Rebelion
The Kingdom of Spain and The Colony Philippines
[[Philippines]]
It was just another normal day at Spain's house. Romano and Spain pluck tomatoes from vines while I pluck mangoes from trees, which is not too far from them.
After filling the basket with ripe delicious looking mangoes, I went over to them. They seem to be having a conversation.
"Spain, I don't want to live with you anymore."
I felt my heart drop.
"Romano? Anything wrong?" Spain asks.
"Ah! Spain, you see... Romano isn't feeling well." I intervened and tried to smile.
"No! I'm feeling well! Philippines, don't even try to stop me!" Romano yells, dropping his basket of tomatoes.
Then he points at Spain. "I want to be free, Spain. I want independence!"
There was a small fight between them, just shouting and yelling. I didn't stop them, I don't have the right to stop Romano's desire to leave Spain's house.
And... the inevitable happened. They fought, and Romano won. Meaning... he has every right to leave.
"You're really going to leave?" I said, watching Romano pack his things.
"I want to be with my brother, I don't want to be with Spain anymore. He's too attached." He replied, finished packing. "I want to be on my own. I want to try living without Spain."
"I'll miss you. I'll miss hearing your yell and complains, the mess you make, and all the embarassing things you would do." I laughed to lighten up the mood.
"I'll miss your food, I'll miss the mistakes you would always do, I'll miss making fun of you... and I'll miss having someone who would look out for me." Romano stands up and looks at me.
"It was nice growing up with you." I smiled.
"Same here." He hugs me and I hugged him back.
"Don't tell this to anyone." He warns.
"Yeah... I won't." I chuckled.
The door opens, revealing Spain. We immediately let go of each other. This is going to be awkward and weird.
"Romano, please. Don't do this." Spain begs, looking hurt.
"I'm sorry Spain. No." Romano takes his bag and carries it as he leaves the room.
Spain blocks the door. "Roma-"
"I said, NO, Spain! Damn it, Spain you're too posessive and overprotective! We can't breathe! You are suffocating us, you limit our actions and I want freedom! I know you mean no harm to us and that you want what's good for us, but this is just too much!" Romano yells.
"You still treat us like kids even though we're not. You watch other nations like they're going to take us away from you. We're tired of you." Romano continues.
"I'm just taking precaution-"
"No!" I cutted him off, catching both of their attention.
"Even if you have good intentions for us, you control our actions and limit them! You think that everything you do is just right and fine!" I told him.
"You heard it from her. Now, I must get going. I need some space and time of my own." Romano brushes off Spain and leaves.
"Goodbye... Romano." I muttered, holding back my tears.
Oh dear lord, please do not make this departure tarnish the good relationship that they have. The both of them... care for each other. We three... care for each other.
(づ▶﹏◢)づ︻┳デ═一 Hetalia!
Spain's been really down lately. Who wouldn't? Romano's out of the house. Spain raised him.
He's still the same... but he's sad and... uncomfortable. His actions are... uncomfortable sometimes. He would be on the floor, he just stands straight and rets his forehead on a wall, and other things.
Not only that, he uses me to his advantage now. I am providing all the ingredients and food, I can't sleep until eleven and I wake up at four, and I work without any rests or breaks except for when I need to eat.
I pluck and choose the perfect tomatoes and put them in a basket. This will cheer Spain up! Or it'll make him remember Romano and make him sad even more. Hm...
I heard news that America also gained independence from Art. Poor England... just like Spain. I wonder how he's taking it? Art kept on telling stories about America to me... and he really cared about him. I just hope America didn't inherit Art's sharp-tongue, cooking skill, and belief on fantasy things.
Not only that, France lost Seychelles to England. I only knew when France came and told me that I was a witch. He even lost Canada to England.
How would I know that my words would become real?! Surely it's pure coincidence! Unless some of England's magical powers were transferred to me...
Once the basket was full, I went back inside the house and placed it at the middle of the dinning table. The color red of the tomatoes are vibrant and has this red hue that gives the feeling of perfection.
I suddenly feel arms wrap around my neck and my back felt weight and warmth. Spain is hugging me from behind. He rested his forehead on my shoulder.
"You won't leave me... right? You won't leave me too... right?" He says, tightening his hug around my chest.
"Yes..." I replied, feeling anxious.
This is one of what I mean when I said his actions are uncomfortable. He keeps on surprising me by hugging from behind. Like... he's overprotective and posessive. Which is much worse than before.
"Philippines... it's okay if you stay here forever... right?" He said.
I don't know why but images of my people and country showed in my mind. They starve, they'll forever work without their consent, hundreds died, their rights and freedom have been taken away.
And if this continues...
More will starve. Not only man but woman, child, and elderly will work nonstop. Thousands and thousands will die. And not only their rights and freedom was taken away... their future and dreams as well.
And how about me? Will I forever be under someones control?
"No..." I muttered, mouth quivering.
"What?" Spain lifts his head.
"Spain... why are you so protective? You're not my parent! You can't just say that we're not allowed to meet other people other than the ones you know, that we can't leave the house, and a lot more!" I yelled.
He backs away, releasing me.
"Can't you see that you're exploiting me now?"
"Why do you decide for me? Why do you choose what's right for me? Why do you exploit me? And you think that you can do whatever you want to me! That is why Romano left! You think that whatever you do to us is just right! You think everything's going to be alright no matter what even if it's not." I don't know what came over me and that I said all of these.
"Romano will not come back until you stop acting like a strict parent! Stop being so in control! I know that it's unimaginable and crazy, but we're suffocating! We can't move and act properly, we're seen as someone's underling... we want to be on our own." I wiped the tears forming in my eyes.
"Spain, give me some space. Let me breathe and have a mind of my own. Let me choose what I desire. I want to leave the house, Spain." I looked him in the eye.
Just like what I imagined, he looked surprised and hurt. "Not you too..." he says.
"Ah... ahahaha! You got me there for a second! I really thought that you're going to leave me. And besides, you can't go against me." He ruffles my hair and laughs.
I removed his hand showed him that I'm serious. "I was afraid to fight you because I know I'll hurt you, and another reason is that I'm weak. It's the truth, but seeing how England defeated you so easily... what happened to your boasts about being so strong like you said you would be?"
"Now that I met England, I now know there are nations out there who are more stronger than you. And you know what? I want to be a free country!"
Britain, or the british opened the eyes of the filipinos. Their belief changed that the Spaniards are the strongest in the world. And the filipinos also realized that if they didn't help the spaniards fight the enemy, the spaniards would have lost.
"I want to look in you in the eye as a nation of my own, not as your colony. This is war."
