2: WE'RE GOING ON A FEELS TRIP!

When everyone had stopped screaming and the Nurse had taken some Tylenol for her headache, Kennedy was told that she was to go home with the girl who had been leaning over her. Apparently, her parents hadn't picked up their phones (which was honestly no surprise) and Miss Bambi couldn't spend the entire day with her. So the girl, Cerci, had volunteered to drive her home.

It was awkward.

Kennedy coughed as Carci drove.

"So, um, you wanna listen to music?" Cerci asked, and Kennedy nodded. "Go ahead and plug in your phone." Kennedy did so and scrolled through her music, choosing her favorite. As it started to play, Cerci glanced over at her.

"Marilyn Manson? He makes some good music. The Beautiful People, huh?" she asked. Kennedy gaped at her. "What?"

"I didn't think that you would like Marilyn Manson..." Ken mumbled, looking away.

"Oh, I love him! My favorite song of his is Disposable Teens," Cerci laughed. "Hey, do you listen to Skillet?"

"Duh," Ken smiled. "They rock. I really love Monster."

"Same," Cerci grinned. They continued to talk about their favorite songs and bands. All too soon, they had reached Ken's house.

"Bye..." Ken said, stepping out of the car, backpack slung over her shoulder. "Maybe we could hang out sometime soon?"

"Hold on!" Cerci pulled out a shiny rose gold iphone and handed it to Kennedy. "You put your number in my phone and I'll put mine in yours. Then we can talk whenever!"

Kennedy pulled her shabby black phone out and handed it to Cerci, who quickly typed something in before handing it back.

"CC?" Ken asked, looking at the number name. Cerci smiled sheepishly.

"It's what my friends call me." Ken grinned then typed in her number.

"Then call me Ken, alright friend?" she said, giving Cerci's phone back.

"Deal... Friend."

"Kennedy! Get down here, your father will be home at any moment!" Ken sighed as her mother screamed from downstairs. "You have to make dinner!"

"Coming, mom!" Ken yelled, setting her phone down.

"Now, Kennedy!"

Ken groaned and trudged downstairs, glaring at her mom and earning herself a slap across the cheek.

"And I would do more, but that alone going to form a bruise," her mom snapped. "And God knows that I can't go to jail. It would put a spot on my record!"

Kennedy sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Don't give me that smartass shit!" her mother barked. "I will punch you in the stomach again!"

Kennedy winced and her fingers lingered around the yellowish spot, all that remained of the several weeks she had spent forcing herself to eat without wincing.

"That's right, now shut up and start cooking!" Kennedy didn't need to be told twice; she ran for the kitchen and started grabbing ingredients for chocolate cake and gourmet chicken. She had just set the table with the food and dishes when her father walked in.

"Ken!" he smiled, hugging her and kissing her head. "How was school?"

"It was good, Dad," Ken grinned. Her father stroked her now black and blue cheek with his thumb.

"What happened here?" he asked. Ken flinched, but forced a smile. She had enough practice to make it look real... unfortunately.

"Um... the sidewalk wanted to say hello to my cheek," she giggled, hating how fake it was. Her father snorted and sat down.

"I hope you like dinner!" Ken's mother hollered from the kitchen, accompanied by the sound of running water. "I worked hard on it- and desert!" Kennedy bit back a scowl.

"Thank you, Christie!" Ken's father yelled back, then took a bite of the chicken. "Mmm... Your mother cooks just as good as always, Ken. Say, I wonder what she prepared for desert." Kennedy laughed. She loved how her father always made her do that. She loved how her father could always cheer her up, no matter how bad she was feeling. Sadly, he wasn't around all that often, leaving Ken alone with her tyrant of a mother.

"She made a cake," Ken whispered, leaning forward.

"God help me," her father whispered back. "I won't be able to control myself." Kennedy giggled. If her dad ever tasted her mother's cooking, he'd be begging Ken to cook- which she did anyways.

"Sit down, Ken, I want you to eat," Kennedy's mother said, coming into the room. Kennedy nodded and sat down.

Kennedy lay in her bed, smiling as she watched a small blue glowing girl in a flowing red dress dance in the air. Her long dress waved gently as she ran. Trees sprang up, and the girl froze. Ken frowned in confusion as the sound of barking filled her ears. The girl suddenly ran for the trees, only to be stopped by a man. The man swung a spear and pierced the girl's neck, causing her to fall to her knees. Kennedy tried to scream, but coughed up blood instead. Her throat began to burn, and she put her fingertips to her neck to feel something sticky; blood. Kennedy tried to breath, but only succeeded in choking on more blood.

"S-stop!" Ken managed to croak, and all images vanished, leaving her gasping for air in the dark.
