Two
A red eyed man sat in the lonesome corner of a dingy bar. The lights were dark enough for patrons to catch sight of the beaming gaze.
Malakai nursed his beer slowly, a barmaid approached him.
"You need anything sugar? Anything at all?" The pouty woman batted her lashes at him.
"'M waiting for someone," he drawled out.
The human woman stared at the flawless brown skin of the man and his white hair the curled out everywhere.
"You been waitin' for a while, I'm more than happy to keep you company."
The man closed his eyes tightly, feeling that the deep red was beginning to glow even brighter. The bottle in his hand began to crack as his palms heated up.
He wanted this woman away from him. Now.
His eyes snapped open when he caught the scent he was looking for. He shoved his way up, a smirk drew to his plump lips.
His target caught sight of his large figure and Malakai could smell his blood pumping.
The Hound was ready for the chase as his prize swiftly exited the bar.
Malakai snarled as he bolted after the elven man. Of course, he got stuck chasing one of the fastest species.
The elf, Gabriel- his files had said, was linked to being Victors confidant. He was almost certain to have Victors new location.
Gabriel made a sharp turn down the cities alleyway. Malakai had cornered him in a bar as the sun had set.
Kai braced his body as he slammed into the wall, quickly using it as leverage to push off of.
"C'mere bastard!" Malakai faced his palms out behind him bursting flames from them. He propelled himself forward sporadically.
Gabriel burst through the nearest door, both men ran into a garage it seemed. Cars were on lifts above them.
Malakai gripped a wrench as he passed a table, he grunted before chucking it.
A sharp cry sounded, before Malakai lurched towards his target.
The elf spun as he fell, he slashed a dagger towards the Hound.
Malakai hissed, the blade slicing across his abdomen. He bashed the elf over the head with a pipe.
Another stab sunk into his shoulder, Malakai had no visible reaction but loosened his hold at the pain.
Gabriel slipped away and bolted up a staircase.
"You can run but I'll fucking catch you Gabriel!" Malakai growled lowly. He held his wound before sprinting up the steps as well.
The adrenaline rushing through him had dulled his senses, he didn't pick up on the alluring scent lingering in the air.
A feminine scream rang through the air and it pushed Malakai to run faster.
Gun shots rang out and Malakai found himself approaching what seemed to be an apartment above the garage.
He burst the door open, dropping to the ground as shots fired towards him.
"Fuck! Shit! Holy crap!" A woman cried out in obvious distress. The gun clicked, signaling she was out of ammo, he glanced up to see the female gripping a bat without hesitating.
"God damnit!" he yelled and dodged the attacks. He saw no sight of Gabriel but a broken window.
"Where'd that man go?!" he barked and held out a hand. He caught the weapon mid swing and narrowed his eyes when he felt barbed wire plunge into his hand.
His red eyes met dark brown ones. Suddenly his world shifted just a bit.
It was as if her scent hit him full force. Pure pleasure bottomed out to his stomach, his chocolate skin tingled being three feet away from her.
The woman was beautiful, her skin was a light beige. He wanted to count every beauty mark and freckle scattered on her face. Her eyes were hooded, her lips were plump and red.
His demon thrashed in his mind, urging him to look over her body. She was an average height, not too tall not too short. He still towered over her without her being overly petite.
She was lean bodied, he mentally groaned her breasts were oh so tempting. They had to be about a B cup, he licked his lips at the thought of his hands gripping them. He could cover them completely with his own palms.
She had perfect curves, her body fit and in good shape. Her legs ran for miles.
Valencia stared back at this mountain of a man.
His hair was white, pure white, and it looked natural. The kinky hair was slightly grown out but not to the point where it looked unkept. It highlighted his chiseled features. She almost jumped at the intensity of his red eyes.
He was a Hell Hound. She paled a little, she was completely entranced by a man that could kill her in second.
To say he was built, was an understatement. The man reached 6'3 and his muscles looked big enough to dwarf her.
She bit her lip as his dark brown skin enticed her in the low light of her home. Everything about this man was perfect.
Suddenly her dark eyes zeroed in on his wounds. She'd been so busy admiring his beauty she'd completely ignored the blood dripping on her floor.
Valencia reached for the Hound.
Said beast stumbled back, dodging her touch.
She recoiled quickly.
"Where's the man, nymph?" The Hound asked. She furrowed her brow as he knew her species.
"I... the man that bust in I shot his side. And his leg, definitely nicked the femoral artery, he bolted out the window. There's a balcony right outside, I think he scaled it."
Her precision with her fire arm momentarily went unnoticed by him.
Valencia's voice was light and airy. She was never a loud speaker.
Malakai tossed his head back at the sound of her voice. He screwed his eyes shut.
He focused on her words and let anger consume him.
"You let him get away?!"
Valencia flinched and put some distance between the two.
"I can help with your wounds-"
"Don't touch me, mate."
Valencia froze at the term he used.
"W-We're soulmates?" The nymph gawked.
"You couldn't smell it?" Malakai spat.
Valencia looked around incredulously. "Nymphs are basically humans that live really long with an affinity for potion making and freaking plants. How the hell was I supposed to know?"
"Well then get me a healing potion, that bastard had something on his dagger."
"I'm no good with potions, besides I have no herbs."
Malakai deadpanned. He looked around the room that was decorated with plants everywhere.
"What kind of nymph doesn't know potions?"
"The kind raised by humans," she spat back at him.
She began to approach him. She did not look like she was going to be stopping.
Malakai bared his teeth in pain and annoyance as he tried to maneuver away from the girl.
He only played into her hand when she could shove him onto her couch.
He fell back with a low, pleasurable growl. They both felt the skin to skin contact send shivers in waves through them.
Malakai watched the dark haired woman zip around the living room only to begin kneeling with a medical kit before him.
"My names Valencia," she said softly.
He kept his face neutral as he looked down at her. He wasn't going to let the mate bond affect his mission and mind set.
Valencia slowly reached for his shirt. His breath hitched before she began cutting his top away.
"Malakai," he grunted out as she gasped at his wounds. She couldn't admire his ripped chest and abdomen as it'd been sliced up.
Okay she admired a little, before getting to work.
The gash on his lower stomach went from hip to hip, it was a thin slice.
She looked up to see his red eyes watching her carefully. She reached for his pants and pulled them down just a little.
Kai pressed his head tightly against the cushion he'd sunk into.
"You're playing with fire, kitten. Watch yourself."
She breathed a little heavier at his lustful voice, her cunt tingled simply at the sound of him.
She began cleaning his slowly healing wound. Val checked his bullet wound to make sure it went through and through.
Their faces were closer than they'd ever been and Valencia was steadily turning red.
Soon enough he was wrapped up, but he was forced to continue sitting.
"The hell did you learn to patch someone up? And shoot while we're at it."
Valencia looked around unamused, glancing out at the rowdy city. "You seen where I live? This is common knowledge. You learn or you get targeted."
Malakai's usual scowl deepened. Valencia continued after taking a deep breath,
"Are you going to ignore the fact that we're made for one another?"
