3rd Person, 5 days later

Tokyo was disorganized, panic has ensues about the Aberration outbreak in Shibuya City. The military was deployed and has set a perimeter that blocks off any access to the Infested city of Shibuya. The Government agrees to have the Military to have full control on the situation and take every action necessary to re-take Shibuya City

At the streets at Tokyo, many Military Personnel were riding trucks to their destinations to be stationed along with heavy armored vehicles such as Tanks and Humvees. The military looks serious at containing and / or exterminating the Aberration threat that terrorize Japan for a while

There were barricades and iron fences erected and placed to block off any tresspassers or Aberrations that could get past the defenses. Everyone was on edge, the casualties are still high and continues to grow, as Aberrations in small numbers have a skirmish with the JSDF

Y/N Pov

I open my eyes to see that i was floating in the abyss. I didnt have a sense of direction or dont know how time passes by but it feels like i was floating for some time but as i continue to observe my surroundings, i saw my squadmates and they're in the state of how they died

They're state is horrifying, they were either had their insides exposed or their skin was burnt 

The voice of my squadmates echoes through my ears, calling out and reaching to me. I felt terrified on what was happening, their voice was distorted while calling me, soon. Each and one of them begin to curse at me and kept saying things that will ring in my head for some time

"You left us to die"
"You're a monster like the Aberration"
"Hope you die by the hands of an Aberration"

Soon, the voices and figures dissapeared and what appeared in front of me is a figure of something...it looks human but at the same time...it doesnt feel like its human. The figure was taking its step towards me in the abyss with no sense of gravity

???: Hmm, servant Y/N. I hope you find your potential, let the flames of Inferno flow through you, let my creatures guide. Serve me, the Archdevil and i shall help you in your quest

Soon, a magic circle was summoned below my feet and at the border of the magic circle shots out a wall of flame. Soon, the wall begins to get closer and later on i was swallowed by the fire of Inferno

Nightmare ends

I wake up from the weird dream i was having, and apparently, i seem to have forgotten what was it about immidiatley. I slowly sit up from the bed and soon, realization hits me, i look around me and saw i was in a hospital filled with doctors and nurses...

The room was full and the doctors were very busy with the patients...it looks like they're overwhelmed with the situation. I felt horrified upon noticing the situations of the patients. The patients were had severe injuries, wherever i look, all i see is suffering. One of the nurses had noticed me and went towards me

Nurse: Sir! A patient badly needs that bed. We already checked your conditions many times and saw you dont have any injuries in your body. Please get off

Y/N: Umm, sure but how long was i unconscious

Nurse: 5 days due to extreme fatigue. You were transported by helicopter by people. They said you suddenly passed out during evacuation. Now please, get off

Y/N: O-Okay...

I hop off the bed and the nurse rushes out the room. I look around me and saw patients were in pain...i left the room, terrified. As soon as i exit the room, i saw more patients in pain across the room...no...this whole ward has patients suffering from severe to critical conditions...a sudden shock of realization hit me and i rush towards the window

The first thing i saw was in the distance, Shibuya city was in flames. A pillar of smoke that continues to rise from the city was visible from here...

Military helicopters flew over the hospital and heading towards the city. My eyes were widened and my jaw drops from horror...soon, it all came back to me. A flash of memory of the events on the SAT's failed operation of evacuating and handling the Aberrations with result of the loss of my team and possibly more of the SAT and Police and...civilian's casualty was higher

Y/N: I-Its happening again....

The horrors of 2020 begins to resurface as the October Aberration Invasion of Japan begins to cross my mind again. I felt horrified of just watching the scenes unfold

Scene change

As soon as i exit the hospital, it was just as brutal from the inside. The hospital is understaffed and suffering attrition. The number of patients were just too much, patients were being treated even on the parking lot and entrance

People suffering injuries from the Aberrations made my stomach turn and i felt puking where i stand but i held it in. I fled from the place and find someplace else, anywhere to be exact to get away from this horror

Scene change

Y/N: What the hell happened this past 5 days

I look at the giant screen that shows the news and saw that some military outpost nearby were fighting the advancing Aberrations but the situation was under control. Tanks, Helicopters and Magicians seems to be able to control the Aberration horde but who knows how long will they hold the line

News Reporter: All access to Shibuya city is now inaccessible and the Prime Minister will let the JSDF handle the Aberration threat. A full scale evacuation of Tokyo is plausible if the Aberration ever gets through. As of now the military has not yet come up with a plan to retake Shibuya, only skirmishes of Aberration and the Military

Man 1: Man, the Aberration problem is getting out of hand

Man 2: Its gonna be like 2020 again

Timeskip

It evening in Tokyo and i successfully managed to sneak past the outpost. The outpost is still nearby and i have to be careful and not be seen by any patrols. I walk down near the tree line where i can see Shibuya city

After walking for a couple of minutes, i was now entering the city, fortunately enough, there werent any Aberrations wandering around this part of the city. Rubble and destruction were common place and the smell of death was in the air

I continue to walk down in the middle of the road, depressed, lost the will to live and with intentions of dying. I failed to protect the ones i care about and the most painful of all is that i lost everyone, my parents, my childhood friend and my squad and here i am...still alive and carrying all the weight of the dead on my shoulders

I heard an Aberration's footstep and it was coming towards me. Its fleshy skin thumps the ground, making its weird sound with its footstep

I look infront of me and saw the Aberration and its monstrous face, i close my eyes and accepted death. I accept what was coming and what will happen after. The 10ft tall Aberration picks me up with his enormous hand

Soon, my memories flashed before my eye and after a split second, i remembered something. The dream that i had back in the hospital, as well as what happened before i passed out. Soon, a demonic voice shrills inside my mind

Demon Voice: Kill it!

And out of fear, my whole body began to produce steam and my body temperature begins to heat up but i didnt feel a thing. The Aberration drops me back to ground and i look at myself, confused on what was happening. As i stood confused, i notice the Aberration held its hand in pain from the heat

I hesitate but i raise my hand against the Aberration, but my expectations were not met with just a simple extension of an arm. Was i missing something, perhaps a voice command or something and i decided to see for my self

Y/N: Fire!

Nothing

Y/N: Blaze!

Nothing

Y/N: Inferno!

Suddenly, a fireball the size of a big meotiorite crashes down and instantly kills the Aberration. The explosion flew me backwards. I look at the destruction that just unfolds and saw fire...the whole bloc was on fire

Terrified by my own doing, i fled from the scene as fast as my feet can run. My sense of reasoning suddenly vanished i ran aimlessly in Aberration infested Shibuya. I didnt care where i was going, i just ran away, scared from what i had done, scared on what i had become and what sort of power surging through my veins

I stop dead in my tracks as i encounter a pack of Aberration, they were eating a feast of corpse. One of the Aberration from the pack turned around and it was chewing someone with a bullet proof vest and a dogtag

Y/N: S-Stay away from me!

The Aberration stood up and its interest is now on me, it comes toward me with a aura of Gluttony. I use my arms to protect myself but a sudden activation of magic was felt. I peer through between my arms and saw a fireball was hovering on my palm. With panic, i flick my wrist in accident and that caused the fireball to shoot out of my palm and directly hits the Aberration

My mouth was wide open from shock, the Aberration was in fire and was flailing around in a desperate attempt to put out the fire. Seconds later, it dropped dead with its heavy body dropping in the asphalt road, the rest of the pack heard the thud of the Aberration's body

Y/N: No...Get back. Im warning you!

I reluctantly extend my hand and i felt another surge of power and then, a circle in my both of my palms appeared and all it needs now is a voice of activation

Y/N: Let the fire flow!

A stroke of flowing fire forming a extending and bending line with a wide blast of 15 feet erupted from the magic circle. The line shot forward at first but it suddenly turned to the direction of another Aberration, the procedure repeats until i've hit the last Aberration

The line of fire pierced through their chest and burning them up both in their skin / slimy body and they were unable to move, all they could do was stand and suffer the extreme heat of the fire

After a couple of more seconds, i was exhausted, i put down my arm and as soon i did that action, the line of fire dissapeared the Aberration immidiatley dropped down dead. I was panting from exhaustion, using magic really takes a toll on one's body

???: Hey, you!

I turn around quickly with my arms prepared for a fight. As soon as i turn around, i saw a girl looking at me, she has a Assault Rifle with her but she didnt wore any military clothing nor any identification that she was in the military

???: So you're the guy that the boss wanted to keep an eye on

I look at her hand and saw a detonator. This woman could be a danger and she could have planted some explosives somewhere around the place

Y/N: Who are you?

???: We dont have time for a introduction. If i were you, i'd get away from this place. The JSDF is gonna search around the area soon after finding some strange activities in the area you created

Y/N: Umm, okay

Timeskip

I was inside a armored SUV, an unknown guy was driving the SUV with the girl beside her. sat behind them while they silently pay attention to the road. Soon, the vehicle was now driving in a dirt trail

I was sort of afraid on where they were taking me but seeing my capabilities, i can get away if these people are hostile

Girl: Welcome to Rhine Defense and Logistic International kid. A Private Military Company

I see a Forward Operation Base in the distance with a small runway and hangars that looks like it houses aircraft. There were also some fires but it was on the ground, not on buildings

After a couple of minutes, we arrived at our destination and we see a few soldiers...no... Mercenaries burning some bodies of their comrade, possibly to avoid an outbreak of a disease

I was greeted by a man standing at 6 feet tall with a well built body...

Wait no...that face, i knew that person before from the academy, he was my class's instructor

Y/N: Captain Kuniyoshi!

Captain Ichijou Kuniyoshi. H-He's a part of this PMC...?!

Ichijou: Cadet...no, Private L/N. Its been a while

Y/N: Yes sir, it has indeed
