DALE FYRON'S POV

" I came here first, you should wait for your turn." I heard Shin hissed inside Katria's house.

" What the heck! I'm the most handsome guy in the world so you should entertain me first." Cohen said arrogantly.

I entered their house with a love letter on my hand and a guitar."Excuse me. I think you two should get out of my way because she's going to entertain me first before you." I looked at them seriously and turned my gaze on Kat.

I smiled as I gave her my letter and her face lightened when she realized what is it. I pulled her wrist gently and motioned her to sit on their sofa. The two just crossed their arms with irritation on their face. I sat beside her and put my guitar on my lap. I started strumming it, practicing the chorus.

" Walang kapatiran dito, kuya. Parehas lang tayong manliligaw niya kaya matuto kang pumila." Cohen glared at me but I just rolled my eyes. So what?!

" Just shut up, dude. It's my way on courting her so you're out of it." I answered without looking at him.

" But it's unfair. We arrived here first so you must do it right after we're done." That Shin interrupted.

" Whatever. I'll surely win so just back out." Tiningnan ko siya na para bang sigurado na ako sa sinabi ko.

" Are you going to sing a song for me?." She suddenly asked with an amused reaction. She's so cute.

" Hmmm. It's just a chorus, though. We won't take too long since we still have classes to attend." I answered smilingly." Just listen. I'm not that good in singing so don't judge me." I heard her chuckled. It's music to my ears.

I strummed my guitar again and feel the song." Beautiful girls, all over the world. I could be chasin' but my time would be wasted. They got nothing on you, baby. Uh.. Uh... nothing on you, baby." I looked at her and I saw her faced turns to red. Pffttt. She's blushing.

" They must say, hi and I might say hey. But you shouldn't worry about what they say. Cause they got nothin' on you, baby. Nothing on you baby." I finished strumming the guitar and smiled at her. She bit her lower lip, avoiding to smile.

" How was it?." I smirked as I asked her.

She immediately looked away."I-It's... uhh great. You have a nice voice. I like it."

" If you like my voice then how about me?." I pursed my lips to avoid smiling. Shit.

" Ugh. Cut that crap! Kami naman ang asikasuhin mo, Kat. Hindi porket mahal mo si kuya, magpapadala kana sa kanya. We court you first, just to let you remember."

My brows frowned because I'm irritated on Cohen's voice. I forgot, they're still here. What should I do to make them stop courting her?! She's only mine. Fuck it.

" Hindi naman sa nagpapadala ako sa kanya." She stood up on the sofa and faced them." But I love the way he courted me. He did some efforts for it. You know?." she added that made me hide my smile.

" What? Just because of one letter and a little song? I don't understand." Shin shook his head.

She let out a sigh." Sa probinsya kase namin, ang pamamaraan ng panliligaw ay ang pagharana sa'ming mga babae at pagbibigay ng mga sulat-kamay. How I wished that I could experience it and I didn't expect that Daron would do it. But don't worry, I still appreciate the way you court me. Why wouldn't I? You made the best that you can."

Thanks to my little bro, he told me about this. Now, I have a big chance that I could win over them. All I have to do is to make her fall inlove with me, and I'm surely sure that I'll get her sweetest 'yes'.

For now, I have to talk to Cheska about it. I still didn't know how to say it but I'll try my best. I just hope that she won't get mad or even angry on me. If ever that Ivan would punch me, I'll accept it. Kasalanan ko rin naman dahil bago pa lang naging kami ulit ay hiniwalayan kona siya. But I know he'll going to catch her. I have a big possibility that she loves him and not me. Cheska was right. What we had was just an infatuation.

" Hi, Fyron." Cheska appeared in front of me. I told her to meet me in the garden." Are we gonna talk about..... us? If there is?." She asked directly and sat beside me.

I let out a sigh and nodded." I'm sorry if I couldn't give you time. I was just doubting on my situation in this past few days. If I still love you or.... I already love someone else."

She put her hand on my shoulder."It's okay, no need to say sorry. It wasn't just you, I'm also included in it. I just found out that what I'm feeling for you wasn't love anymore.... because I'm loving someone else." She bowed her head a little bit.

Kahit na sinasabi namin ito sa isa't-isa, walang halong galit at hinanakit. Seems like we both have a casual conversation to each other. It's because we both know in ourselves that weren't meant for each other. That we found the right person for us.

" Is it okay if we broke up? I just realized that we shouldn't force ourselves together even if weren't really happy on each other. I found the girl I really love and you found yours. Why won't we set each other free." I looked at her with pleading eyes. Hoping that she would agree on my decision.

She suddenly smiled, a real smile to be exact." Of course. I was just trying to be with you again because I missed you. But I already know that it won't last long and we could find someone that suits for us. At first, I thought we could get back the DaChes couple before but then I was wrong. I didn't expect that we would fell out of love on each other."

I also smiled when I heard those words from her." Seems like destiny was making a way for us to find them. You didn't expect that you'll fall inlove with your fiancee, don't you?." I smirked.

" Y-Yeah. I felt jealous whenever he's with the other girls, especially his partner on their subject. Hmp. Why does it need to be a girl if it could be a guy. Tapos dadalhin niya pa sa bahay namin. I hate it." I saw irritation on her expression that made me chuckled.

" Just tell him if you're jealous. Maybe he wasn't aware what you're feeling on him. Like what you said before, you just treat him as a friend. He heard it loud and clear. Try to confess your feelings to him, like what I did." I said and wandered my eyes everywhere.

" Oh my gosh!." I looked at her and she was covering her mouth with her hands." Y-You did that to Katria? Geez. You've really grown up, Fyron. But I don't know how to confess to Ivan.  I-I'm shy." she added.

" Just tell him directly, I know he would be happy. Knowing that the girl he loves the most confessed to him. Did you ever imagine his reaction?." I smiled when I saw Kate walking in hallway. She's busy reading the papers she was holding.

" Fine. I'll do it, later." She let out a deep sigh." Wait. Is that Kat? Gosh! It's really her. I think you should go with her, no one's bugging with her so it's your chance. Go, Fyron. Goodluck." She gave me a sweet smile and nodded.

I stood up on the bleachers and started to walk away but I forgot to ask her something so I turned my back on her, again." So, does it mean we're now officially done? No hard feelings?."

" Yeah, promise. No hard feelings." She crossed her fingers and smiled again.

" Hey, Katria."

" Ay puting kabayo!." She looked at me and then glared." What's with you, Daron?! Bakit ka ba nanggugulat, ha?! You're going to kill me." She picked up the papers that scattered on the ground, she suddenly fell it on the ground because of surprise.

" Kill you with love." I helped her to get her papers and I also get the papers on her hand." Where are you going to take this? I'll accompany you since I don't have something to do." I said and looked at her willingly.

" Sa stock room lang, kinikilabutan nga akong bumalik dun dahil naaalala ko yung nangyari sa'kin. I don't even know who did it until now." Seems like she's nervous."Saan ka ba galing? Sinong kasama mo dun?." She asked, probably changing the topic.

" Don't worry, if you're going to be locked up again. Atleast I'm with you, right?." I smirked." I'm in the garden earlier with Cheska. We end up our relationship."

She was shocked and stopped walking." Ha?! Hindi ba siya nagalit o umiyak? Baka nagtatam----."

" Chill, she's not." I chuckled and started walking again, she following me on my back." She's okay with it, we're still friends though. And one thing, she's going to confess her feelings to Ivan. Hope it would succeed." I added.

" Really? We'll that's great. Hindi na nakabugsangot yung mukha ni Ivan kapag nakikita ko siya." She's smiling that made my brows frowned.

" Are you seeing each other?."

She raised her eyebrow." What? Ano naman kung magkikita kami. We're friends."

" I don't want to see you with other guys again, Katria. Even though weren't together, still you'll gonna end with me for sure. So from now on, take a distance from them or else I'll suspend them for a week." I sounded like I was scolding her.

Her eyes widened." Are you crazy, Daron?! Pa'no kung may project kami by partner tapos lalaki yung partner ko, anong gagawin mo?." She sounded nervous.

" I'll be with you for the whole time to watch over you." walang gana kong sagot.

" What about my suitors? Si Cohen, kapatid mo 'yun diba?."

I walked faster so she got a problem on reaching me." I don't care. You're mine so better do what I said." I suddenly turned around that made me kissed her. It was just an accident but we didn't separated our lips. We're just staring at each others eyes without blinking.

" Jusmeyo! Bakit dito pa kayo naghahalikan?! My goodness!."

Agad naman kami humiwalay ng marinig ang boses ni Mrs. Dismal. She's one of my subject teachers. She was shocked while moving her eyes to Katria and I before walking away and murmuring something.

" It's your fault!." She hit me that made me groan." Nakakadalawa kana sa'kin, ah. Hindi ka ba nahihiya na nakita tayo ni maam?!." she hissed.

I just rolled my eyes and opened the stock room. It wasn't locked because the principal let this room to be unrestricted. I insisted to put those papers on the other corner and after that I turned around and get back outside of the room.
I saw her typing on her phone and she didn't noticed me beside her. She's chatting with Aira and they were talking about the singing contest this Friday. It was two days from now and Raizer was practicing piano because he's going to be one of the boybands who'll play on stage.

" Ha?! Ba't naman ako sasali dun?! I don't have a nice voice." she whispered, still looking at her phone.

" You have, it's just that you're afraid of the people around you. I heard you performed on the mall, you're with you friends. Even though you're wearing a cap and a mask, I still recognized you on your eyes. You should try to sing in front of everyone, I'll be your number one supporter."

She slipped her phone on her hands and good thing I catched it."Kainis! Bakit mo ba ako ginugulat palagi, ha?! You're not telling if your around." naiinis niyang sambit.

" I'm sorry. You're focused on chatting with your friend so you didn't noticed me." I apologized.

She let out a sigh." 'Wag na, mapapahiya lang ako. I always felt like I'll fail whenever I think that I'm going to perform in front of everyone. Kinakabahan ako kapag nakatayo sa harap ng maraming tao kaya bumababa ang tiwala ko sa sarili ko."

I raised her chin so that I could look at her eyes." Don't be, you're friends believed on you and so am I. Forget those people around you and just think about what you're going to do. I'm sure you could do it."

" Thank you for boosting up my confidence. You made me feel comfortable." She smiled at me and so I did." Pero hindi pwedeng ako lang ang sumali. Aira told me that it should be a solo performance or duet. We should sing together, what do you think?." She gave me a puppy eyes that made me looked away. Damn. She's so cute.

" Uh... I-I don't think it's a good idea. Singing is not really my thi----."

" Oh shut up! You said you're going to do anything for me, and that's it. Kung ayaw mo edi 'wag, pwede naman si Shin o di kaya'y si Co----."

" Fine. Fine. I agree." I let out a sigh." For you I'm willing to do anything. Just don't participate with Shin nor my brother. It's just making me jealous." I pouted because of irritation.

She chuckled." It's the first time you did that cute thing. You look like a baby."

" Your baby." I corrected that made her turned her back on me. I saw how she hid her smile and all I could do is to bit my lower lip. Hindi naman siguro ako bakla kapag sinabi kong kinikilig ako, diba?

" Soon."

My brows frowned when I heard her say something but I didn't heard it clearly so I was confused. What did she say?! Hindi ko masyadong narinig dahil halos ibulong niya lang yung sinabi niya.

KATE CHANDRIA'S POV

" Ano bang kakantahin natin? Yung pang-duet sana." sambit ko habang pinaglalaruan yung kamay ko sa desk.

Nilagay niya naman yung kamay niya sa labi niya na para bang nag-iisip." I don't know. Just think of some songs you like."

Napairap naman ako. Akala ko pa naman may suggestion na siya kung ano, ako parin pala ang magd-desisyon. Aish. Tahimik naman dito sa library kaso wala parin akong maisip kung ano. Magtanong-tanong kaya ako sa mga kaibigan ko, baka may alam sila. Para naman hindi na dumugo ang utak ko sa kakaisip kung anong kakantahin namin sa biyernes. Kapag ako talaga inamag hindi talaga ako sasali.

" Where are you going?." tanong niya sa'kin nang bigla akong tumayo.

" Pupuntahan ko yung mga kaibigan ko. I'll ask for some song suggestions, maybe they would help. Sama kana." Pagkasabi ko nun ay agad naman siya tumayo at sumunod sa'kin.

" Katria!." Agad nanlaki ang mata ko ng bigla akong yakapin ni Shin, yung mga kaibigan ko naman nakanganga." Where did you came from? Kanina pa kita hinahanap." dagdag niya pa.

" Ah.... dun lang sa lib----."

" She's with me for the whole time." Bigla akong hinila ni Daron at hinawakan ng mahigpit.

Napatingin naman silang lahat sa'kin at ngumisi." We just talk about the singing contest this coming Friday. We're planning to have a duet but unfortunately, we haven't chosen a song." saad ko dahil alam kong iba ang iniisip nila.

" So, you want us to suggest you a song?." tanong ni Jamie.

Tumango naman ako." Exactly. Dali na, yung duet ah." Umupo ako sa teachers table dahil vacant naman kami ngayon at walang makakakita na umupo ako sa table ni maam. Ewan ko kung nasa'n na yung iba naming mga kaklase.

" Paubaya." Tinanguan naman ako ni Phillip.

" Lol! Halatang bitter ka, pare." Napailing naman si Jeric." Baka Di Tayo, 'yan maganda." Nag-thumbs up pa siya sa'kin.

" Ano ba 'yan, pare. Anong akala mo sa kanila naghiwalay?! Pang-heartbreak ang kantang 'yan eh." Binatukan pa ni Christophe si Jeric." Beautiful In White, theme song 'yan ng parents ko." Tinaas baba niya pa ang kilay niya kaya napangiwi ako.

" Gago!. Hindi namam sila ikakasal." Kinurot siya ni Doreen sa tagiliran kaya napahiyaw siya."Ano nalang, You've Got A Friend." sabi niya pa.

Siniko naman siya ni Aika."Pinapalabas mo naman na hanggang kaibigan lang si Daron sa kanya. Etong kantahin niyo, We Are The World."

Napangiwi naman kami sa sinabi niya." Mas malala ka pa pala sa kanila, twinny." komento naman ni Aira." You should sing this, I'll always love you."

" Uh.... They're not yet a couple so it won't fit for them." Ngumuso naman si Lucy." I'll recommend you a song but be sure to sing this, Ikaw At Ako by Moira Dela Torre and Jason Hernandez. Duet 'yun kaya bagay na bagay na kantahin niyo." She smile on us.

" Sige, mukhang maganda nga 'yun. I agree with Lucy." dagdag pa ni Shin at ngumiti. Akala ko nagtatampo siya dahil hindi siya yung pinili kong ka-duet sa kanta.

Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Daron na para bang nag-uusap sa mata. Nakacross-arms lang siya habang nakasandal white board namin. Maya-maya ay tumango siya kaya tumango nalang rin ako. Wala na kaming choice. Ako ang nagsabi na mag-suggest sila ng kanta kaya unfair kung wala akong pipiliin. Besides, Lucy picked a nice song so there's nothing wrong about it.

" Is it okay?." tanong niya matapos kantahin yung chorus. Hindi kase siya masyadong sanay kumanta ng tagalog kaya hindi niya makuha ng konti yung tono pero ang ganda talaga ng boses niya.

Tumango naman ako." Medyo nakukuha mona, konting practice nalang. Ipagpahinga mo muna yang boses mo, kalahating oras na tayong nagp-practice." Binalik ko yung stand ng microphone sa mini stage. Nasa music room kami ng mansion nila at ngayon lang ulit ako nakabalik dito simula nung nag-away kami.

" Can you make me a cupcake?."

Agad naman ako napalingon sa kanya." Oo ba. Tara sa kusina, tulungan mo'ko. You requested it so you must be my assistant. Remember, I'm not your babysitter anymore." Dinuro ko pa siya at nauna nang lumabas, sumunod naman kaagad siya sa'kin.

" I'm also the reason why you resigned, am I right?." Nagulat ako ng bigla niya akong sinandal sa pader." Damn it. Will you get back if I'll ask you?." Puno ng pagsusumamo ang mga mata niyang nakatitig sa'kin.

" Y-Yeah you're the reason. Pero kalahati lang yung sa'yo, hindi naman talaga 'yun ang rason ko ehh." Napabuntong hininga naman ako."I'm still visiting this mansion whenever I'm free. Don't be such a hard-headed guy, Daron. Kaya niyo na ang sarili niyo." sagot ko naman.

" Okay, fine." Binitawan niya ako at bumuntong hininga." I'll give so some letters, later. For now, I'll help you make cupcakes." Ginulo niya ako at pilit na ngumiti saka naunang maglakad.

Lihim naman akong napangiti sa sinabi niya. Tinotoo niya talaga ang panliligaw sa'kin.  Kahit kailan hindi ko inisip na mangyayari 'to, na aamin rin siya sa'kin na mahal niya ako pero ngayon ay hindi na niya binawi pa. He even made me some love letters and sang a song for me. How romantic he was.

" Wow! Ang sarap naman ng cupcake na 'to. Parang may kasamang pagmamahal." sambit ni Akken kaya bigla akong napaubo. Agad naman ako inabutan ni Cohen ng tubig habang hinahagod ni Daron ang likod ko.

" What happened to you, ate? Is the cupcake too sweet? Baka nasobrahan sa pagmamahal na sinasabi ni Akken." Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi ni Raizer. Ano bang pinagsasabi nila?

Tumawa naman si Shael."Sometimes she's too slow and couldn't easily catch up the meaning. Ang inosente mo talaga tingnan, Kat."

" Stop it. You guys are suffocating her." pigil naman ni Cohen sa kanila.

" Ewan ko sa inyo, nakakasakit kayo sa ulo kausap." Napailing nalang ako at tumayo para magsalin ng juice sa baso ko.

" We're going to sing on Friday. You guyss should support us." Biglang sabi ni Daron kaya napatingin kami sa kanya.

" What?!." Kumunot naman ang noo ni Cohen at tumingin sa'kin."Why didn't you tell me?! Ako dapat yung partner mo hindi si kuya. Ang daya mo talaga, Kat." Bumugsangot ang mukha niya at umiwas pa ng tingin sa'kin.

" Ayokong kumanta mag-isa, Cohen. Kaya inaya ko ang kuya mong samahan ako. Besides, it's just a song." Ininom ko yung juice ko at kumuha ng cupcake sa tray, yung chocolate ang flavor.

" Just surrender, dude. Wala kanang laban kay kuya. Mahal 'yan ni Katria, talo kana." saad naman ni Shael kaya siniko siya ni Cohen sa tiyan at sinamaan ng tingin.

" He's right." Naibuga ko yung iniinom kong juice nang magsalita si Daron." Sa'kin parin ang bagsak niya. You're just wasting your time and efforts. Find another girl that suits for you since you have many admirers." Pinaglalaruan niya ang baso niya at tumingin sa'kin kaya agad naman ako umiwas.

" Aakyat muna ako sa kwarto ko." paalam ko at nagmamadaling lumabas ng kusina.

Shocks! Hindi ako makakain at makainom ng maayos sa pinagsasasabi nila. Naa-out of place ako dahil hindi ako makasabay sa pinag-uusapan nila. Pa'no ba naman kase eh nakakailang yung topic. Aish. Pero kahit ganun, inaamin kong kinikilig talaga ako. Hindi ko nga inaakalang makukuha niya yung first kiss ko. Takte! Feeling ko nagiging okay na ang lahat. Hope so....

" Why do we need line up here?! I'm the owner of the scho----."

" Just shut up, Daron. Ginawa 'to para maging pantay ang lahat, hindi porket ikaw ang may-ari hindi kana susunod sa rules. Kung ayaw mo, pwede mo naman akong iwan dito." Pinag-krus ko ang mga braso ko habang nakapila dito sa may hallway.

Ngayon kase ang schedule ng register sa mga sasali sa singing contest kaya nandito kami ngayon, nakapila. Mabuti nalang at hindi kami sa school ground kundi baka naging barbecue na kami dahil sa init. Kinakabahan pa ako medyo dahil maga-audition kami pagkatapos mapa-register. Langya! Yung mga kasama lang naman sa boybands ang manonood at magr-record ng boses namin. Sila narin ang magsasabi kung pasado ba kami o hindi.

" Don't be nervous." Bigla niyang hinawakan ang kamay ko." They won't eat you. We'll just do what we practiced yesterday, hmmm?."

Tumango lang ako sa sinabi niya."Baka nga ipasa tayo diretso nun dahil ikaw ang kasama ko. Natatakot silang ibagsak tayo dahil baka i-suspend mo sila."

Napatawa naman siya kaya nagsilingunan yung ibang kasama namin na nasa harap. Agad ko naman binawi yung kamay ko sa kanya at nakita kong nagkasalubong ang kilay niya. Naiinis ata.

" Just proceed inside the music room for the audition." paalala sa'min nung babae pero kay Daron lang nakatingin.

Like hello?! Magkasama kaya kami. Tsk. Palibhasa kase sobrang gwapo niya kaya agaw pansin lahat ng mga babae dito.

" What was that face?." nakakunot noo niyang tanong.

" Wala."

Nauna na akong pumasok sa loob pero agad ko naman pinagsisihan ang ginawa ko. Nasa kinse silang lahat na nandito sa loob. Pagkapasok namin ni Daron ay spotlight agad ang bumungad sa'min dahil nandito na kami sa stage. Jusmeyo! Hindi ako inform na ganito pala ang set-up. Baka haggard ang mukha ko kaya nakakahiya para sa kanila.

" You may sit there." Turo nung isang lalake sa dalawang upuan na nasa gitna ng stage." What are you going to sing?." tanong niya.

" The Gift by Jim Brickman and Martina Mcbride." sagot ko naman. Napagdesisyunan kase namin ni Dale na sa contest na kantahin yung sinuggest ni Lucy kaya si Raizer ang pumili ng kanta para sa'min. Nandito rin siya dahil isa siya sa mga boybands kaya maririnig niya ang kantang sinabi niyang kantahin daw namin ngayon.

" Okay. We'll play the song, get ready." saad naman nung isa.

Nag-mic test kami ni Daron dahil may kanya-kanya kaming mic. Magkaharap kami pero hindi ako makatingin sa kanya ng diretso dahil maraming nakatingin sa'min. Gosh! Hindi ko alam na ganito pala kakaba dito. Pinatugtog na nila yung kakantahin namin kaya naghanda na kaming dalawa.

" Hmmm...." Pagsisimula ko ng kanta." Winter snow is falling down. Children laughing all around. Lights are turning on like a fairytale come true. Sittin' by the fire we made you're the answers when I prayed. I would find someone and baby I found you." Tumingin ako sa kanila kahit na kinakabahan ako.

" All I want is to hold you forever. All I need is you more everyday. You save my heart from being broken apart. You gave your love away and I'm thankful everyday for the gift." Ngumiti ako bago huminto sa pagkanta. Nakita ko namang napangiti silang lahat, siguto okay na 'yun.

" Watching as you softly sleep what I'd give if I could keep. Just this moment if only time stood still." Tumingin ako kay Dale at nakatingin rin siya sa'kin." But the colors fade away and the years will make us gray. But baby in my eyes you'll still be beautiful." Ngumiti siya sa'kin kaya napaiwas ako ng tingin. Feeling ko pulang-pula na ang mukha ko ngayon.

Nagkatinginan muna kaming dalawa bago sabay na kumanta."Lalalalalalala.... Lalalala... All I want is to hold you forever. All I need is you more everyday. You save my heart from being broken apart. You gave your love away and I'm thankful everyday for the gift." Humina ang boses namin pareho sa huling linya dahil pagtatapos na 'yun. Pagkatapos ay ngumiti kami sa kanila at rinig namin ang palakpakan nila. Nandun pa si Raizer sa pinaka-harap at nakangiti sa'min. Isa pala siya sa magrerecord ng points namin.

" You okay?." tanong niya sa'kin ng makitang hindi ako mapakali.

Tumango lang ako at pilit na ngumiti." Hindi ko kase alam kung papasa ba tayo."

Hinawakan niya naman ang kamay ko at ngumiti." Everything's gonna be okay. Believe me."

" Hey, come over here. The result is going to be announced." tawag sa'min ng lalake kaya bumalik na kami sa loob.

" Well, your performance is great." Bungad sa'min nung head ata nila." You've got the highest points among all of the contestants. Congratulations, you've passed." dagdag niya pa at ngumiti.

Dahil sa tuwa ko ay napatalon ako at napayakap sa kanya. Nagulat naman ako sa ginawa ko at hihiwalay sana kaso niyakap niya rin ako pabalik. Ang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko at alam kong narinig niya 'yun. Nakakahiya.
