Chapter 19- Want A Moment To Be Real

The remaining three demons went through their trials, one after another. Each one was more confident than when they went in. Justice and Beelzebub seemed the least changed, both already having mellowed out either before or during their time with Y/N. Judgement had her head downcast, walking directly towards the human the High Prosecutor was harboring an intense romantic attraction. Justice was the first to jump on Judgement's trail, a fair bit of concern on her face. Beelzebub had a slight frown, chasing the two down with a sense of competition. Being more laid back than almost any of the other demons the two brothers had encountered as well as having been bested before by the other easy-going demon invited a semblance of competition between them. And while not exactly the main focus of Justice's departure from God's chapel, both were certainly eager to see Y/N again.

"I'm so glad I got to see you again, Dad, but it looks like we're all ready to go," the three demons heard him say. Judgement broke into a sprint almost immediately. Y/n happened to turn just in time to see the white-eyed demon jump at him. Luckily the man was both fast enough to prepare for her to land in his arms and strong enough not to drop her.

"Well someone's glad to see me!" Y/N chuckled. Judgement hugged him tightly, smiling. Even Lucifer was surprised, given how reserved the High Prosecutor was with her affections towards the human.

"We will spend a lot of time together, you and I!" she stated with an uncharacteristically bright smile. The surprise on Y/N's face was short-lived, replaced with a smile.

"Of course. I wouldn't have it any other way..." The old man chuckled at the sight and couldn't resist teasing his son.

"Didn't expect you to be okay with so many fine women throwing themselves at you!" he laughed, causing Y/N to blush.

"D-DAD! Not the time!" he hissed, everyone else laughing at his expense. Eventually, Azazel got a bit jealous and jumped onto the human's back, careful not to hit Judgement or choke Y/N out. By then even he was laughing, something having gone his way for once.

"We'll miss you... Dad," Y/N and Helltaker both said. Both Judgement and Azazel got off of their favorite soul and allowed the family to hug one last time. They separated and Gabriel began to escort them back to the Heavenly Gates.

"You certainly are one strange mortal, even if you are Her Gift..." she said, a severe look still on her face.

"If being weird is the price I gotta pay to be myself then everyone else can either like it or shove it," he said, a confident grin on his face. For once, Gabriel smiled.

"Of course. Take care of Azazel. I'll admit, it was... nice to see her again," the archangel said, appearing to soften up for a moment before quickly returning to her more serious demeanor.

"You don't even know the half of it," Y/N said, chuckling to himself. He looked back at everyone for a moment. They were all pestering Helltaker about their family and whatnot. Even Zdrada seemed to have at least come to understand the emotions that lead to her being twisted into a pretzel.

"Between you and me, I don't subscribe to the idea that Heaven is one place. My 'heaven' is wherever they are," he said, Gabriel nodding.

"I suppose that's one way to look at it. We'll be monitoring you from here, so if you absolutely need Divine Intervention, it'll be available." Y/N chuckled nervously.

"I really hope that's a joke," he said, looking up at Gabriel to see she was serious.

"Shit you're not kidding. ALRIGHT GUYS! WE ARE LEAVING!" Y/N called, everyone getting together as they were taken back down to the mortal realm. Upon getting back, Y/N seemed to relax a bit. The others noticed this change and had become slightly concerned. After so much, they'd not seen him like this. He trudged over to the couch and seemed to collapse onto it, groaning in relief.

"As much as I loved seeing Dad again, that was exhausting..." he sighed, closing his eyes. Lucifer smiled and grabbed a blanket from a hamper in the corner of the living room. When she laid it over top of him, the human smiled. Helltaker, however, seemed to disappear into the kitchen. The massive beefcake closed the door behind him and kept everyone out, no one really sure of what was going on. The smell of his cooking seemed to answer some questions but the problem was they had no idea what or why he was cooking. After Y/N's reaction, they'd have thought they were both exhausted.

"Taker? Are you alright?" Lucifer asked.

"Cooking. Don't worry," was all she got in response. Regardless, they would have to let him be. After all, breaking down another door is just as likely to get them sent back to Hell. By the time Lucifer looked back, a certain rabbit demon took advantage of her smaller form.

"Damn you, Daisy! It's my turn God damn it!"
