Kermit
I sighed as I rested my head back into the airplane chair, rather tired. I feel bad about not staying longer but I think three days is about as good as it gets. I don't want to keep Alex and Ross from their work for too long, especially for a wedding. Ya know, it's kinda weird referring to being Hat Films as a 'job'. It is undoubtedly a job but it's one of the jobs that doesn't even seem like a real thing. Like, playing games all day with your friends sounds like the best thing ever.
"What are you thinking about?" Alex asked from beside me.
"Oh nothing," I shrugged. "Just how tired I am."
"Ah," he said. He took my hand in his and smiled at me. "You can sleep, you know. I'm probably gonna do the same."
"Yeah, okay," I smiled. I leaned against him and closed my eyes, waiting for sleep to overtake me.

I was awoken by someone whispering to me.
"Len? Lena, wake up."
I slowly raised my head and blinked multiple times.
"Hm? What is it?" I asked tiredly.
"Are you okay? You were mumbling a lot in your sleep," Alex asked.
"Uh, yeah. I'm fine. What did I say?"
"Dunno. It was incoherent so I was pretty worried..."
"Aw," I smiled. "Thanks for being so worried about me, bae."
"Please don't call me bae," he said sternly.
"Why not, bae?"
"It's ridiculous, that's why!"
"Aw, c'mon, bae, don't be like that," I teased.
"Please stop."
"Okay fine. How 'bout I call you 'honey bear'," I giggled.
"No. None of that," he shook his head.
"Honey BooBoo?"
"H*ll no."
"Peanut?"
"Just call me Alex, yeah?"
"Oh, come on! That's not a pet name, dude."
"That's the point."
"I refuse to only call you 'Alex' or 'dear'. Let me give you nickname! Pretty please?"
"How about... Smith? Whoa, now that's good!" Alex smiled.
"Ugh, whatever," I huffed. I glared at him in a non-intimidating way. "This isn't over, Kermit."
"Callin' me Kermit, are you?"
"Not permanently," I shrugged. "But maybe I will. You don't seem to mind it."
"I kinda do but I don't guess you're gonna give up on this matter so whatever. Sips calls me Kermit sometimes when we record so I hope you don't mind sharing the nickname," he laughed.
"Sounds like everything I've ever wanted in life," I giggled.

I walked up the steps to my apartment's front door with Lucy trailing behind me.
"Feels good to be back." I smiled, turning to Lucy.
"Isn't that what you said when we were in California?" Lucy asked.
"Was it? I don't actually remember," I chuckled. "In any case, England feels more like home than California."
Lucy fake gasped, putting her hand over her heart in shock, "Lena, how dare thee!"
"Just speaking the truth," I shrugged.
"Why so? I mean you, unlike me, had a nice job and all that crap before you moved. Now you haven't got one."
"Did you you forget that I got straight up fired, like, two weeks before I moved?" I asked. It was true. I got fired for not showing up to work the day before my mom called me to tell me she was moving.
"I actually had no idea that happened. I was kinda forbidden from talking to my family most of the time," she said sadly.
"Oh, right... Sorry," I said.
"Don't worry about the past," she dismissed. "About this job, have you been looking, like, at all?"
"I wish I could say I have but that would be lying," I sighed. "Maybe I can paint stuff on the streets for money."
"That doesn't sound like something you'd like at all," Lucy laughed.
"Yeah," I chuckled. I opened the front door and walked inside the apartment. It looks exactly how we left it and I couldn't help but smile at that fact. Not that Mom would redecorate the place while we were gone for three days.
"Mom! Dad!" I called out. No answer. This is weird. Knowing Mom, she would've ran up to Lucy and I and barraged us with millions of questions. But she didn't.
"Hello?" Lucy called. Again, there was no answer. Lucy walked into the kitchen and sighed.
"According to a note on the fridge," she began as she walked back into the living room, "Mom and Dad are at the hospital. It's a check-up for Dad."
"Oh, okay. That makes sense," I nodded. "So what are your plans for the rest of the day?"
"Well, first I'm gonna nap," she laughed as she plopped onto the couch. I smiled and sat on the other. "And then I'm going out with Ross."
"Sounds fun," I said. "Maybe I should do that too."
"No offense, Lena, but I think Ross and I would like to be alone," Lucy said.
"I didn't mean with you two," I said, rolling my eyes. "I meant Alex and I."
"Oh okay," she chuckled. She pulled the throw blanket off the back of the couch and wrapped it around herself. "I'm sleeping now. It's been real."
I flipped her off even though her back was facing me. I giggled at my own stupidness before pulling out my phone to text Alex.
Me: Kermie!!
Alex: Tis I, Kermie. What's up
Me: We should go out after I take a nap. Plz
Alex: Sure. Text me when you wake up
I agreed and put my phone on the coffee table. I snuggled into the couch and closed my eyes.

"Let's go for a walk," I smiled at Alex. He smiled back and held his hand out for me to take. We began to walk, hand in hand, in no particular direction as the sun began its descent from the sky.
"Where to?" he asked.
"Dunno," I shrugged. "You know your way around better than I do so you pick."
"There's a park nearby if you wanna sit and watch the stars or some other romantic sh*t," Alex suggested.
"Quite the romantic, you are," I chuckled. "Anyway, sounds great."
"You want me to run back and get a blanket or something?"
"Nah, nothing wrong with some grass stains on your booty," I shrugged.
"Well okay then," he laughed.
And that's how two fully grown adults, one of which was a 6'5" man, found themselves sitting on a swingset. We got that adult life swag.
"This reminds me of the day we met," Alex said suddenly.
"Yeah," I smiled. And then a thought struck me. "Hey Alex?"
"Hm?"
"I don't blame you for leaving."
"Pardon?" he questioned.
"When we met," I clarified.
"Oh right. It's-"
"I'm not done," I interrupted, laughing lightly
"Okay, continue," he chuckled.
"I never believed in love at first sight. And then I met you and suddenly, I didn't know what to think. I fell in love with you the moment our eyes met. When you said you were leaving, I felt my heart tear in two. But I understand now that you had responsibilities," I sniffled. Am I about to start to crying? I stand up from the swing and walked over to a nearby bench. I don't really want him to see me cry even though he has before. I hear him stand from the swing. He sat beside me and wrapped his arms around me.
"Don't cry, dude," he said sweetly. "I didn't want to leave, believe me. I wanted to stay, to see what would've happened but I couldn't. I had responsibilities, responsibilities that I couldn't drop for a girl I'd just met, even if it was love at first sight."
"I know you did. That's one reason that I don't blame you. I should've said this months ago, but I'm sorry," I said, wiping tears from my eyes. "I'm sorry for acting so selfish."
"I'm sorry too."
"Can we just forget about it? Forget about the whole thing?" I asked, putting my head on his shoulder.
"I think that's for the best," he agreed. He kissed the top of my head and we began doing what we came to the park for: watching the stars together.

Holy crap, I'm sooooo sorry that this took so long! It's been, what, a month since I last updated? This chapter alone took me a week to write because I'm ridiculously busy. I hardly have time for ANYTHING. I'm soooooooooooo sorry. I promise I'm going to try my absolute BEST to get chapters out. Again, I'm really sorry.
(Also, I dunno how I feel about this chapter. It's definitely a filler chapter 'cause I haven't really got any ideas for this story. Thoughts?)
(And also you should check out my collab book that's on my profile.)
