|12| Madison

For the next two days, Maddy frequently visited the magical library. She spent the time in the library with Lila, chatting with her and giving her company. The way Lila's eyes lit up when she revisited made Maddy take the decision to visit her more frequently. Maddy learnt a lot about the faeries as well as about Lila's past.

Soon, it was time for Maddy and the others to leave for India. They were taking the commercial planes as it might tip the people who have Leia if a private plane with werewolves randomly landed at Bangalore. In a commercial plane, they were less likely to be suspected. Maddy didn't have to do any packing as she had already packed during their previous attempt to go to Bangalore.

Their flight was in the morning at 8 a.m. At 5 o'clock Maddy was woken up by an overly excited Alexa.

"Wakey wakey!" she exclaimed as drew the curtains of the only window in Maddy's room. How had she even entered Maddy's room?

"Go away," Maddy grumbled as she buried her head between the pillow and the bed.

"It's time to get ready. We need to catch the flight. I thought you were excited to return to India after five years."

"Not if I have to wake up this early in the morning."

Maddy groggily got ready. When she got to the place where they were supposed to meet, she saw that everyone was drowsy, except Alexa that is. Xander's dad ushered them into the car and they were off to the airport.

Initially, both the Alphas had been confused when the matefinder told them that Xander, Maddy, Alexa and Jeremy would be leaving in four days instead of a week later, but they didn't question the matefinder.

Maddy later found out that while they were trying to sneak out, the guards spent the entire night searching for the imaginary rogue. She felt bad for them but didn't dare to tell them that there was no rogue. She was just glad that no one told the Alphas that the four of them tried to sneak out.

An hour later they reached the airport. Just before they were supposed to go through all the different security checks, the two Alphas turned towards them. The Alphas hadn't booked tickets for themselves which meant that they wouldn't be allowed to go past the airport security.

"Now remember, don't put yourself in too much danger. If possible, don't put yourself at danger at all. Once you find out where Leia is being held, you will call us and not jump in yourself," Tristan instructed.

"Everyone listens to Xander. He is the Alpha of this small pack. When he tells to retreat, you will retreat. As Tristan said before, don't put yourself in danger. I want all of you to come back without a scratch," Justin said.

Xander shot Maddy a smug look when Justin mentioned that he was the Alpha and in response, Maddy stuck her tongue out at him.

"Don't put yourself in danger to save Leia," Tristan reminded Maddy once again. "If anything happens to you, I will have one pissed off mom to answer to," Tristan said jokingly but his eyes showed that he was dead serious.

Maddy knew that if she even scratched her hand because of someone, her mom wouldn't be afraid to lash out at the someone. She was very bold and even reckless at times. She would probably storm up all the way to California just to give the Alpha a piece of her mind. Maddy couldn't imagine how her mom would react if she knew what and all Maddy had done in previous month. In a best-case scenario, she would probably ground Maddy forever and in the worst case... Let's not think about that.

The four of them walked through the airport security. They had to stand in the line for hours. Why were people even awake at such an ungodly hour? Then there were those stupid people who didn't listen to the instructions given and held up the line. By the time they finished everything and were waiting for the flight to arrive, Maddy was dead on her feet. In spite of all the delay, they still had an hour to waste before the flight.

"Why did we get up so early if we are going to wait for an hour anyway?" Maddy grumbled as she took a seat in the area where they were supposed to wait.

Jeremy shrugged. "If you are so sleepy, then just sleep here. We'll wake you up after an hour when we have to board the plane."

"First of all, I can't possibly sleep here. It is uncomfortable as hell and I'll probably end up twisting my neck the wrong way. Second of all, even if I do fall asleep, Xander will most probably take ugly pictures of me sleeping and use it as blackmail. I might trust him with my life, but I don't trust him while I'm sleeping."

"You've already slept together. Well, not in that way but you never know with the two of you," Alexa asserted, waggling her eyebrows. "Besides, when the mad lady kept you both locked together in the safehouse for the first few days, Xander did see you sleep."

Maddy waved her hand dismissively and purposely ignored the suggestive sentence. "He didn't have a phone back then. Now, he might go up to any extent."

"You guys are talking about me as though I am not here," Xander said amusedly. "And I would never even think of blackmailing you, Maddy. I wouldn't even think of taking a picture of you while you are sleeping. That is just stalkerish. I am an Alpha; I don't stalk and blackmail."

Maddy snorted and shook her head. "I totally believe you."

For the next hour, the four of them spent their time arguing about whether Xander would stoop low enough to blackmail Maddy or not. Soon, their plane arrived and the four of them picked up their luggage and boarded the plane.
