I remember the day vividly; it was the day I met Alex.

  I was walking to the shop for some groceries. I strolled into my local grocery store and headed toward the produce section. I reached for an apple and as I did, my hand met another. I jerked my hand back and looked at the other hand's owner. My green eyes gazed upon a man with gingery-brown hair, a beard, and blue eyes. I smiled shyly.

"Sorry," I apologized. The man laughed.

"Don't be sorry," he said, grabbing the apple the apple and handing it to me. "Here."

I shook my head. "No, take it. It's only an apple."

"Exactly. So take it," he argued. I grinned and took the apple from his hand.

"I'm Lena, by the way," I told him.

"Alex."

Good golly, his accent! He was English!

"What a cute accent," I mumbled.

"Huh?" Alex asked, seemingly amused. My eyes widened. Did I say that out loud?

"Nothing," I quickly dismissed. He laughed. Oh my, that laugh was amazing.

 We spent quite a while chatting. Seeing as neither of us had any groceries yet, we decided to ditch shopping and get to know each other better. We began to walk to the park.

  We spent pratically the whole day together, just talking about whatever came to mind. I told him about my sister Lucy. He told me about his job. He was a YouTuber who made videos on games with his best friends, guys named Chris and Ross. I told him how awesome that job was and how I wished I could do something like that.

  We were sat on a bench when he suddenly looked at me with a serious expression.

  " We've only known each other a few hours," Alex began. "but I know I really like you."

  My face lit up. I felt the same way.

 "But that's kind of a problem. I'm only in L.A. for a convention. I'm heading back to England soon."

  My face fell. I suddenly got very sad.

  "But...," was all I managed to get out.

  "I'm really sorry, Lena. This... isn't gonna work out," he said, standing from the bench. I stood too.

  "Bye Lena," Alex said. He gave me a quick kiss and walked away, leaving me in a daze.
