like this, then you stop and shoot as we did before. It's not that hard."
"It's not hard. It's actually funny and easy.", Diana says, smilling.
Seeing her smile, makes me smile as well. After she tries dribbling, we start playing. I score a couple times, but Diana also scores once, getting two points. While trying to take the ball from her, I notice the bracelet she wears, starting to glow? I look a bit more at the bracelet, but I figure out that it was just the sun. Diana takes this opportunity and scores again. I congratulate her and suggest going somewhere to eat. She agrees. We decide to eat at a fast-food place, each ordering a burger. After we finish eating, I pay and then we say our goodbyes.
