Hoseok and I froze. How on earth did the Professor know?
She raised an eyebrow, waiting for us to answer and then sighed when she realised that we were both too gobsmacked to say anything.
"I know you hunt them. I've been working for Mistress Bee since I learned how to walk. My family have been her servants for generations,"
"What?!" I finally spat out, "You- Professor they're vampires!!"
"I'm well aware of that," She moved to one of the piles of books in front of an over packed book shelf and knelt down, looking through them, "I thought that maybe since you learned the truth, you would try and help our town,"
I spluttered, not quite sure how to respond. Luckily, as usual, Hoseok had my back.
"Are you talking about the Demons?" He asked, "They're real?"
"Very," She slowly pulled a book from the Jenga tower of books and laid it on her desk. It was thick and bound with red leather. It had an old, musty smell to it, so I figured it was probably ancient.
She flipped through the pages until she found what I assume she was looking for, and turned the book to face us. On the old, browned paper was a line drawing of a sort of stone doorway, with a weird inscription around the outside. The other words on the page were written in another language.
"The writing on the doorway says 'For now he sleeps, for soon he shall awaken'. This gateway is under the cemetery, but until the prophecy is started, it will stay shut,"
Hoseok and I glanced at eachother, "And what's the prophecy?"
She tapped the writing on the page with a long finger.
"For cometh the final day of the moon, where all is black, the loyal shall gather on the ground that is hallow and spill the blood of an innocent, the ground shall open for the lord and the symbols shall be erased by the guardian's red and then he shall cometh and devour the beating heart of the guardian so that he may gain power on earth to rule land, sea and sky and all the creatures,"
"That was a mouthful," I muttered, "What does it mean?"
"It's the final part of the prophecy," The Professor said, "The rest has all happened already. The stuff after this," She waved her hand a little, "Won't matter because humans will either be slaves, or dead. You'd best hope that you're one of the lucky ones who die,"
I stared at the foreign words on the page.
"Would you be able to write down the translation? I want to look into this,"
"Of course," She smiled and began scribbling words down an a piece of paper, "I have to get ready for class. I assume that you will all be skipping today?"
"Yeah," I mumbled, staring at the words.
"Good," She stood up and slapped the paper into my hand, "Come find me whenever you need help. Once you've spoken to the Mistress, we can talk more,"

"You're here," Jin greeted us as we found them at the back of the library spread out over a modern table, "How'd it go?"
"Well the Professor knows everything," I replied, dropping into a chair, "Apparently her family have been working for that Mistress for generations,"
There wasn't as much of a reaction as I thought there was going to be.
"Well, she's always been a bit odd," Namjoon said, "It's not surprising. Anyway, let me show you what I got first," He slid his notes across the table and I sighed.
"We can't read this, Joon," Hoseok laughed, "Your writing is abysmal,"
Namjoom rolled his eyes.
"We looked in the archives for a person called Bee," Yoongi said, "But she never existed. That name isn't her actual name,"
"Then Jin remembered something that vampire said, about her being buried in the dress, so we went for that angle with old newspapers,"
"And?" Hoseok leaned forward.
"We found a match," Namjoon rifled through his paper and slid an image of an old newspaper across the table.
"1882," He said, "Young bride brutally murdered on her wedding day, her fiancé missing. And the picture with the article?"
"It's her," I said, looking at the grainy sepia image, immediately recognising those eyes, "So how did she end up a vampire if she was murdered?"
"Read the article," Yoongi said sombrely, "It gets more confusing,"

AN: quick note guys, I know there's a lot of typos 😅I'm writing this on my phone in bed in the dark with my fat thumbs which is the only time I get (sort of) to myself. If you didn't know, I have a child, a toddler, a puppy and a tonne of other pets, and I work. It's tiring lol.
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
( 🤔 let me know if you wanna hear about/see my pets lol I'm always happy to talk about animals)
