Bristol
It's been two days since I last saw Alex. I stared blankly out my bedroom window. I shouldn't be so upset. I hardly knew the guy! But still, here I am, depressed and wishing to be with him.
A sound to my left broke me from my thoughts.I sighed and grabbed my phone from my bed.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hi, honey!" My mom said.I cracked a small smile at her enthusiasm.
"Hey mom."
"So I have something super important to tell you!"
"Oh?"
"Yeah. I'm sorry I can't tell you in person but your father and I have been crazy busy with packing!"
"Hold up! Packing?!" This took me by surprise.
"Yes! Your father and I are moving to England! Bristol more specifically."
Bristol... Bristol. Bristol! Alex said he lived in Bristol!
"Really? Why the sudden change?" I asked, attempting to control my excitement.
"We felt like a change," she giggled. "We thought England would be nice."
"So.. you just choose it on a whim? Mom that's-"
"No, no. We've always said we wanted to move there, remember?" Mom interrupted. Yeah, I guess she has always said that...
"Could I... go too?" I asked. There was a brief silence which worried me. My bubbly mom hardly ever stopped talking.
"Really?"
"Yes really. It's not like I've any reason to stay," I told her. I decided not to tell her I wanted to move because there's a slight chance I'll see a stranger I fell in love with. Fell in love with? That's a bit strong... Is that really how I feel?
"HONEY!" Mom shrieked, effectively scaring me to the point I jumped. "You know we'd love to have you! Start packing, Lena. Our flight's on Friday so be ready!"
I said goodbye and immediately began to pack.

It's officially Friday, the day my family and I leave for Bristol. Well. most of my family. Lucy decided to stay in California. I'll miss her but I respect her decision.
I've already said bye to Abby and Grace, my best friends. They really didn't want me to leave, especially after I told them about Alex. I told them that they should be more supportive and eventually, they let it go. I waved goodbye to them as I made my way to the plane.

I settled down into the uncomfortable chair. It was the perfect time to think and it began to dawn on me what I'd just done. I just decided to move all the way across the world for the slight chance I'll see a man who has probably forgotten all about me! And now I'm who knows how high up and I can't turn back! Even if I could, I've already sold all my furniture. I'm an absolute idiot.
Mom started to notice my discomfort.
"Lena?" She asked, clearly worried. "You okay?"
I closed my eyes and sighed.
"Yeah... it's, um, just the altitude," I lied. "It's getting to me."
She rubbed my arm to comfort me and gave me some sort of medicine. I smiled and waited until she wasn't looking before slipping it between the seat cushions. Geez, you'd think at 24 years old I wouldn't be so childish.
My mind started to race once again. What if he remembers me? What if he thinks I'm a stalker for this? What if... he feels the same way? I'm just gonna hold on to that hope...

I looked out the window as the plane landed. Here I am. This is either going to be the best thing I've ever done or the worst. Hopefully the former.

The past two days have gone by in a blur. We've found ourselves a nice apartment. The layout is pretty normal. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs while the lounge and kitchen are downstairs.
Anyways, I haven't left the apartment. I'm trying to avoid going out because of the chance, however small, I'll see Alex. I'm not ready for that yet. And so, I've holed up in the apartment. Since I probably won't leave the apartment for a while, I promised my parents I'd unpack all the boxes in exchange for them not bugging me about not leaving. So far, I've unpacked all my parents clothes but that's it.
"Honey, your father and I are heading out. And seeing as you're taking forever to unpack, we invited some nice neighbor boys to come over and help you," my mother said as she and Dad headed toward the door.
"No, you didn't have t-" I was interrupted by the slamming of the door. Great. I'm gonna have random people going through all my stuff. I sighed and sank down into the seat of the love-seat that didn't have boxes on it.
A knock on the door made me jump slightly. I stood and walked to the door, opening it. On the other side stood three men. The one on the left had short black hair and blue-green eyes, the one on the right had brown (gorgeous, may I add) hair and brown eyes, and in the middle stood... Alex!?
My eyes widened and I backed away from the door. I could tell he recognized me by his reaction.
"Lena?" Alex asked. He held an unreadable expression. The two men beside him looked confused.
"Hi, Alex," I said awkwardly. He stood there quietly for a moment. Suddenly, he rushed forward and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back after recovering from my surprise. I can't believe it! He remembers me!
"I, uh, take it you two know each other," the black haired man said. Alex pulled away from the hug and turned to them.
"Yeah," he said. "When we were in America, I went to the shop and I met Lena there. We got to talking."
"I'm glad you remember!" I giggled. He smiled at me.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked. I scratched the back of my head. This is gonna be awkward...
"My, um, mom and dad, uh, wanted to move here and I came with them."
"Amazing," Alex mumbled.
"That's cool. I'm Ross by the way," the black haired man said. He pointed to the other man. "He's Chris."
"Believe it or not, mate, I can speak for myself," Chris said. We all laughed lightly at this. "It's nice to meet you, Lena. We're Alex's flatmates."
"And BFFs," I added. This earned me little laughs and odd looks. "Yeah, Alex told me a bit about you guys. Nice to meet you."
"I can't believe you're here!" Alex exclaimed. "I thought about you loads."
"Ohhh, someone in love?" Chris asked in a rather creepy voice.
"Shut it, Scrott," Alex said. I laughed at the name.
"Scrott?" I asked, still laughing.
"Sort of a nickname," Ross explained. I nodded.
"Well, I suggest we do what we came to do, yeah?" Alex asked. I groaned.
"That's all I've been doing for the past two days!" I said. That's kind of a lie seeing as I've only unpacked my parent's things and some furniture. They looked past me at the box filled apartment. "Let's just sit down and chat."
The 3 agreed and helped me put the boxes from the couches onto the floor. We sat down and made small talk.
I knew quite a bit about Alex, as I had met him before but I knew almost nothing about Ross and Chris. Turns out, they're both freakin' hilarious like Alex. Speaking of Alex, I found out that most people call him by his surname, Smith. Most people also call Chris by his, Trott. I suppose that's where 'Scrott' came from.
An hour passed and we still hadn't done any unpacking. Not that I'm complaining. These guys are hilarious.
"No, I'm not kidding! Someone actually smeared their own feces on the bathroom mirror in secondary school!" Ross exclaimed. We all laughed despite the fact that the story was horribly disgusting.
"In high school, the boy's bathroom was always a flippin' mess," I started. "The last of school, one of the seniors brought chocolate fudge syrup and caramel and tried to make a sundae in the toilet bowl!"
"That's disgusting!" Trott yelled. "Please tell me he didn't try to eat it."
"I don't think he did but then again, maybe he did." I joked.
"I don't really think I have any gross school bathroom stories," Alex laughed.
"That's alright, mate," Trott said. "I don't think I do either."
"I have a story of my own," I offered.
"Please tell me it doesn't have anything to do with poo smearing," Ross said sarcastically.
"Nah," I smiled. " So when I was in second grade, I was in a Christmas play. I played the lead elf."
"Ohh prestigious," Trott smiled.
"Totally," I said. "Anyways, I was so nervous about my elven debut, I peed my pants just before the curtain went up!"
The group busted out laughing.
"I took karate when I was younger. On my first day, I peed my pants during the bows," Trott said. Once again, there was a chorus of giggles.
"Once in school, I was too scared to ask to go to the toilet during an assembly," Alex said.
"Lemme guess: you peed your pants instead?" I laughed. His face went a slight shade of red and flippin' heck, it was adorable.
"Yeah..."
I laughed and looked toward Ross. He threw his hands up in mock defense.
"Don't look at me! I'm the only one who hasn't p****d himself in public," he said.
"Pfft, weaksauce," I scoffed, earning laughs. "You're not cool 'til you've soiled yourself."

It was now 3 o' clock and the guys had gotten here about an hour and a half ago. And about 5 minutes ago, we finally decided to start unpacking. It was going well and we made loads of progress (when we weren't cracking jokes). The guys were over by the stairs, unpacking what seemed to be clothes.
"Oh, that's awkward," Ross said suddenly. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"What is?" I asked.
"We seem to have found your underwear box," Trott responded. "You should really label this stuff."
My eyes widened and I charged toward them.
"Y'all step away from the box!" I screeched. I could feel my face heat up as they got up, laughing.
"Now, hush," I huffed, embarrassed. "From now on, I'll unpack clothes and y'all do the other stuff."
"Sure, sure." Ross said as they walked over to a different group of boxes.
"How long have you been in England?" Alex asked.
"Um, about 2 days. Why?" I replied.
"Well, you'd think you would've unpacked most of this by now."
"I was the only person unpacking. I wanted to keep myself busy."
"Why are all your clothes still in boxes?"
"I'm lazy, alright!" I defended. They chuckled at this.
After about an hour, we'd managed to unpack everything.
"Thanks so much, you guys," I told them. They smiled and said 'you're welcome' or whatever. "I'll see you guys later."
"Yeah, we live literally right next door," Ross said.
"Come by anytime," Trott added.
"Be careful throwing out nice gestures like that," I warned sarcastically. "Don't be surprised if you find me in your living room at 2 AM."
The chuckled and waved goodbye. I sighed and looked around at the empty boxes in the room.
"Wait!" I called out. The 3 stopped just short of the door. "Could one of you stay and help me get rid of these boxes?"
"Sure," Alex nodded. He started to walk toward me. Trott and Ross said bye and continued to leave.
Alex and I started to take apart boxes and pile them up. It didn't take too long to get them all in a nice little pile.
"Thanks," I said. Alex smiled his freakin' adorable smile at me. "I'll take care of these tomorrow. Honestly, I am too tired to do it tonight."
He nodded and started for the door. He stopped suddenly and turned to face me.
"Um, Lena?"
"Hm?"
"What's it gonna be like... for us?" He asked awkwardly.
"Pardon?" I asked, confused.
"Like, uh, being together or..."
Yeah... What about us? He did just leave me there in L.A. all alone. All alone and depressed. I don't guess he knew. I mean long distance relationships don't usually work, right? I started to get angry.
"I don't know, Alex," I said rather coldly. "Why did you leave me? Even after admitting you had feelings for me, you left. Why?"
He seemed kinda taken aback.
"I'm sorry, Lena. I just... didn't want to try a long distance relationship. They usually don't work out and I didn't want to hurt you."
I sighed. The anger faded slightly. I'm not too sure if it was because of his words or if it was because it was really gosh dang hard to stay mad at him.
"You're here now, Lena," he continued. "And I'd really like to give it a go..."
I closed my eyes to ponder this. I'm still unsure about what to do. I feel what he's saying is genuine but...
"We'll see," I said cracking a little smile. He grinned very happily and I went over and hugged him. "But as for now: see ya tomorrow, Alex."
He chuckled and walked out the door.
