Chapter 6: Who Killed Brooke?
The three of them stood quietly in the middle of the park, Celena looked at Roman in disbelief while Peter scoffs at him.
"I didn't kill her. I figured it was you."
"Me? Why would I do it?" Roman glares at Peter in offense.
"Why would I?" Peter argues.
"People are saying you're a werewolf." Roman states.
Celena crosses her arms over her chest, "I guess you're the type to believe in rumors, huh?" She smirks, repeating his words. "Do you believe every rumor you hear?"
Roman frowns at her, literally regretting his words, but he doesn't show it. He was starting to get frustrated at himself for following his instincts, but it still felt like he needs to be here.
"Then why are we here?" Roman asks, he felt that he deserves answers for what he was feeling. But, he didn't know how to ask.
"When listening to all those people, you ever hear of a coincidence?" Peter asks sarcastically.
"Are you sure it wasn't you?" Roman asks, demanding a straight answer.
"You could try to contain your disappointment." Celena frowns and scoffs at him.
Roman grumbles, "Then who was it?" He asks in frustration.
"Bear? Cougar? Creative suicide?" Peter suggests using sarcasm.
Celena waves off Peter, "Ok! Enough with the pissing contest." She turns to Roman, "We know as much as the whole town knows. We were hoping to come here to....find some sort of evidence that could help the community." She says sarcastically, then gives Roman a serious look. "Mainly, to get them off Peter and my brother."
Roman sighs, now that sounded like the answer he needed to hear. He knew that the school was talking about Peter possibly being the killer and there were whispers about Celena's brother. But, people were also talking about how it could be his sister, too. Last thing he wanted was her sister involved in something that could endanger her. He could relate to how she was protecting her brother. He would do the same to clear he name.
He looks over his shoulder, over towards the little play house where they found Brooke.
"It's weird. I knew her. I mean, I didn't know her know her, but...but to see her; parties and stuff. She liked my car." Roman stutters.
Peter shrugs, "It's a nice car."
Celena rolls her eyes, "Men and their toys." She mutters softly, but Peter caught it and snickers, then grunts when she smacks his chest. "Why are you here?" She speaks up to Roman.
Roman rubs his nose and sniffs, "I don't know. I just had a feeling." He clears his throat. He looks over to Peter and starts to think about how he met Vince, "I also knew your uncle. Vince. He did some kind of work for my mom. She denies it, but she's so full of shit. I liked his stories. The girls would get pretty freaked out, but girls, you know?" He laughs a little.
Peter smirks, but Celena wasn't laughing. She kinda glares and arches a brow at him. Roman still smirks, thinking how cute Celena looked when she's mad. He snaps out of his thoughts when Peter speaks up.
"Yeah, that sounds like Vince." Peter chuckles.
Roman frowns as he begins to be curious about one thing, "What's it like? Living like, you know, you people." He asks.
Peter sighs and looks up into the sky, "I guess there's always something over the hill I gotta see." He mutters to his ancestors, then turns to face Roman, ignoring his question, "What's the story of your sister?" He asks.
Celena throws her hand up in disbelief, "Peter. That's so rude." But, she sighs and turns to Roman, "I gotta admit though, I am curious. But, I would have asked in a nicer way." She glares at Peter.
But, before Peter argues, the sound of a car driving up and police sire blare made him step back in caution.
"Shit!" He exclaims.
He was about to run for it, but Roman stops him. Holding up his hand in reassurance.
"It's cool. It's cool. Don't run. Don't run.". He says, trying to calm them both down. He knew he can send them away. Guess he'll have to show them his own little secret. So, he walks closer to the deputies so they could see who he was as they exit the patrol car.
They two deputies walk up towards the three of them, shinning their flashlight, "It's that Godfrey kid." One deputy says in annoyance.
"You know, it's a school night." The fat deputy says.
"I'm a night owl." Roman smirks.
"What the hell are you doing here?" The buck-toothed deputy asks, shining his flashlight in Roman's face.
"Am I disturbing anyone, officer?" Roman asks smartly, wincing at the bright light blinding his sight.
"You mean other than a dead girl's murder site?" The buck-toothed deputy asks, sarcastically. Fed up with Roman's remarks, in fact, he's fed up with the entire Godfrey family.
"So who's that with you, huh?" The fat deputy shines is light on Peter and Celena. Celena winces at the bright light and holds up a hand to block it out.
"It's that punk gypsy. And his little whore." The fat cop remarks.
Peter growls lowly at the comment. Offended that they called Celena a whore, when she's far from that. Roman glares at the cop, that word pissed him off. But, he frowns at himself, why was he pissed? He never cared if he heard someone call some chick a whore or slut or whatever. But, when the cop offended Celena, he felt possessive.
"Now, what could you three little birdies possibly be hatching out here that we might look upon favorably? Too formal for a sick three-some. Hey, honey, how much do you charge by the hour?" The buck-toothed deputy laughs, but the fat one rolls his eyes and glares at Roman.
"We were having a conversation." Roman grits his teeth.
"About what?" The fat deputy scoffs.
"The mysteries of mortality." Roman smirks with his smart ass remark.
That's it, the Buck-toothed deputy has had enough, "OK, come on, let's go." He reaches to grab Roman, but Roman snaps his face sharply to the deputy and stares deeply into his eyes, trapping him with his intense glare.
"But my old lady's gonna be a pain in the balls." Roman says as he keeps the deputy in his stare, watching him fall into his eyes. Roman's voice echoing in the deputy's head. The fat deputy watches in confusion while Peter and Celena watches in curiosity.
"You know, on second thought, his old lady's gonna be...a pain in the balls." The buck-toothed deputy's voice sounded hypnotized. He just repeated Roman's words. As if they were his own words.
"What?" The fat deputy was utterly confused with the whole scene.
Roman takes his gaze off the buck-toothed deputy for one second to look at the fat deputy, "It's true."
"It's true." The buck-toothed deputy repeats as Roman looks at him again, then turns to get back into the patrol car.
"Spooky fucker." The fat deputy frowns and mutters at Roman before joining his partner in the car and drives off.
Roman smirks and turns back to Celena and Peter, "How'd you do that?" Peter asks.
"Do what?" Roman asks, still smirking, but, suddenly, his nose begins to bleed and Roman catches it with his fingers, and grabs a tissue.
Peter didn't need to ask, he already knew how Roman made the cops turn away. Mind-control is one of the common powers a Upir carries. He needed to get Celena out of here and in case more cops decide to make another patrol around the park.
Roman holds the cloth against his nose, but frowns when he watches Peter walk off with Celena. He wasn't done with them, he needed more answers, but he guesses they'll have to wait.
"Was that a Upir thing?" Celena whispers as they walk away.
Peter nods, "Yeah. That was definitely a Upir thing." He guides her to walk closer and faster away from the park. He wanted to get her away, to be safe.

^^^^^Viktor's outfit for the day
After a while, the rumors still continues to grow and Peter was caught in the middle. Viktor's accusation was thrown out for now, and people were more focused on Peter since he was a gypsy and Viktor wasn't. Speaking of Viktor, he was helping out the latest remodel at the Hemlock Grove Country Club for the new tennis court. During his lunch break after cleaning up, he saw, from afar, Shelley dinning outside with her brother, Roman, and a middle-aged woman. A very beautiful model-like woman. Viktor could hear people whispering, about the Godfreys. 'So, that woman is their mother'. Viktor thought. He decides to get a closer table, so he could introduce himself.
Shelley looks over her shoulder discreetly and see Viktor, he gives her small wave and she sends him a big smile, and looks away, not daring to be caught by her mother. Fearing what she might do. So, she continues to look through the menu and decides to finally stand up to her mother. It's a small thing, but she must be more brave. She points towards the salad part of the menu and Jenny, the waitress and Shelley's best friend whom she has known for so long, catches it.
"Is that what you want, honey? Salad?" She asks gently with a smile.
Shelley nods, but Olivia protests with a polite smile, "No, no. Her usual will be quite satisfactory."
Shelley was growing restless with her mother's constant control of her life, even with what she eats. All she has fed her through her life was meat, meat, meat. She wanted to be healthy. She wanted to try new things. And she wasn't going to let her mother stop her from exploring. She aggressively points at the salad menu, watching her mother frown in disappointment, but Shelley stood her ground.
"Darling, you must eat your meat." Olivia says, gently with a smile.
Viktor chokes on a his water, when he hears Roman make a smart ass remark about another type of 'eating'. Viktor looks over his shoulder and sees how angry that made their mother. But, Jenny and Roman shared a flirtatious smirk. He rolled his eyes at the sight. Once a player, always a player, he guesses. He knew Roman was flirting with Celena from time to time, to piss her off, but it bothered Viktor that he's playing with his best friends feelings if he's messing around with the waitress and more woman while trying to get into Celena's pants at the same time.
"Oh, now, she's just thinking about her figure. All those cute boys in high school." Jenny tries to lighten the mood and rubs Shelley's back while giving her a smile.
But, it looked liked Olivia didn't like hearing that, "Her usual will be quite satisfactory." She sends Jenny a cold glare, but jumps in fright when Shelley pounds her first in protest against the table.
Viktor frowns in concern when he watches Shelley glares, but begins to tear up in frustration. Roman grabs a napkin and gently wipes away her tears for her. Being the loving brother and looking good for Jenny. But, it managed to get Olivia to cave in and let her daughter eat whatever she wanted. He decides it wasn't the best time for him to introduce himself.
After lunch, Shelley and Roman headed home with their mother. Shelley was so proud of herself for standing up to her mother, she had to share the news with her Uncle Norman, for he, as a psychologist, has been encouraging her to be more brave. Especially, against Olivia.
Shelley places her purse on her bed, but frowns when she finds a single flower in her purse. A beautiful daisy. She remembers from the country club at the dinning areas outside, daisies growing around gardens. A note was attached to the daisy. All it said was 'V' with a heart. Shelley smiles big and giggles as she blushes. Viktor. It had to be Viktor. She rushes to her computer and prepares the email after she places the daisy in a small vase with water.
"Dearest Uncle, Time again for you to indulge my prattle, though I suppose I address you as 'Doctor' here, as this correspondence was your professional recommendation. Now, what's happened since I last wrote? You'd be so proud of me, Uncle. I followed your advice and asserted myself to mother. Today at the club, we attended to our usual weekend luncheons and I decided right there to order for myself. Mother, of course, forbidden any change of my routine. To which Roman made an off-colored remark. Jenny, my most favorite of the staff, with whom he regularly engages in light flirtation, hid a smirk. Mother was cross. I am more than some living marionette who will dance at the pull of her strings. As you said, I am an intelligent, autonomous individual with valid desires. And though mother was correct-- my stomach was rumbling its second guess before we got home-- I believe your niece earned some small measure of-- dare she say it?--respect. Otherwise, I'm finding the transition to high school genial enough. Of course, tensions remain over the tragedy weeks ago. Both within the school and without. Answering violence with violence. But the attack, it would appear, was an isolated one. The gypsy boy I referred to continues to favor me with his charms. The kids at the school say he is a werewolf-- a comment, I assume, on the boy's admittedly excessive body hair. I do hope he was not involved in the incident at Kilderry Park. Also, my friendship with the girl, Celena, continues to grow. Besides Jenny, Celena has become a new person I can trust. Especially, her brother, Viktor. You know as well as I do, Uncle, that if mother ever found out about my involvement with him, she'll possibly try all in her power to make sure he'll never have any sort of life. I trust you to not pass on any information about Viktor to mother. Until, the time is right. Of course, if I am to live with the decision, I suppose I ought to take care with questions to which I may prefer not to know the answers.
Yours always.
S.G.
Shelley smirks to herself and sends off the email to her Uncle. She sighs softly and smiles at the daisy. Never have anyone ever given her flowers. Nor has anyone ever gave the hint of attraction towards her. Shelley almost couldn't believe it, but...just maybe, someone out there could love her.

^^^^ Celena's outfit for the day
Another school day, another boring class. Roman sighs in boredom as he doodles in class. Mostly of skulls, bones, and snakes. Preferably, the ouroboros. The teacher sat at is desk as he lets the students study or whatever they wanted to do. Roman rests his chin against his knuckles as he keeps on doodling. The class wasn't even nearly done, and Roman was restless. And horny. He looks around the room and scans for some fun. His first thought was Celena. He looks over to where she was and scans her body. He swears no other woman could turn him on as fast as she could. It frustrated him as well. Since, she continues to refuse him, he might have to take drastic measures. He eyes another girl not too far, wearing a very sexy dress. Dark hair, tanned skin. It's strange how that doesn't turn him on that much anymore, but picturing Celena in a sexy dress helps. Though another strange thing he noticed, it was that time of the month for the girl. In her purse, he spies a tampon. That meant blood. For as long as he can remember, blood was always a big turn on for him during sex. His c**k continues to grow hard in his pants, pressing against the zipper. It was driving him insane. When the girl raises her hand to go use the ladies room, Roman holds up his hand to do the same.
Celena, Matt, and Peter exited their classes and brushed passed the ladies room, but stopped at the sound of erotic moaning and panting. Peter points at the ladies room and listens in. His eyes widen as he listens. Celena and Matt couldn't help but, be curious.
"Right there. Right there." A girl moans in pleasure as she was holding on to the bathroom stall while Roman continues to eat out her wet, bloody pu**y. He loses his grip and catches himself, smearing a bloody handprint on the floor. He imagines it was Celena he was eating. It was causing him to lose control.
Celena gasps and covers her mouth to silent the laughter escaping her lips as she hears a man moan loudly and grunts in embarrassment.
"Did he just...?" She snorts in disbelief.
"I think he did." Peter snickers.
As the three of them were distracted with the heavy moaning, Letha Godfrey, Roman's cousin, slows her steps and watches them in disbelief.
Matt snickers, but is startled at the sight of Letha and catches Celena's and Peter's attention.
"Ummm, Uh this is..." Matt stutters and chuckles nervously, "This is exactly what it looks like." He says. Celena snickers.
Letha lifts her brows in amusement, but didn't want to know what was going on. She guesses it was Roman again in the girl's bathroom. So, she continues to her next class. But, looks over her shoulder at Matt, eyeing him in curiosity. And Peter, too.
"Attention students. The following announcement is from Miss Fletcher. In lieu of the Bluebell killing, a list of non-acceptable costumes will be listed on the bulletin board. Any student not complying will not be permitted to tonight's dance. Also, there will be a small police presence. This is only a precaution, but I warn you that students attempting to sneak off the school premises cannot be taken lightly."
The P.A. blared with the afternoon announcement. Celena almost forgot it was the homecoming dance tonight. It wasn't her cup of tea, but she always loved Halloween. Peter has already told her that he wasn't going. It's understandable. With the way things are lately, it's best to avoid any public events.
