I met Sammy when I was 11. She had long legs that helped her destroy me at running, a sarcastic attitude that led me to being so mad at her I wouldn't talk to her for weeks, and a loyal mindset that you can't overlook! I had just moved to Cali when my father died. Everyday after that I walked aimlessly around the block try to forget. One day I had gotten a tag along. I heard her footsteps before I seen her. It was 10 at night when I was out, but I didn't even care about my own well being. The second thing I noticed was the way that this "mysterious being" walked. They almost shuffled like they wanted to let me know they were there. In my "11" year old mind I ran questions through like " What kind of idiot shuffles?And What on earth are they trying to accomplish sounding like that?" I picked up my pase and sure enough they did too! I started jogging and that turned into a run and that turned into a sprint! I could here the person gaining on me like some kinda bullet (cause 11 year old boys think they can never be out ran:) When I Finnaly got the courage to look back I seen only the looming of trees, for I was headed to the cement!

When I finnaly came round I seen a lanky, beautiful, girl, standing over me with very concerned eyes. The first thing that I said to her, she never did forget!(nor dropped) " Am I in heaven?" I asked slightly confused. Out of her mouth came the most obnoxious (yet adorable) laugh I had ever heard! "Do you always flirt with what most would consider a stalker?" She snorts. I puff my chest and said in my most manliest voice I could muster and say "No I just figured if you said yes I knew you would be lying because they only allow pretty things to be in heaven!" She smiled and then started to laugh. "What's so funny?" I demanded. "Ohhh it's just that NORMALLY I don't find boys as attractive and manly as you! She coos. "EWWW get off of me you wierdo!" I whine. She smiles and extends her hand. "Well hi I'm Sammy!" I eye her suspiciously, but slowly extend my hand "Max." I say "Well Max it was nice to meet you, and your SLOWWW run!" She yells as she sprints away. I sigh and for the first time since my dad's death I smile a truly genuine smile!
