失われた感情 (Ushinawareta Kanjou), Part 6/6, Cut Strings
Shutendouji came back to see Natsume and Touma intertwining their hands, while Akinori and Ayame had their arms together as well.
"HIME!" Shutendouji rushed to her and was about to hug her when a SUPER high note was suddenly played right beside his ears, causing him to jump away.
Keisuke's scowl was full on now, "Stay away from my sister, or I won't hesitate to come after you."
"I-"
"You may have repented, but what you allowed to happen doesn't justify it," Keisuke hissed out again.
"Keisuke, calm down," Natsume put her hand on his shoulder, "Sakami-kun really tried to rescue me... Also, I don't think Douketsu's around anymore..."
It took a while for Keisuke to load that. His eyes widened in shock, before he looked away, "I-I'm sorry... I-I guess I jumped into conclusions..."
"I-It's fine..." Shutendouji just accepted it. His eyes were shadowed a bit as he spoke.
"A-Anyway, we should be head back home, shouldn't we?" Ayame decided to break the ice (Well, she WAS closer to Shutendouji and Douketsu thanks to Akino and the rest).
"True..." Natsume nodded.
"Let's go home, guys," Akinori stated.
"Sounds good," Touma smiled.
"I'll stay back for a while, if that's okay," Keisuke decided.
"Eh? You sure?" Ayame asked.
Keisuke nodded.
"All right then," the rest agreed to let him be, so they all left the shrine, leaving Keisuke with Shutendouji.
"... Why did you stay?"
"I understand how you feel. That's all."
"How? You never lost a close comrade-"
"Yes, I did," Keisuke's eyes glinted a bit red. "Ken-chan was my best friend."
Shutendouji stopped. He remembered hearing about Kenji, and he immediately realised his mistake, "I-I apologise-"
"Don't be. Just move on. Douketsu wouldn't have wanted you to be this way," After saying that, Keisuke walked away.
Shutendouji just decided to take his words to heart.
It has been a long day, and he was ready to sleep.
With that, he left as well.
