Chapter 3: Adoption?

(After re-reading the last chapter to continue writing this one, I realized that Moxxie's name autocorrects to Moxie. It's not a huge problem but I'm going to have to read what I wrote even more carefully from now on.)

(Y/n) Pov.

As Moxxie and Millie lead me to I.M.P headquarters we chat about random topics, well, at least Millie and I do. Moxxie seems a bit upset about something. I decide to ignore it and continue to speak to Millie, however, she catches me off guard with her next question, "So, (Y/n), how long have ya been in hell?" She asked with her southern accent I've quickly come accustomed to. I slow my speed as I rub my chin in thought, I don't really know how long I've been in hell. While there are visible days and nights with the fires darkening every night, I never really bothered to keep track of time considering I was hunting down my family and whatnot.

I look back at the two imps as they wait for my answer, "Don't know. But, probably a month, maybe two." I said, guessing my time in hell. Moxxie looks at me confused while Millie just continues to smile, "You've been in hell for over a month and you're just now deciding to get a job!?" Moxxie asked shocked, only receiving a nod from me. He grumbles about something and crosses his arms while pouting like a child as we all continue toward I.M.P, Millie never dropping smile along the way. As we spoke to each other, I felt something I hadn't known for a long time, companionship. Since my time in hell, I've never truly spoken to anyone other to learn of my old family's whereabouts, and speaking to Millie in such a friendly manner was refreshing to say the least.

"We're here!" Millie suddenly shouted, stopping in front of a large, multistory building with tinted windows and a surprising number of striped horns with varying sizes at the top of the building, topping off its strange appearance. Millie practically throws open the door, holding it open long enough for me to slip through and Moxxie shortly after.

After making it inside, I take a second to take in my surroundings. To my right is a small waiting area with a couple of couches next to a table with magazines decorating the top and an exit door nearby. On my left is a doorway that had an "employees only" sign hung up on a poorly secured nail on the door. Quickly taking a peek into the room, I see a fairly large kitchen area that bled into a dining area in the back left portion of the room. As I pull my head out of the room, I look closer at the lobby itself, it was average size with grey carpeting and pink striped wallpaper with a deep red trim.

Unfortunately, my time is cut short by Moxxie who had been leaning up against the empty receptionist desk while waiting for me, "You done?!" He asked me impatiently with a tap of his foot. I glare at him and nod, slightly scaring him as he leads me upstairs and to what I believe is a conference room. But, before we are able to go inside, we all freeze as we hear a deep growl coming from the room in front of us, "What is that?" I ask, more confused than scared unlike Moxxie who has hidden behind Millie. Millie sighs as she pulls Moxxie out from behind him and strokes his hair while holding him, "It's just Loona, you go in and say hi to Blitzo. I'll deal with this..." She said as she sat Moxxie down on a chair in the hall I hadn't noticed before. I nod and go into the room, shutting the door behind me as I do so.

When I step into the room, I'm met with more confusion as I see a hellhound sat at a long conference table being nuzzled by a taller imp dressed in a sharp black suit.

I clear my throat, attempting to get their attention and announce my presence. Luckily, the imp, who I assume is Blitzo, hears me and glances in my direction. However, rather than greeting me like a normal person as I had expected, he gasps and launches himself at me, knocking us to the ground with a wide smile, "Look Loona, another hell hound!" He says excitedly. Loona looks at me out of the corner of her eye and grunts, turning her body away from me and making it impossible to see her face. Blitzo doesn't notice this though, as he starts bouncing up and down like a child in a pet store, "So... What's your name?!" He asked me, still standing on my chest, both feet firmly planted in the center making it a bit hard to breathe.

Before I had the chance to say anything, Millie and Moxxie come into the room to investigate the crash they heard. As soon as the two of them enter, Blitzo jumps off of me, "Guys, look! I found him standing behind Loony and I! Can I keep him? Can I keep him pleeeaase?" He asked, grabbing me and holding me close to him, making him seem more and more like a child as he draws out his plea. Moxxie rubs his temples in frustration, seemingly to have gotten over his panic attack, "Sir, you are our boss. Why would you need permission from us to do anything?" He asked, throwing his arms up into the air, "And what do you mean 'keep him'?! He's a person, not some kind of pet!" He exclaimed angrily before stomping over to a chair and falling into it.

Blitzo stops for a moment as if he had realized that I indeed was not some animal you could gift to a nephew for the holidays, "I guess you're right..." He said sadly. Moxxie smiles as he sits up in his chair, "Finally! You understand -" Moxxie is suddenly cut off, along with my airflow, as Blitzo tightly hugs my neck again, "Then it's official, as of right now, he is now a part of our family!" He says, getting a clap from Millie, another sigh from Moxxie, and a long stare from Loona... Wait, no, she's staring at me, weird.

After Blitzo forced me to join their "family", he starts some kind of interview with some very personal questions, "So what's your name?" He asked me as he sat down in the seat across from me, pulling out a pencil and clipboard, "Um, my name is (Y/n)..." I said as Blitzo scribbled something on the paper. But, rather than asking me another question, he sat there as if he were waiting for something else, "T-that's it... Just (Y/n)." I stuttered, sinking into my chair and crossing my arms, feeling a bit uncomfortable with how everyone was watching me. Blitzo nodded and wrote something else down on his clipboard, "Alright... Any previous experience in killing? You know, like murder?" He asked as he made a slashing motion with his pen. I nod as I think back to the many people I've killed, both in hell and back on earth after I escaped that retched basement. Blitzo smiles as he continues to write stuff down on his clipboard, "Great! Now for the hard ones. Are you sexually active?" He asked as he hunched over and rested his head on his hands as if he were about to listen to me tell him a story.

I look at him confused beyond belief and glance at the others at the table, wondering if this were some kind of joke. However, all I see is Moxxie passed out in his chair, Millie waiting as if it were a story similar to Blitzo, and Loona who was listening in, ignoring the game over screen on her phone. I look back at Blitzo who has gotten even more comfortable than before, "Well, I was, at least in the living world. But, after coming to hell, I was busy until now, so not really." I said, technically telling the truth as I scratch the back of my neck, feeling strangely embarrassed. Blitzo nodded, not bothering to write anything down anymore, "Okay, so you're sad and lonely?" He said with a smirk, trying to get a reaction from me. But, I just smile with half-lidded eyes, "Yep, minus the sad." I said as I leaned back in my chair and placed my feet up on the table, unintentionally mirroring Loona in my attempt to act cool. He smiles and leans even further onto the table, "Great, you'll fit in perfectly!"

Blitzo laughs as he jumps off of the table, startling Moxxie awake as he let's out a scream. Blitzo walks up to the front of the room where there is a pull-down curtain on the wall, and once he lifts the curtain, a whiteboard with what I assume is our income drawn on along with some other doodles, "So, I know that business has been a bit slow lately, yes, and it's no one's fault!" He says holding his hands up in a defensive manner, "I'm not naming any names here... Moxxie." He said with a quick glance at the confused imp as he continued to speak, "Now does anyone have any bright ideas on how we can get business drumming up again?" He asked as he looked at the table of people in front of him.

Millie quickly stands up and raises her hand high, "What about a car wash?" She suggested excitedly as a twinkle comes to her eye. Unfortunately, Blitzo doesn't really like the idea, "This is hell, Millie. No one cares about cars being cleaned here, okay?" He said, placing a hand on his chin as he delved into thought. However, he is quickly brought out with a much more dramatic twinkle as he raised his hands in front of his face, "Ooh, what about a billboard?" He said with enthusiasm. Now it was Moxxie's turn to jump in, "We can't afford a billboard, sir." He said, crossing his arms and looking away from Blitzo with his poor attitude.

Suddenly, Blitzo appears next to him as he grabs Moxxie, bringing them closer together, "Helpful, Moxxie. Really glad you're in the room right now." He said sarcastically as he roughly pushes Moxxie away from him and to the floor. Then, he turns to me with a hopeful smile, "What about you (Y/n)? Do you have any ideas?" He asked me as I drifted into thought. In the living world, a great way to be known was through media, especially the news like when... Nah, a story for another time. I return my attention back to Blitzo who was waiting patiently for my response, "What about the news? Doesn't hell have like a channel 666 or something?" I said jokingly as I sit upright in my chair again.

Millie nodded with a big smile on his face, "Great thinking (Y/n)! But how will we get on 666 News...?" She asked as she looked back to Blitzo. Blitzo sighs as he grabs a remote from the table, "Have you guys forgotten what service we provide?!" He asked us, using the remote to turn on an old tv off the side as it played the same jingle that inspired me to look for I.M.P in the first place.

During the video, I lean towards Loona who was seated in the chair on my right, "Are they always like this?" I asked her referring to the odd trio in front of us watching the ad. She sighs and takes her eyes off her phone to look at me, "Yeah, but you'll get used to it." She said before she went back to ignoring everyone and everything. However, as she spoke, I had suddenly become fixated of her body and its large curves, being unable to pry my eyes away as I'm held captive by an unknown force...

(Sorry it took so long, but, here is chapter 3! Now that you're apart of I.M.P, it should get slightly easier as your story unfolds while Loona slowly falls for you. Also, for the people who keep commenting about hoping not to be disappointed, please hold off on those comments and just read for now. I'm not calling you out or anything, I'm just asking you to trust me and my writing.)
