Never Hesitate, Part 3
Keisuke watched the sun reflected from the outside world set as he drank some hot chocolate, sitting on the roof of the base. His chocolate brown eyes scanned the city, with his right hand unconsciously tugging at the collar of his white hoodie covering his blue t-shirt to let some air enter his body.
As usual, his memories flooded him every time he saw the sunset.
He remembered how this entire war against Natshuka had started.
His parents had been killed in an accident involving a drunk truck driver-It's ironic, he had mused once, that what broke him would break his sister. -and his sister had been completely devastated.
Keisuke hated himself for everything that had happened to his sister. He blamed himself for letting her fall into darkness.
However, at the same time, he also knew that if he had fallen into darkness 7 years ago, when Ken-chan had died, then he wouldn't have met him again a year ago and had met Touma, Akinori and Ayame.
He would never regret those happy times.
And that just fuelled his determination.
Keisuke smiled softly as he watched over the camp in front of the base.
No matter what, he was going to bring the Sakura New Town he loved and cared for back.
Even if everyone turned their backs to him, he would still fight.
After all, he had promised Ken-chan's parents that.
Just then, his eyes caught sight of 2 silhouettes leaving the camp and heading towards the park. He frowned.
Who's that? I don't recall ever seeing those two before in the camp....
"I have to go check it out," he muttered to himself, so he dunked down his hot chocolate and slid down the roof, making sure to shout out an apology to Kouji and Tank, who had been passing by, while tossing the mug down to them. Luckily, the two of them had grown a lot more stronger in the past year, so they managed to catch it.
Keisuke grinned reassuringly at them before he continued his journey, hopping from tent to tent (Thank goodness Azusa-san made them strong enough to withstand these kind of activities, he smiled a bit.) with ease.
Soon, he reached the entrance and dropped down, causing Masaki and Misaki to roll their eyes once they got over their initial shock.
"When will you stop doing that, our fearless leader?" Masaki joked.
"Maybe when this entire thing's over," Keisuke joked back before he got back into business. "I have to go out for a while. If I'm not back in 50 minutes, you know the drill."
"Got it," Misaki nodded. "Be careful."
"Hey, if I wasn't careful, I wouldn't be one of the leaders of Peace," Keisuke grinned at them. "I'll be fine."
"Okay then," Masaki smiled as he ruffled Keisuke's hair. "See ya. I'll go tell the old man that we're going to be a bowl short."
"Thanks, Masaki," he thanked before he rushed off, hearing Masaki's "No problem!" resonate.
He travelled to the park, only to be greeted by the sight of 3 Youkai sitting together on the bench.
He recognised them. Natshuka... with Touma and Akinori?!
"No one suspects you two right?" Natshuka smiled at Gentouma and Hakushuri, who both nodded. Hakushuri chuckled.
"They all believe Amano, who believes us, so it's perfect," Gentouma smirked, his eyes showing malice.
"I can't believe that he trusts us so much despite you being an ex-villain, Gentouma," Hakushuri grinned at him.
"Shut up, Hakushuri," Gentouma playfully punched him. "He doesn't know that, remember?"
"Right," Hakushuri laughed. "Wow, I can't believe that we managed to keep him under our control for a year or so. You would think that he could catch on, but apparently he's too trusting of his friends."
Natshuka smiled, "I'm sorry you two had to suffer so long because of this plan."
"It's fine," Gentouma smiled back. "It was fun breaking him every day."
Hakushuri smirked, "Speaking of which, we have an uninvited guest."
With that, Natshuka snapped her fingers.
