He looked at himself in the mirror as his hair was being brushed. "In a matter of days, my little boy's going off on his own." A woman said as she smiles at the teen in front of her as she brushed his black to silver hair ,making sure to avoid his red and black horns. "I'm sure as the rules go, I'm allowed to come back and visit my family mom."

"Yes that is true. But the very thought of you leaving my side for even two minutes almost brings tears to my eyes, my sweet little boy..all grown up." The mother said as she turned the chair her son was in as she stared into his crimson eyes before smiling at him as she kissed his forehead, glancing at the bright halo that floated above his head. "Take good care of yourself in the other world." The mother said as she allowed her son to get up from the chair as he hugged her. "I will."

"Leaving without saying goodbye to your own siblings!? Kinda harsh dont ya' think?" The son turned to the deep voice behind him. "Big Brother!" A little blonde girl with crimson red eyes ran to him with her arms outstretched. The little girl giggled as her brother picked her up, lifting her high in the air before hugging her. "I was just taking a quick look at the door. I'd never leave without saying goodbye to my bestest little friend, Cassie." Cassie giggled in her brother's arms before he set her down as he went to give his oldest brother a high-five. His brother, unlike him, had grey hair and yellow eyes. "Try not to get into any trouble while you're out there. You're half and half so chances are...punishments might be worse for you than if you were just a demon or an angel." The boy now known as an angel-demon turned to his younger brother, he was only two years younger than him, his hair was fully white as his eyes was like his older brothers, yellow. "You'll come back and visit right?!" Cassie said as she hugged her brother's leg. "Of course." He said as he showed her a blur of a smile causing the girl to giggle.

He fiddled around with his trench coat's sleeve as he walked a long corridor. He hummed a small quiet song, keeping his mind occupied on the task at hand. He then glanced up as he approached an old angel who was sitting down beside a wall with a table to his side. "It's been a few days. Your time has come where you can leave and become what you were trained to be. A guardian." The son nodded at the man before him as he then watched said man reach his hand to the table where many types of jewelry were placed. "You may only take a pair. One for you, the other for the person you must protect. Sure you will be placed near their location the moment you leave us all but it'll take a while to find your human. Once you find them you must give them their piece. With it, You'll know where they are, no matter the distance. You'll be able to know if they are in trouble as well, so take care of your piece with extreme caution..you won't be able to do your job without it." The man said as the younger boy looked over the pieces of jewelry. He glanced at a few pieces, finding them a bit too flashy for his liking, til his eyes landed on two rings, one with a black gemstone with a red hint to it while the other had a shiny pearl with a hint of blue to it. He picked up the pair of rings, showing them to the angel in front of him. "Very well..I must say..it's quite a shock that the council is allowing a half angel-demon breed to become a guardian. I wish you great luck". The boy nodded at the angel before walking further into the corridor.

'Todays the day.' He thought to himself.

Music blasted in the car as it drove on a narrow road. A seventeen year old boy with a dark complexion smiled to himself as he bobbed his head to the beat of the music, the lyrics he didn't like but the beat was perfect nonetheless. "Only a few more days and you'll be at the farm with me for the vacation. Excited?" The boy turned to the man driving the car, his father who was smiling as he took a turn on the road. "Mhm..I wouldn't have to deal with you know who for awhile." The boy said before looking back outside the window, his father glanced at him with worry in his eyes. "How has things been going at home though?"

"Same old..same old.she almost made me throw away grandma's watch..I took it out the garbage without her knowing though, luckily the garbage at the time had papers in it though."

"You know how your mother is but..you have to try and get along with her as best as you can, despite the negative words, random complaining, the-"

"The random moments where her anger gets the best of her? The fact she won't accept me for being who I-" The boy paused as he glared at his father who caught a glimpse of the cut close to his son's bright brown right eye before sighing. "Alexander...You know I love you...I try my best to make sure I do everything I could for you. Your mother..she tries..but she..the best I can tell you is hope for something good to show itself okay?" Alexander's glare softened as he turned back to look out the window once more. As the car continued to drive, they stopped at a stop light. Alexander looked around the area before putting down his window when his father turned off the ac in the car. The boy sighed as the wind caused his hair to blow in her face.

"Meow"

Alexander turned to the cat near his window, smiling at it. The grey furred cat with stripes of a darker grey stared at him with its amber eyes as the boy stared back at it with his brown eyes. "Hellooo~" Alexander said to the cat, earning a meow from it once again before the light turned green and his father drove off. Alexander waved farewell to the cat as they both continued to stare at each other until they were out of sight of each other.

Alexander's smile grew as he got to his home. Picking up his school bag from the backseat, he waved his father goodbye as he drove off. Alexander rushed to his front door, unlocking it. He opened the door and walked in, his smile got even bigger, seeing no one in sight. "Great she's not home!" Alexander cheered before quickly placing his backpack down in his room before he turned on some music on his phone before he began getting ready to take a shower and relax before his mother got home. Once Alexander was out his clothes and into some casual clothes he sat on his bed, going into his backpack taking out his pencil case and a small sketchpad. He didn't get any homework, seeing how it was the last week of school before summer vacation. He opened his sketchpad to a page as he hummed to a song that was playing.

Houdini by Aviva.

The teen brushed his hair out his face before getting started on his art. Alexanders room was covered with pages of art drawn by him and photos taken by a camera of his that sat on his desk. Alexander usually found time to draw after he did all the stuff he was to do, depending on the setting. If she was at school, hell wait til after he finished his work from classes or even draw at lunch or at home-time while he chatted with his friends. If he was home, hed have the time to draw at night since during the day he would be up and about doing things his mother asked his to do. Alexander smiled to himself as he finished the drawing of the cat he had a staring contest with on the way home, signing and dating the picture he tossed his sketchpad on his desk before going to his laptop as he went online, checking to see if his friends made it home already. Soon enough he saw his friends chatting away with each other in a group chat, sometimes he would see little insults thrown at one friend to another but he knew all was well. He began typing. "Guess whose home."

"Johnny Test?" One of Alexanders friends replied earning a laugh from him. "Funny funny."

Alexander spent a few hours talking to his friends all while drawing and playing online games before he heard the sound of a car pulling up. He frowned while pleading in his head, hoping it wasn't who he thought it was but the sound of the front door opening and closing confirmed that it was indeed...his mother. "Alexander! Where are you!?" Alexander, as quiet as he could, sighed before rushing to his mother. "Here, how was your-"

"Put my bags in my room, take the groceries out the trunk, lock the car and pack away the groceries for me." Alexanders mother said before sitting down on a nearby couch before going on her phone. Alexander sent a quick glare at the woman before doing what he was told.

"Alexander! Bring that cushion for me, my feet are hurting me." Alexander who was just about to go back into his room after completing his tasks, bit his lip before acting as obedient as he could as he rest the cushion by his mothers feet. He was about to retreat back to his room when a loud enough 'hmph' was heard. Alexander, already feeling the glare from his mother, turned back around and placed the woman's feet on the cushion before going back to his room, gritting his teeth at the relaxed sigh that escaped his mother's mouth. "You're using your brain. Good boy." His mother said as Alexander just stepped into his room.

He hated it when his mother said that, it made him feel like he was nothing to her but a dog. A servant waiting for their masters orders. As he sat back down at his desk she was about to go back onto his laptop.

"Your father told you anything about money for me?"

"He said he's still getting the last bit for this month."

"Well he better hurry! I need to get my hair done for Saturday!"

"Last time I checked that money was to mind me." Alexander muttered under his breath. "Whatchu say?!" Alexanders eyes widened as his chest burned as he tried to prepare a lie. "I said When he was taking about it, he said he needed to get another 50 which he'll get from a client soon." Alexander lied, quietly releasing the breath he was holding once he heard her mother happily shouted an okay at him. Alexander continued to look at his laptop, plugging in his earphones leaving one bud out incase his mother wanted him to do some task for her again and reopened a tab he was using before.

Alexander slept soundly in his room, his sketchpad in his loose grasp, only being held up right as the other side of it was on the ground. It soon left Alexander's grip as a paw knocked it out of his grasp. Glowing amber eyes stared at the page the sketchpad was opened. The grey cat from the side of the road. A purr rumbled from the throat of the owner of the amber eyes before they turned to a page way before the one of the cat. Letting out a slight hint of delight as they saw a creature on a page, it was just a body, dressed in a somewhat black steampunk trenchcoat with a silver trim here and there, its head was nothing but a wisp with a stone expression. Alexander shifted in his sleep before opening his eyes, see his sketchpad on the floor. He sighed before picking it up and tossing it over to his desk, turning over to the other side he began to doze off again, unaware of the amber eyes in the corner of his room.

'After three days...I finally found you.'
