Chapter 5: Why He Targeted Her
Jamie and Loona protected Via as they headed back to I.M.P.
Once there, Via sat on the couch while Loona called Blitzø.
“Loonie, what’s wrong?” Blitzø asked.
“We got attacked by Striker. Via’s a bit shaken up and Jamie's calling Stolas,” Loona told him.
“Saves me the trouble,” he commented then said, “We’re on our way.”
At the same time, Jamie was on the phone with Stolas.
“Jamie, what’s going on?” Stolas asked.
“We got attacked by a demon cowboy named Striker. Via’s a little shaken, but she’s unharmed. Loona’s also calling the others,” she informed.
“I’m on my way,” he said without hesitation.
Then they all showed up and checked on the others.
“What the f*ck does that d*ckhead cowboy want now?” Moxxie remarked.
“He wants me,” Jamie said, making them confused, then she went on, “We originally assumed he was after Via, so Loona protected her while I fought him off. But he said they weren’t who he was after.”
“I’m gonna f*cking kill that bastard!” Blitzø declared.
“Can I ask what he’s done?” Jamie wondered.
“Oh, not much. Just tried to kill Stolas, almost killed Moxxie and Millie twice, captured Stolas to kill him when it was called off but he wanted to take his eye out, threatened Via to his face, kidnapped one of my old friends, and most of it was because he was hired by Stolas’s bitch of an ex-wife!” Blitzø answered, exploding at the end.
“The ‘kidnaped one of my old friends’ part was when he was hired by my father,” Moxxie said.
“He’s bad news, baby. Not one you wanna mess with,” Millie added.
“Well, he’s messing with her. She kept him off her the entire time they fought,” Loona stated.
“But we know he’ll be back. And I have a hunch of who hired him because I doubt he’s after me with a grudge of his own,” Jamie replied.
“You believe it’s Stella, don’t you?” Stolas guessed.
“Think about it. She wants you dead, I’m close to you and Via for taking me in when you could’ve turned me away, it only makes sense she would want me dead too,” Jamie stated.
“We can’t argue with that. But just watch your back whenever you come here. I won’t make you stay in Heaven since you’re too damn stubborn; just keep your guard up,” Blitzø said.
Jamie smiled and responded, “I appreciate that. Even if I should object to being stubborn.”
The others didn’t agree with the last part. Jamie knew she had her hands full with this assassin after her, but she wasn’t afraid, very much the opposite.
Meanwhile, Striker wasn’t really too happy about the lack of information Stella failed to mention: his target was an angel! He made it back to Wrath when he called Stella.
“Hello?” Stella said.
“You didn’t tell me my target was an angel,” Striker remarked.
She sighed in annoyance and stated, “That doesn’t matter. I just want her dead.”
“Well angels don’t go down so easily! Do I need to f*cking spell it out for you before you realize she more than likely can’t be killed?!” he shouted.
“That is not true. They can be killed; it’ll just be more challenging. There’s a difference. And if you still think otherwise, I’ll pay you three times what I would pay you,” Stella replied.
Striker sighed in frustration before saying, “Five times the amount. Taking down an angel is worth a hefty price.”
He hung up before she had the chance to object. He then headed back to his canyon until morning would come.

A/N Well, I.M.P. has Jamie’s back, but Striker isn’t happy with Stella’s miscommunication. She better keep her eyes peeled for the demon cowboy.
