Chapter 3- Eyes on the Prize
Couldn't fit the whole comic in the top. Sue me. (please don't actually tho)
"We're here at the castle." Everyone donned serious looks, marching through and up six hundred sixty-six floors. Few in the group were relatively unaffected. Surprisingly, Y/N was among them not winded.
"C'mon, BJ! You were slow before but now you're like a snail!" he laughed, jogging in place for a moment to mock him.
"You're the one who always insisted on those stupid challenges!" Helltaker huffed, holding onto the rail as he forced himself up each step. Malina was nearly vomiting, not used to so much physical activity.
"So does that mean I'm better than you?" Y/N teased, immediately getting an emphatic response.
"HELL NO! I'LL SHOW YOU WHO'S BETTER!" Helltaker roared, climbing up faster and right behind his brother.
"Little shit... thinks he's so... fast..." the beefier of the two brothers huffed. The two raced each other further and further up the stairs. Each step was another towards the top, and each landing only seemed to drain the Helltaker further of energy. Finally reaching the top, however, the younger of the two agreed to let him rest.
"You did good BJ but we're working on your cardio when we get back. Can't have you getting eaten by zombies right?" Each of the demons watched the two go at each other, back and forth as Y/N handed Helltaker a bottle.
"Drink. You're gonna need it if you want to schmooze your way out of here." The demons and one angel smiled at the interaction. Brothers through thick and thin; they'd make it to the end, even if they had to drag each other through Hell. Though it seemed clear who was going to be dragging who.
A line of skeletons blocked their path and Helltaker did the only obvious thing- walking around them. After politely kicking- I mean moving the one in front of the large desk, Lucifer took a sip of the wine she held.
"So you're the one who's been brute forcing their way through my puzzles. I must say, I'm quite impressed. Swear to serve me and I'll let them go." She grinned, thinking he'd just give in.
"Right, and I'm Saint Celestine," Y/N said sarcastically. Malina immediately recognized the name and was curious as to how the apparent jock of the group knew anything about Warhammer. Azazel, however, was immediately excited.
"You're a Saint?!" The mortal's smile fell slightly.
"Sorry, Halo, it was sarcasm. I'm no Saintly figure." He patted the young angel's head before immediately realizing something.
"You've got seriously silky hair, Halo, is that natural or do you do something to it?"
"STOP IGNORING ME!" Everyone turned to see a very frustrated Lucifer.
"Awe, is someone upset they're not getting enough attention?" Y/N teased.
"Sorry about my kid brother. He's always like this," Helltaker said, smirking mischievously.
"Hey, I'm not ALWAYS like this. I'm just a little riled up from how easy this has been! And I can feel there's a challenge not too far away." Lucifer smirked.
"Then how about this then? If you can beat the current High Prosecutor, Judgement, then I'll join your little harem." Lucifer smiled with the energy of a truly smug individual.
"Are we talking about a fist fight or a legal battle? Because I'm not exactly a law student," Y/N said, half joking and half serious.
"Bro, you might want to be a little more serious about this. Judgement is no joke. I would know; I trained her," Justice said, putting a hand on Helltaker's shoulder.
"Did you get taller or is this not Y/N?" The two brothers laughed.
"Wrong beefcake, but I'll take it under advisement."
Lucifer led Y/N to the Sin Machine, Judgement immediately perking up at the sight of a living mortal.
"LUCIFER! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE THIS MORTAL PUNISHED?!" she asked loudly. Before anyone could speak, Y/N leaped down onto the Sin Machine and pointed up at her.
"We're gonna fight, you and I! DON'T HOLD BACK!" he laughed, causing Judgement to laugh as well.
"VERY WELL, MORTAL! PREPARE TO DIE!" Judgement sprung into the air, landing down on the surface of the Sin Machine. It felt odd being down there, standing before the mortal. Most would be begging for their lives, yet this one had some vague understanding of her strength and still stood tall before her and wanted a fight. The thought of a living mortal being able to stand so firm excited her. It was like two battle maniacs getting ready to duke it out.
"I WON'T GO DOWN SO EASY!"
