Infiltrating Bear, Part 2
"The first thing we have to find is the armband of Keisuke's first Youkai friend," Bearlynyan announced.
"That's Bourei Banchou, or the Youkai form of Kenji," Aruke noted.
"Who's that, Aruke-san?" Gluesome inquired curiously. He had never heard Keisuke talk about his past that much, so of course this was new to him.
"Kenji was Keisuke's friend who taught him about courage, but he died in a traffic accident," Aruke explained. "They reunited (or were supposed to be) in the first episode of Shadowside."
"Ah..." Gluesome nodded in understanding.
"Anyway, we should go look for him, shouldn't we?" Bearlynyan noted.
"No need," Aruke shook his head. "He's temporarily replacing Jibanyan now that Jibanyan's left as his intersection's protector. I leave him to you two while I go get the rest of the things needed."
"You would do that?" Bearlynyan looked a bit shocked. He knew that Aruke was kind, but he never knew that it was to this extent. "But what if they find out about your true allegiances?"
"They won't," Aruke smiled a bit. "The only one who can read me through and through is Konju, and he's also supporting this phase."
"All right, thanks, Aruke," Bearlynyan thanked him while handing him the list of things needed for Keisuke's Youkai powers.
"Strands of hairs from Jorogumo, Haruya and Douketsu, plus Orochi's ark... Huh, not bad," Aruke grinned. "I'll go get these, so meet me back here in an hour or so. Feel free to roam around as well."
"Yes!" Gluesome cheered.
"Thanks, Aruke," Bearlynyan smiled. "You're really helping us."
"Hey, like I said, it's nothing. Just as long as you give those unappreciated characters a hug and second chances to the villains, I'll be fine," Aruke grinned.
With that, the 2 groups separated.
1. Kenji's Armband
"You sure this is the place?" Gluesome looked around the intersection, unable to believe that this was supposed to be the place where they were to meet Bourei Banchou.
"Very," Bearlynyan nodded.
"Looks less like a place where a justice fighter would hang around and more like a place where a police officer would," Gluesome noted.
"Then again, Bourei Banchou IS just replacing Jibanyan for the while," Bearlynyan reminded.
Just then, they saw a truck stop as a very familiar Youkai punched it, thus saving a little kid who was passing by.
Gluesome's eyes widened, "Is that..."
"That's Bourei Banchou all right," Bearlynyan grinned. "We found him."
"Great, because the faster we do this, the sooner we can get back to Keisuke," Gluesome mumbled.
"Good point," Bearlynyan agreed. "Let's hurry then."
"Oh."
2. Strands of hair from Jorogumo, Haruya and Douketsu
One of the few things Aruke liked about being a Fate Changer was the thrill of doing dangerous stuff. While he had been a bit scared at first, he eventually grew a lot more comfortable with it.
Anyway, another thing he liked about it was that he was given direct access to the Borrowed Actor House, a special space in Chaos where everyone who haven't made an apperarance in the series stayed until their debut.
And right now, Jorogumo, Douketsu and Haruya were staying there.
Perfect. Since Haruya is busy with Natsume and the rest, I can get the strands easily. Aruke smirked.
But first he had to get ready.
He rushed off to the janitor room, where he switched his clothes for a janitor outfit, putting a cap on to avoid detection. After that, he walked out.
He strided over to Haruya's room, which he was sharing with Jorogumo, Douketsu, and Kuuten/Soranaki, and knocked on the door, trying to keep his jittery nerves stable.
Kuuten (luckily, he usually opted to go into his prior form when he was staying in the room with the other 3) opened the door while holding a book about how to genuinely "hate" your lover, obviously trying to practice for when he finally has his showdown with Shuka.
"Cleaning service~" Aruke put on his girly voice, trying to resist the urge to run like the wind. He only used that for roleplays with Konju, so to use it with others and not for roleplays was just embarrassing. (And yes, Aruke DOES have a sense of embarrassment.)
Luckily, Kuuten was either really dense or he was really loyal to Shuka, because he just smiled and opened the door for Aruke.
But then again, maybe he was too stuck to the book.
That made MUCH more sense.
Anyway, Aruke didn't wait for Kuuten to figure out his identity. He speed-walked to Haruya's room, which was mainly filled with photos of Shuka, and looked around for a hairbrush.
"Come on, come on, you GOTTA have some hairbrushes..." Aruke murmured softly as he searched his dresser. "You have crazy long hair! How can you not have any hairbrushes-" he stopped.
He was now holding a girly hairbrush with a bunch of hair, which made him stifle a laugh before he got serious. He could see some red and black here and there, which made him realise that it was both his Youkai and human form.
"Dear me," He slowly extracted some strands and put it in 2 vials, quickly labelling it "Haruya" and "Shutendouji". "This guy is quite girly..."
He then pocketed the vials and went to Jorogumo's room, where he quickly found the hair and retrieved it.
Douketsu's hair wasn't that hard to find, since it was (quite literally) all over the place, so once he was done, he cleaned up Kuuten's room to keep the act up and rushed out.
3. Orochi's Ark
Aruke quickly changed clothes before he rushed to the Props room, where all the things needed for the show is placed. Doing the usual retina scan, he walked in.
The room was basically a locker room filled with the things needed for each season. Usually, it was the Fate Changer's job to deal with them, so the only obstacles he would be facing would be fellow Fate Changers.
"Come on, come on, where IS that thing?..." he mumbled as he skimmed the lockers.
"Inazuma Eleven Orion, no. Katri, no. Shadowside... no. Youkai Watch with an exclamation mark, No-YES!" Aruke cheered a bit as he jogged over to the locker, doing the retina scan to open it before he saw what he needed.
"Sorry, Keita, but you'll have to wait for a bit longer," Aruke whispered as he took out the Youkai Watch Elder version K, keeping it in his pocket before he rushed out of the Props room.
After he was safely out of the Borrowed Actor House, he walked over to the closest sewer hole and began climbing down.
"All right, Orochi, you're next," he mumbled. "Why Level 5 just HAD to put you in the sewers is one of the biggest questions I have so far regarding Shadowside."
1. Kenji's Armband
"So, you're Kenji?..." Gluesome tried to understand how Keisuke could be friends with someone like this as the 3 of them stood in an alley.
Kenji's spirit sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah... How do you know Kei-chan, though?... And why is his kidnapper here?..."
"I'm a bit surprised you haven't attacked me, to be fair," Bearlynyan confessed.
Kenji shrugged, "I've learnt to listen to everyone's stories first before hitting them. So, why DID you kidnap Kei-chan?"
"Because we believe that he deserves better than what Level 5 is giving him," Bearlynyan replied. "They literally pulled a Danganronpa V3 on us, with Keisuke being Kaede and Natsume being Shuichi."
"Wait, are you talking about that video game where the first murder was done by the supposed protagonist, but the real protagonist could shine because of her?" Kenji briefly remembered seeing that in the Borrowed Actor House, where he lived as well.
"Yeah, that one," Bearlynyan nodded.
"Ah..." Kenji slowly bobbed his head up and down. "So what do you need from me?"
"Your armband," Gluesome replied. "It'll be really great if you could let us have it. We want to awaken Keisuke's Youkai powers."
"That'll be amazing!" Kenji grinned. "Level 5 wasn't going to give Kei-chan anything, so please do so! Here!" He took out his armband and handed it over to Bearlynyan, also adding in his Ark. "In case you need any help, call on me."
"Thanks, Kenji," Bearlynyan pocketed the 2 items. "You won't tell anyone we were here, right?"
"Of course not!" Kenji shook his head. "For Kei-chan's sake, I'll keep quiet!"
"Thank you so much!" The two chorused.
"You're welcome," Bourei Banchou smiled at them before walking off.
Bearlynyan grinned. "Now that we've gotten the armband, we should go meet up with Aruke."
"Good idea," Gluesome agreed.
3. Orochi's Ark
"Please?"
"No."
"Pretty please?"
"No."
"I'll help you get more pets."
Silence.
"... Fine," Orochi handed Aruke his Ark. "But don't forget to return it in time for episode 26."
"Got it! Bye!" Aruke rushed off. Once he was sure that he was far enough, he took out his Fluctuation Artefact.
"Sorry for supporting a project out of my selfish wants, but I am really sick of seeing Level 5 do this," he apologised to it before he put in a piece of steel, opening up a portal that allowed him to go through just in time to meet up with Bearlynyan and Gluesome.
"Here you go," Aruke took out the strands of hair, Orochi's ark and the Youkai Watch Elder version K, causing Bearlynyan to stare in shock.
"Isn't this..." "The watch that was going to make a debut in the anime after Shadowside? Yes, but I feel that since Keita isn't around at the moment, Keisuke will be able to use it. After all, he might need to summon a friend in emergencies. Just take it. Who knows, you guys might have to battle the Agency," Aruke pushed it gently to Bearlynyan.
".... This is truly... Aruke, I am so glad that you are on our side," Bearlynyan hugged him, causing Aruke to laugh before hugging back.
After they separated, Aruke quickly said his goodbyes, then rushed off to deal with some more things, leaving the Fan Artist and Youkai OC alone.
