||Chapter 6: Gets Stranger||

Nicky didn't want to look to far into his past.
His family, always had issues besides always working and leaving him alone.
There was also the incidents. . . With Grandma.
She scared him, he was always irritated when he came downstairs and complained about his nightmares or sleepless nights, before he even mentioned it which he never does.
She described as a. . .'Wandering Soul', when nightmares happen, she would say,'That's not dreaming, that's his soul getting into trouble.', Nicky then looked at his hands, although you wouldn't believe how damaged his hands use to be.
From the moment he woke up, his grandma would take him to the bathroom to wash his hands and she would scrub his hands till they were raw or even bleeding, even if he told her it hurt and too stop she wouldn't listen.
Another famous quote from her, was when he ran she would say,'One day you'll not make it back home.', that was the moment nightmares began and the family tension started from that and the hand washing.
It was like she could see right through him, like she was always there even when she passed.
. . .
Nicky walked around the empty neighbourhood, he thought of her because she always talked about souls or something about the supernatural, it's what got his dad and himself interested in the existence of aliens from the start.
Raven Brooks was an odd place, and his grandma was. . . Odd, so guess Nicky-
He shook his head, no.
He wanted to find the logical in this, why would there be someone walking around looking like the mascot Mr Peterson had made for one of Theme Parks he created.
Which one, he didn't know.
He was still having some brain rush from when he picked up that doll that looked like his best friend.
The town around him was quiet, that felt normal in Raven Brooks amd the only time it was loud was when something big was happening.
Snap.
Nicky froze, looking down that wasn't as the road was clear. . . Surprisingly, he looked around there he saw it.
The thing from last night, it had a yellow beak, a very dark blue jumper or hoodie and a bag over it's shoulder and resting on it's back.
It was watching me.
Nicky stared at it and it stared back, for how long and why?
Then it off running,"HEY!", Nicky ran after it, it was strange to hear his voice fill the town and hear only his and this person's footsteps.
It was pretty fast, climbing up trees and jumping from branch to branch,"Oh come on the heck on!", Nicky tried to peak up the speed, but whoever or whatever this is; They weren't normal!
Nicky glanced up, seeing where it went-
"GAAAAHHHH!!!"
Nicky fell hard in the ditch!
He groaned, lose your attention for one second and you walk into a lamppost or in his case: A Ditch.
"Squack!"
Nicky looked up, seeing the thing looking down at him before running off,"HEY!", Nicky sighed, pulling himself up, dusting himself off and getting a sense of where he fell.
He noticed it wasn't a ditch, well it was but it was. . . Connected to a cave? Of some kind??
Nicky looked down the dark cave, he could almost see a light. . . A faint one, or had he been alone for so long he imagined the crow person, knocked himself out or finally went mad.
He took out of his phone, turned on the light and walked in while reaching into his pocket for a tazer he kept.
His grandfather insisted on it, especially after I was kidnapped, held hostage and then coming back injured.
. . .
Nicky felt like someone was around him, he couldn't see anyone but could feel something was around him.
It made him feel. . . Safe? Scared??
He wasn't sure anymore.
He followed the lit candles, confused and curious.
He could his grandmother, repeating the her famous line of him being a wandering soul or how one day he'll never come back.
Nicky tried to keep her at the back of his mind, then he came to where most of the light was.
And. . . Oh my Goodness; What the fuck did he find in this cave?
Besides the candles that were mysterious lit, but paintings of those Plague Doctors, Golden Apples, Gold Coins, many pictures of the town and people that use to live here, lights strung on the wall and in the centre of it all was a statue of the Crow that he was just chasing.
. . .
If he didn't think Raven Brooks wasn't normal before, he definitely doesn't think it was now.
