Will my fucking heart beat again?
[JOHN B's VO]
That's Willow Madison. If you asked the rest of the island, they'd tell you she's the Queen Bitch of Kildare. The definition of a resting bitch face. Most people squirmed if she looked at them for too long. Her parents own a local Golf Club.
SCREEN CUTS to Willow Madison at the aforementioned Golf Club. She's wearing her hair in a ponytail with a bright red visor. She's wearing a matching red polo and a short white skirt. She's holding a golf club. Her biceps flex under the weight. She swings. A heavy whoosh as the club hits the ball.
[JOHN B's VO]
She's as kook as it gets. Rich family. Big house. Rich bitch boyfriend-- oh yeah. Rafe Cameron.
CAMERA PANS to a KEGGER. Teenagers dancing around a pool. Rafe Cameron sits on a chair, leaning onto a table and snorting cocaine. Willow Madison sits on his lap, pretending she didn't see as she sips a shirley temple.
[JOHN B's VO]
I'm pretty sure they hate each other. One of them was always doing something to piss the other off. They were both stubborn, angry, and never wanted to be wrong. Everything was always a screaming match.I've never seen them go a full day without fighting. But I've never seen their fights last a full day, either. One of them always caved.
CAMERON ESTATE. Willow storms out of the house, flicking off Rafe as he shouts at her. You're a bitch! His face is red. She is storming to a yellow car. And you're a fucking dick! She isn't crying. She's just as mad as he is. A perfect synchronization. LATER THAT NIGHT, Rafe and Willow are seen making out outside of her house, a bouquet in his hands.

If you asked me about Willow Madison, I'd probably have a different opinion.
SCREEN CUTS and John B Routledge is handing Willow a drink at the boneyard. She smiles. She looks pretty. Short black summer dress with white polkadots. She nods, raising her cup in his direction before turning away, waving to Kiara Carrera, JJ Maybank, and Pope Hayward. They all look equally surprised.
[JOHN B's VO]
She's a girl. She has an intense vinyl collection. She loves turtles. She's funny and she's witty. Sometimes, I think Pope and JJ have a thing for her. I think Pope likes that she doesn't dismiss his talk about corpses, and JJ likes that she insults him with clever jabs. They'd never admit it. It'd be far too weird. But she's not the worst of the kooks.
CAMERA PANS back to CAMERON ESTATE. An angry Willow Madison is storming to an old 2008 Volkswagen Beetle. The car has a flowery decal sticker design. The windows are rolled down, a bracelet covered arm is hanging out, holding a strawberry ice disposable vape. The girl has brown hair, brown eyes, and a seemingly permanent pout.

And that's...well, that's Juliet Sallow. Willow's step sister. Pogue turned kook. A walking beautiful disaster. She moved to Figure Eight a couple years ago, but before that she was a Pogue like us. She was our best friend. She was my first love.
OUTSIDE THE WRECK, John B is walking towards the entrance as Juliet Sallow walks out. She's in a work shirt, carrying a to-go bag of leftovers. John B's eyes light up and he smiles. Juliet's eyes move toward her shoes. She walks past him quickly, staying out of reach as she rushes towards her car.
[JOHN B's VO]
Then we broke up. We haven't spoken to her since. Well, Kiara has. The two of them stayed close. When Kiara isn't hanging with us, she's hanging with Jules. They worked at Kiara's parents restaurant together. They remained unchanged. Their friendship sworn to last forever by a pinkie promise. Kiara refused to tell me what she was up to. No matter how many times I, Pope, or JJ ask. She's okay, John B. I promise. But I didn't believe in pinkie promises anymore.
EXT. of the MADISON HOUSE. Juliet sits on the front steps, fiddling with her bracelets. Her eyes were sad and dark. She looked up and saw Paul Madison and Lindy Madison, her step father and her mother. They were fighting. Juliet was crying. Willow was standing in the front door, watching with confusion.
[JOHN B's VO]
Sometimes I wonder if she's okay. Most days I wonder. She's got a darkness following her. Has since she moved to Figure Eight and changed everything about herself. Her parents put her in therapy. They got her meds. They did everything they knew to do. But nothing could stop the shadow looming over sweet innocent Juliet Sallow.
SCREEN CUTS to Juliet Sallow. She's crying alone in her bedroom. She's muffling her sobs with her sleeve-covered hand. She's alone. She's alone. She's alone. She grabs hold of the medication bottles on her night stand, throwing them into the corner of dirty clothes. She's grabbing at her hair. She's tugging hard. She's silently screaming.
[JOHN B's VO]
Sometimes I wonder if Juliet Sallow is dead.
