Me: You can't leave without telling me where you're going.

Shadow: You sound like a mother.

Me: Thank you.

Shadow: Wasn't a compliment.

"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be walking around late like this." A older man spoke walking up to you. He was around 19. He had three other people with him. They all looked the same age. But they were much older than you. You tried to get passed them. But one of them stopped you. You tried to get your arm free but he had a strong grip on you. Their 'leader' walked up to you. "You aren't going to go anywhere." Two of his men held you by the arms dragging you into an alley.

"Let go of me!" You shouted struggling against these people.

"Stop moving." You felt a sharp pain on your cheek. But you kept struggling. The 'leader' started shushing his friend. A hand covered your mouth. You heard faint footsteps in the silence of the night. They were getting closer and closer. You bit the hand that was covering your mouth. It shot away in sudden pain.

"Help!" You shouted as loud as you could. The footsteps you heard had sped up. "Help!" You screamed once more.

"You little B!tch!" The 'leader' shouted going to hit you. But his hand was stopped.

"Back off now or I call the police Kenji."

"Shadow." He spoke menacingly moving his arm away going to swing at Shadow. "What are you going to do? Kick a ball at us?"

"I'm serious I am prepared to call the police." Your chin was grabbed in a violent manner.

"There's nothing you can do." You started to struggle again. You started to cry.

"Please don't do this." You begged through the tears.

"Aww. Baby there's no one to help you now." All of a sudden he doubled over in pain. Shadow had kicked him down.

"You d!ck!" The two holding you arms went forward to defend their 'leader' a long with the third person that always hung back. Shadow pushed past them, grabbed you hand and ran. He took you to his house.

"You should be safe here. Where are you parents?" He spoke bringing you into his house.

"I-I ran away."

"You can stay here for as long as you need. Come with me. You can sleep in my bedroom." He started to go up the stairs. But you stayed down. "Come one." He said turning around seeing you still at the bottom.

"I shouldn't. I must leave."

"Are you an idiot? They're probably out there looking for you and me!" You looked down.

"S-Sorry. But if I am to stay I mustn't take your room."

"I insist. You need a good nights sleep after what happened." He came back down the stairs taking your hand and pulling you up. He took you to his room. You stood there awkwardly as he rummaged through his drawers looking for something for you to sleep in. He pulled out a t-shirt that would be baggy on you. And a pair of jogging bottoms. "I'll leave you to get changed. I'll bring you up a galss of water in ten minutes." You nodded at him and he left you there. You changed into the clothes he had given you before sitting on the edge of the bed. A few minutes later Shadow came up with a glass of water. He knocked before opening the door.

"Here." He passed you the water. You took a sip. "I never got your name."

"(F/N). (L/N) (F/N). And you're Shadow?"

"My name is Yamino Kageto. But I go by Shadow." You took another sip of the water he had brought up. "I'll leave you to sleep." He spoke standing up. You quickly grabbed his hand.

"Please don't leave me here alone." You begged him.

"What else can I do?"

"Stay with me tonight. I'll leave you tomorrow just please don'e leave me alone tonight." You stood up and hugged him. He didn't know what to do at first but soon put his arms around you as well.

"You don't have to leave tomorrow. You can stay as long as you need."

"Thank you" You whispered hugging him tight. You let go and sat on the bed again. "Um.. Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah?"

"How do you know those people from before?"

"Um...Kenji lives a few bocks down the road. My family knows his." You shook in fear. Scared that something would happen now you knew the guy who tried to rape you. Wasn't too far away. Shadow rubbed you arm.

"Don't worry about it. I won't let him hurt you." He passed you the water and you took a shaky sip from the glass. "You need to get some sleep." He stood up and you followed. You climbed into the bed. He took a pillow and went to place it on the floor. You put a hand on his wrist.

"I can't let you sleep on the floor. This is your house."

"Please. I just want you to have some sleep."

"I'd rather you slept in the bed Shadow."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." He got into the bed next to you.

"Goodnight." You whispered.

"Night." He whispered back.

During the night Shadow woke up. He saw you peacefully sleeping next to him. He smiled to himself before moving hair covering your face. You moved in your sleep. You moved closer to him. You rolled onto his arm. You tucked your face into his neck. He smiled resting his head on yours. He fell asleep again shortly after a smile painted on his face.

Shadow: *Frowns* I am not.

Me: Sometimes a little grumpy.

Shadow: *Groans* Just end it already.

Me: I'm not planning on ending its anytime soon.
