So this is gonna be a part two to my Salem theory. So if you all recall I said that I believe that Salem is a human corrupted by dust. Here's the thing I still believe that. I made this theory a few days before the chapter where Hazel infuses dust in his arms and he didn't look like Salem when he did it so many of you may say that this debunks my theory. However I think it only helps it. Here's what I mean, Hazel injected the dust in his arms and all it did was buff his arms up almost like a fast acting steroid. But here's the thing Hazel's semblance is blocking out pain so I feel like that if he didn't have that then the dust would've corrupted him like Salem. Salem's "dust crystal" is in her forehead. Think about it from an anatomy standpoint, the brain is the starting point for the nervous system. So I feel like as soon as she put the crystal in her head it spread through her nerves and because she doesn't have a pain blocking semblance it spread through her body and corrupted her. I think that that's what dust does in general if anyone was to fuse it with their body. It immediately attaches itself to their nervous system. So yeah that's what I think about Salem.
