"I'm fixing to leave you guys alone so yall can get acquainted." Cindy smiles. "I'll be back in a little bit. Bye, guys."
"Bye." Tim says as the others wave. "Well, I guess we need to show you guys around."
He reaches down for Satchmo's leash and stands up.
Adam starts to reach for his arm but Austin waves him off.
Chris follows Tim into the kitchen but Rob grabs Adam by the arm.
"Don't worry about Tim getting around in this house." Austin whispers. "He knows it like the back of his hand."
"Yeah, just don't move the furniture around. We did that once just for a change and Tim almost killed himself running over things. We haven't done it since." Rob chuckles.
"I'll remember that." Adam laughs.
"Austin and Chance does most of the grocery shopping since Betty's passing." Tim was saying as the others come into the kitchen. "So I have no idea what is in these cabinets. Same for the fridge. Except for this." Tim smiles as he reaches into the fridge on the second shelf, left-hand side and got a beer. "Want one?"
"Don't mind if I do." Chris smiles, taking the beer that was offered.
"No thank you." Adam smiles.
"Do you drink?" Tim asks with a raised brow.
"Oh, yeah." Adam nods. "Mainly mixed drinks.
"Cool." Tim smirks, mocking Adam from earlier.
They continue the tour of the lower floor. Hardwood floors throughout the house. The walls in each room were painted beautiful colors. Giving the home a very warm relaxed feeling.
Large sliding patio doors in the dining room led to a huge backyard surrounded by a privacy fence. An in-ground swimming pool, firepit, beautiful patio furniture, a gas grill and a flower garden was all a plus.
"Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. Looks like something out of a magazine." Adam says as he tries to take in everything.
"I'll take your word for it." Tim smiles.
"We spend a lot of time out here." Austin says with a smile.
"Do yall take care of all of this or is there a gardener?" Chris asks.
"Betty hired someone to mow and to tend to the pool but the flower garden was her and Chance's baby." Tim answers.
"You did this? It's beautiful." Adam asks Chance as he points to the garden.
Chance nods and smiles proudly.
"Yeah, if you can't find him just look out here." Austin laughs.
"Shall we head upstairs?" Chris asks.
"Yall can use my elevator if you want." Rob chuckles as they head inside.
"Sure. Lead the way." Chris smiles.
"Adam? Mind if I kinda hang on to you?" Tim says. "Satchmo doesn't like the elevator too well. He panics and gets really fidgety. And my cane is in my room."
"Of course I don't mind." Adam says with a smile. The smiles and the glances of the others did not go unnoticed by Adam.
Chance taps Austin on the arm to get his attention.
"What is Tim talking about? Satch isn't scared of the elevator. And he can go up and down the stairs without his cane just as good as any of us." Chance says in sign language.
"I think Tim may be trying to get him some." Austin chuckles, answering back in sign language so the Rupp brothers couldn't hear him.
Chance reaches for Tim's hand and lays it on top of his own.
"What are you up to, Timmy? Lol." Chance signs.
A small smile comes across Tim's face as he reads Chance's hand motions.
"I may be a little interested in a certain Adam Rupp. Is he cute?" Tim asks in sign language.
"Very." Chance signs and laughs as Tim gives him a thumbs up.
"You ready?" Adam asks as he holds out his arm.
"Yeah." Tim answers as he reaches out to find Adam's arm. He was pretty sure he blushed as he put his hand around Adam's muscular bicep. 'Wow.' He thought at he swallows hard.
They make their way into the elevator and Rob presses the second-floor button.
Tim unknowing moves his fingers, feeling the soft skin beneath them. He smiles slightly and bites his bottom lip. He couldn't help but wonder if all of Adam's skin was this smooth.
Adam feels the movement on his arm. Looking down, he notices Tim slightly moving his fingers. Was he trying to check Adam out? Was he trying to send a message? Adam glances around at the blind man to see a smile on his face as he stares blankly at the floor.
The elevator door opens causing them both to look up.
"Here you will find the sleeping quarters." Rob smiles as they exit the elevator. That's my room right in front of the elevator."
"The room next to Rob is empty and the room across the hall is mine and Chance's." Austin says.
"Where's your room?" Adam asks Tim.
"Down that way, next to the stairs." Tim points to the left. "There's an empty room next to mine."
"Well, Adam, I'll just take the room next to Rob and you can take the room next to Tim's" Chris says, giving his brother a big smile.
"That's fine." Adam says trying not to smile. "Come on, let's go check it out." He says patting Tim on the hand.
"You lead, I'll follow." Tim chuckles. He feels along the hallway searching for his room.
"This is my room." Tim says as he opens the door.
"Wow, this is nice. It's a huge room." Adam says as he walks in. The walls were painted a dark shade of blue. Everything in the room was neatly placed to make it easier for Tim to find. The queen size bed was neatly made with dark blue covers.
"All the rooms are this size." Tim nods. "You're room is right next door. I'll show you."
Tim turns and walks out into the hallway, feeling his way next door.
"After you." Tim smiles as he opens the door.
"Oh, I love this." Adam grins as he walks into the olive green room. "Who picked out the colors for the walls? They're beautiful."
"I guess Betty did. What color is it? Do you not like it?" Tim asks.
"No, I love it. It's sort of an olive green." Adam says looking down at the queen size bed with the same color covers.
"I don't know what olive green looks like." Tim says with a shrug. "You also have a walk-in closet and your own bathroom."
"Cool." Adam says as he goes to check out the bathroom.
"That must be one of your favorite words." Tim chuckles. "You tend to say it a lot."
"Do I really? Sorry, I didn't realize I did." Adam smiles as he comes from the bathroom.
"No, that's fine. It's just something to say when you don't have anything else to say at moment." Tim says with a slight smirk.
"I guess that's true." Adam laughs. "So let's go see what everyone else is doing."
"Next floor, the man cave." Rob laughs as they load back onto the elevator.
"Whoa, this is pretty awesome." Chris says as the elevator door opens.
The room was complete with a huge big screen t.v., several couches and recliners, a pool table, and a fully stocked bar.
"We spend a lot of our time up here. Watching movies, ballgames. Stuff like that." Austin says.
"Except for Tim. He's unsociable." Rob laughs.
"I am not." Tim argues. "I'm just not that much into 'watching' movies. I'd rather read."
"Ms. Betty found a website that sold books written in braille and she ordered Tim a bunch of books." Chance says with Austin interpreting.
"Cool." Adam says. He hears Tim begin to laugh making him realize what he had just said. "Sorry." Adam laughs.
