eliza brushed her untidy hair and brushed her teeth, slipping into some jeans and a loose white blouse.

it was 7:34 and she had to be at school in 30 minutes. her school was close by, so she didn't stress. peggy and angelica were both asleep and alexander left the night before. she had to finish the school year before she went to yale because this was was a community college. it was nothing fancy, and only her second year there.

she made a fine group of friends, including laurens, that's why she was at his house the night she met alexander.

she took out her dream journal, it was an assignment in astronomy class to make a dream journal and write down your dreams every month, and since alexander was holding her last night she had a good dream, so she could actually be truthful, she wrote down her nightmares, of course, but she decided to keep that between herself and the teacher.

last night i had a good dream. it was peaceful and quiet, it was me and my sister, peggy, we were just running around, laughing, and the sun was shining and everything felt right with the world, and when i woke up everything was good for once and a while.

she closed the journal and ran downstairs, stuffed the journal in her backpack, and took a banana, then ran out the door.

eliza finally got to school and ran to class. she took her books and everything she needed and went off to literature, she loved to write, but she wanted to be a teacher.

she finished up with literature and walked to mr. washington's class, history. she had a love hate relationship with history while alex absolutely loved it.

she walked in, sat her books down, when they began the first subject, she was paying attention and she felt her phone vibrate and she raised her hand.

"yes, eliza?" he asked surprised, she wasn't one to talk.

"may i be excused?" she asked and bit her lip.

"of course." he said and kind of half bowed.

she walked out and took out her phone.

eliza ran back into the classroom, not caring if anyone was looking at her, she had tears running down her cheeks and mr. washington looked worried. he was her godfather, actually.

he speed walked over to her and took her arms and stroked her cheek, no one questioned it because they all knew he was her godfather.

"a-angelica was hurt." she said and sobbed, he hugged her tight and took his coat.

"everyone, read pages 45-67! ill have a substitute in here!" he yelled and dragged eliza out of the room.

"liza, darling what exactly happened?" he was close to the door but not close enough to see the kids eavesdropping on the conversation.

"p-peggy texted me and told me ang-angelica was hurt..." she sobbed.

"ok. did she tell you what happened?" he asked.

"n-no..." she said and sighed.

"okay, let's get you back home, you call alexander." he said and rubbed her back, she took her bag out of her locker and they left.

eliza ran inside with mr. washington.

"uncle george... what are you doing here...?" peggy said, her cheeks streaked with tears.

"eliza was in class when you texted her. good call, peggy." he said and kissed her head.

"angel-angelica was running downstairs, she slipped and busted her head open on the railing." peggy said slowly.

"okay, where is she?" george asked hesitantly.

"upstairs, in the bathroom." peggy said.

george ran upstairs and found angelica in the bathtub, blood running down her head and holding a whi- red towel.

he took her arm and slowly helped her up, he slowly looked at it and it looked terrible.

"you might need staples, that's it." he smiled and stroked her cheek.

angelica was immediately terrified she hated the thought of staples.

eliza was downstairs wrapping her arms around peggy after she called alex when they heard the door slam open and lafayette, alexander, and john ran inside, lafayette immediately ran upstairs to angelica and laurens and alex ran to eliza and peggy.

alex wrapped his arms around eliza and kissed her head and laurens picked peggy up, spinned her, kissed her, and stroked her cheek.

"what happened to her?" alex asked and wiped a tear from eliza's cheek.

"s-she busted her head open..." eliza choked.

"poor girl." laurens cried and put his arm around peggy's waist.

"yeah." peggy mumbled and bowed her head.

two days later and angelica already got her staples, eliza cuddled up next to alex, peggy was sleeping on john's chest, and lafayette and angelica were just talking, whilst fiddling with each other's thumbs.

eliza smiled up at alex. and he smiled down at her.

"hey, how are you, love?" alex whispered.

"i'm good, school is-- hard though." she said and scoffed, looking down. he picked her chin up and looked at her in the eyes.

"hun, i know it's hard. but you're smart, and powerful and strong and i believe in you." he said and smiled.

"thank you." she whispered, pecked his cheek and then nuzzled into his chest to fall asleep to the sound of heavy breathes and angelica's soft giggles.

alexander immediately woke up when he realized he and laurens were late for work, he stood up, shook laurens, who was under peggy.

"dude what?" he groaned but whispered when he woke up.

"it's 8:04!" he screamed and the girls all woke up, lafayette was still asleep.

"oh sh-" he was about to say but was cut off by peggy waking up.

"what happened?" she mumbled.

"me and john are late for work!" he yelled and since he was already in sensible clothes, he gave eliza a kiss and stormed out.

"bye, sweetheart." laurens whispered and kissed peggy's head then stormed out the door.

"you're fired." the girl said to both of the boys.

"m- mary..." alex started but got cut off by a hand.

"i don't want to hear it." she said and walked away.

alex was stressing out the most about this. especially for eliza, if she figures out he got fired she might break up with him, or say no to the scholarship to yale, he couldn't ruin that opportunity, but he also knew the longer he kept the secret the worse it would get.

he had to tell her, he didn't keep secrets from her and she didn't keep secrets from him, it would be hard, but he had too. tonight.

alex packed his stuff and headed to his apartment and put it all up. it was 3:00. he was going to dinner tonight with eliza.

he sighed and got ready, he put on some clean clothes, brushed his hair/teeth, cleaned his face, whatever. it was 6:00 now and he was heading to eliza's house.

when he finally arrived he braced himself and knocked on the door.

eliza looked beautiful, as always. she was wearing a flowy pale blue dress and white heels so she was about to alexander's nose.

she stood up on her toes and kissed him softly, they both separated quickly and smiled.

"you look - wow." he beamed.

"thank you, mr. fancy." she giggled.

"h-hey.. laurens told me about you guys getting fired im- im so sorry..." she said softly and rubbed her arm. SHE ALREADY KNEW?! wow okay then.

alexander took her arm.

"it's alright, love. i'll find a new job." he sighed as they walked towards the french place they were going.

"well, i know you will." she smiled, she wasn't smiling inside. she had to tell him she was leaving in 3 weeks.

"reservation for 2, under hamilton?" he said to the person at the desk.

"right this way." she said, leading them and giving them their menus.

the place was filled with utensils banging on plates and soft whispers filled the room. it was quiet, but nice.

"s-so alex i need to tell you something important...." she said and took his hand, alex wasn't worried, they were doing fine. he squeezed it and looked concerned. "i'm l-leaving... in three weeks." she said and looked down. alex's concerned face dropped to a sad one.

they would be over 100 miles apart....

"w-when did you figure out?" he said and his voice cracked.

"y-yesterday..." she cried, soft enough so no one would hear but loud enough that the people sitting close by would.

"it's okay, hun. you got an amazing opportunity, take it. go, achieve your dreams that's what life is all about." he sighed and stroked her cheek.

"but my life has to have you in it too alex." she said with sad eyes.

"i know, and we will think of something but right now, focus on your education, on what's important." he said hesitantly.

"you're important too." she whispered.

"and so are you, liza. i promise... you're the most amazing most genuine most humble person ive ever known. but please, go. we will figure it out." he smiled.

"thank you." she whispered and smiled softly.

"don't mention it, elizabeth." he teased and winked.

"shut up, alexander." she giggled.

he gasped sarcastically, "elizabeth how dare you!" he laughed and she shrugged and laughed some more.

peggy yawned and woke up from a long nap, she had gotten sick again and she looked at her side table to see her phone, a measuring cup filled with medicine, a cup of water, and a note.

my dearest peggy,

               i left to get some things from the store. angelica is in her room if you need anything. love you. have this to make you feel better <3

peggy smiled to herself and slowly took the medicine, and gulped it down slowly after she took a mouthful of water.

she groaned and tossed in her bed when she got out her phone. she scrolled through tumblr, instagram, her texts, twitter, yeah yeah.

she yawned again, but she wasn't tired, she was actually very confused on why she was yawning, probably just the medicine. peggy found out eliza was leaving yesterday and this memory just came back to her when a tear fell down her cheek and landed on her phone.

she was eventually sobbing and she guessed angelica heard because angelica knocked on the door slowly then opened it.

"hey, love. you okay?" she whispered, cradling her. she shook her head and cried some more.

"i-it's just... the thought of eliza leaving... j-john might leave... you're leaving everyone's leaving!" she kept crying and angelica held her tighter.

"angie's here. angie's here. we will never leave, peggy. okay? we will always contact you, and john isn't going anywhere." the thought of john leaving killed peggy, especially with everyone else leaving, knowing he was staying enlightened the mood a lot.

she stayed there with angelica and cried for a couple hours. then she remembered.

"why isn't john here yet?"
