Short 23: Andrealphus' Visit

One day, in the Goetia mansion, Amara is doing some of the paperwork in her bedroom. Even though she's out of the hospital, Blitz recognizes doing remote work and taking care of the paperwork at home so she can get some rest. She had lost some blood, and had been badly injured by angelic weapons. As of now, Amara is doing a remote meeting with Blitz.

"And I think I've given you everything you need to do," Blitz says.

"It's no problem. I'll be sure to get everything done," Amara says.

"Thanks kid," Blitz says.

Then asks, "So how are you feeling?"

"I'm doing a little better, but the doctor said I should have a little more time before being able to do the line of work," Amara says.

"Yeah. I getcha." Blitz says. "Anyway, better get going. The crew and I have like eighteen more heads to roll and some of them are going to be hard hits. I'll have Loona come by in a few days to pick up some of the stupid papers."

"Sounds like fun," Amara says. "See you around and try not to get yourselves killed."

Amara hangs up the call from her phone and continues to write down some of the paperwork she needs to do.

Amara looks at the stacks of paper, she sighs and says, "I've got my work cut out for me."

Amara then stands up, "I can use a drink."

Amara leaves the room and walks by the foyer to head to the kitchen, until she hears a knock at the door.

"Strange. Roy isn't out of school for another few hours. Maybe it's a visitor," Amara says to herself.

Amara walks towards the door and opens it to see Andrealphus.

"Hello there, my dear," Andrealphus says.

"Um hello," Amara replies, confused, "Who might you be?"

"Do pardon the sudden visit, but I just had to see you, my darling niece," Andrealphus says.

"Niece...?" Amara says, confused.

And quickly realizes, "Oh, I'm guessing you're one of my relatives."

"Indeed I am. Marquis Andrealphus of the Ars Goetia, a pleasure to meet you. I'm also Stella's brother and your uncle," Andrealphus says.

"Nice to meet you," Amara says.

Then asks, "Would you like to come in?"

"Of course, my dear. I do apologize for the sudden visit, but I had to meet you in person, Amara. Of course, your original name is Maribelle. I think we should chat over some tea. I'll tell the servants to have some tea prepared for us." Andrealphus says as he walks inside the mansion.

"Uh yeah," Amara says.

In her thoughts, Amara says, confused, "That was unexpected that my uncle decided to visit me. But still, I need to be calm about this. From what dad explained, Andrealphus might know about mom's attempt on dad's life. This is just a quiet visit and that's that."

Moments later, Amara and Andrealphus are outside in the back courtyard having tea.

"So Amara, if you don't mind me asking, how does it feel to have artificial limbs?" Andrealphus questions.

"Well. I must admit, I used to hate them. Mainly because it was a terrible reminder of when I lost my adopted parents and my home was destroyed. I also almost lost my little brother in the process," Amara explains.

"Yes. I remember Octavia talking about that, especially how close with that little Imp boy," Andrealphus says.

Amara calmly says, "He has a name, Roy Gunner. And my name is Amara Gunner."

"Perhaps, but you have to remember that isn't your birth name. After all you are a Goetia, and part of the royal family," Andrealphus says.

Amara sighs, "I do know that, but I feel a bit out of place. I haven't been a princess for a long time, so trying to fit into my birth family, part of the Goetia Family, is a bit of a skeptic. Despite that, I try to live the life I still have while trying to accept the new."

"I see," Andrealphus says, "Sounds to me that you're still rather uneasy about living in the Goetias after all these years."

"I suppose," Amara says.

"Yes. I've been curious since my dear sister Stella, and my niece Octavia talk about you. I've also been hearing your father talk quite a bit about you. You seem to be quite a unique girl. Having artificial limbs, able to fight and kill doesn't require that much magic. If you weren't really my niece, I would have mistaken you for a Wrathian," Andrealphus says.

"Um yeah. I guess that's one way to put it," Amara replies.

"Indeed," Andrealphus says, "However, looking at you, you seem to remind me of my dear sister, including how attractive you are and vile you can be."

Amara says in thought, "I don't know if that was a compliment or not."

"I see. So I remind you of my birth mother," Amara says.

"Quite right," Andrealphus says.

After taking a sip of tea, Andrealphus says, "And still, it's astonishing to hear that you've been in the hospital after performing a rather daring and reckless rescue of your father."

"Yeah... I did," Amara says. And then mutters, "And still kept the knife that bastard stabbed me with."

"Beg pardon?" Andrealphus questions.

Amara sighs, "It's nothing. Nothing you need to worry about. And yes, I've been placed in the hospital. Of course, it's not my first time ending up in a hospital. And I'm certain this might not be the last."

"Yes. Mainly because of the kind of job you were in," Andrealphus says.

"Uh yeah," Amara says.

"Hmm, well I have to admit, your situation is very unique. A Goetia has never been raised by Imps before," Andrealphus says.

Amara looks at the Goetia with a confused expression.

"With your time in Wrath, you seem to be rather resourceful. And quite skilled to be quite the fighter," Andrealphus says.

He then walks to Amara and says, "However, you must know that it's rather unnatural for a Goetia to be like a low class imp. Working hard, building up strength, having to be surrounded by poor Imps. Not to mention having the misfortune of such a tragedy to a mysterious overlord." He then places his hand on her shoulder, "And I can imagine that you might want some revenge on them for 'wronging' you and your family. And I'm sure you'll be strong enough to find this ruffian. Even though there is a possibility of your demise."

"Riiiiight," Amara says, remaining calm and gently removes Andrealphus' hands off of her shoulders.

Andrealphus then says, "But I'm sure you can handle it. From what Via explained to me, you are quite an intelligent, strong, and independent individual, so I'm sure you'll be able to handle things when the time comes."

Amara feels a rather chill of her spin.

Shortly after the little tea and chat, Andrealphus takes his leave.

"So long Amara, I do hope you'll make time to come by my humble abode very soon," Andrealphus says.

"Okay. Have a good day. Bye," Amara says, and closes the door once he leaves.

Amara feels her whole body shiver as she wraps her arms around herself.

"I don't know why, but Uncle Andrealphus really gave me the creeps. It really sends shivers down my spine," Amara says. "If I ever decide to visit him, I'll have to bring a jacket."
