Eighteen

Wedding Bash and Crash

Harry sat in the porch chair impersonating a fish out of water. He was broken out of his stupor when Sirius pulled the Boy-Who-Lived out of his chair into a bear hug, "Prongslet!" An equally stunned James shook his head and joined the hug. None of them would admit they were openly sobbing.

When James and Sirius were approached by Death and were told they're to see Harry again, they thought Harry had died. Both James and Sirius became saddened by the fact, not realizing Death was bringing them back to the land of the living. Now, standing huddled together in a hug, the three men could not hold back their tears. The sound of crying had reached Remus' and Dean's ears and drew them out of bed and out to the back porch.

Dean was surprised that he was able to hear something so far away as if it was right next to him. He followed Remus outside to investigate the sound. Remus stopped in his tracks after he opened the back door, not wanting to believe what he was seeing until Sirius noticed him, "Moony!" Then it was Remus' turn to join the hug. Dean just stood on the inside of the door watching the group reunite.

Soon, Arthur had made his way down to the kitchen to see what had tripped the wards. He had felt the shift in the wards, but it wasn't threatening so he did not move too quickly. It was then he realized what Death meant and smiled before going back to bed. He laid back down next to his wife and whispered, "No need to worry, Molly-Wobbles." She had become alert when Arthur left the bed but was relieved when he returned a short while later.

The group split apart after a few more minutes wiping away any evidence, or trying to, of their tears. Ever the responsible one, Remus ushered everyone inside, "Come on, now. It's late. Why don't we settle down for the night, we'll have plenty of time to talk in the morning." James patted Remus on the back, "Always the mother hen." Remus just shook his head, "Well, someone had to keep you two in line." Sirius sputtered, "Pft. Keep us in line? You're the brains behind most of our shenanigans." "Yes, but it was you two that executed them and would get caught," Remus smirked.

Dean's laughter at the group caught their attention. "Evening, Dean," Remus says as he comes inside and closes the door. Dean cleared his throat, "I heard something and followed you down. Now that I see there's nothing to worry about, I'm going back to bed." Remus looked at Dean, tilted his head in confusion wondering why Dean seemed different and wondered if he noticed it too. Dean had already moved to head upstairs though, so the subject will be brought up after some much needed rest.

In the morning the Burrow was bustling with activity. Most noticeably were the new arrivals. Everyone was overjoyed that Harry had his father and his godfather back. Especially Molly. She had been thinking about approaching Harry about his relationship with her daughter, but now that James is alive, she will speak with him. James smiled at Molly when she broached the subject of Harry's betroval to Ginny. He shook his head, "My dear Molly, let them progress naturally. There is no need to rush. I mean, look at them."

Molly faced Harry and Ginny, seeing them sitting so close together at the table eating breakfast. She listened to James, "They are well on their way of being inseparable. It will happen. Maybe not right now but soon." Molly sighed, "You're right James. It's good to have you back." She patted his shoulder before returning to the kitchen to start cleaning.

Later in the day, Sam, Dean, and Charlie were sitting in the living room thinking about what has happened over the last few days. Bill was coming downstairs to go into the kitchen and stopped as he was passing through the living room. He couldn't help but notice Dean felt different, "Dean? How are you feeling?" Dean looked up at Bill confused, "Fine. Why?" Bill came closer, "It's just...You seem different. Since you came back from rescuing Remus."

Dean stood up so he was eye-to-eye with Bill, "Different how?" Bill shook his head, "I'm not sure. I'd like to run some diagnostic spells. Maybe something from that place is lingering?" Sam stood up as he was now concerned, "Are you sure that's necessary?" "It wouldn't hurt. And it would be best if it's something we should know about," Bill pulled his wand from his holster. Dean was silent as he thought about it; he could have sworn he heard a deeper, more animalistic version of his voice in his head since rescuing Remus. So, he agreed to let Bill run his diagnostics.

A stumped Bill called Remus into the living room, "I need to run a diagnostic on you." Sirius stood next to his long-time friend, "What? Why?" Dean was unsure how to feel so he was going to wait until Bill was finished. "Please. I need to check something. That place did something to Dean and I need to see if you were affected by it," Bill explained. Remus took a seat in one of the armchairs across from Dean as Bill ran his diagnostic spells.

Once finished, Bill compared the results and was shocked at what he saw. He informed the two men, "It seems that Remus passed his Lycanthropy onto Dean." Remus became pale and nauseous thinking he has condemned his new friend to a life as a werewolf. He was on the verge of a panic attack when Bill's voice penetrated the fog in Remus' mind. "However, not fully. It appears the both of you are only slightly infected with Lycanthropy." Sam asked, "Which means what?"

Bill handed the parchment with the results to Sam, "They're more like me." Dean read the results with Sam as they sat next to each other. Dean seemed to understand what that meant, "So, Lycan traits without becoming furry on the full moon." Bill nodded, "Essentially, yes. Sharpened senses, even more protective of those you care about, crave red meat during the days surrounding the full moon, and heightened emotions." "He's still Dean, just more," Sam tried to lighten the atmosphere.

Sirius caught on, "You hear that Moony? No more turning, no more pain, just you." Once Remus understood what was said, he didn't stop the tears that were building, "I'm free." James and Tonks had come into the room towards the end of Bill explaining what happened and were overjoyed. Tonks had tackled Remus and curled up in his lap. James and Sirius were holding onto each other and jumping around the room like excited children. Dean just sat lost in thought, he didn't really feel any different. The new voice was heard inside his mind, "Is that such a bad thing?" Dean couldn't help but think, "No, it's not."

Five Months Later

It took a few months for the dust to settle from the second Wizarding War. The newly elected Minister of Magic had worked with those he trusted to clear out those who were corrupted and establish new laws and abolish the old. The wizarding population was not happy but learned the changes were for the best. Otherwise, the wizarding world would be doomed to repeat history.

The fifth month after the war ended was when Harry proposed to Ginny. The proposal was a small affair held at a high-classed muggle restaurant in Paris. Family and friends showed up after Ginny said yes so, they didn't feel too crowded. James, Sirius, and Molly had organized a celebratory dessert party inside the private suite Sirius had rented for the couple. All the Weasleys, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Teddy, Hermione, Draco, Narcissa, and the Minister attended to celebrate Harry and Ginny's engagement. Narcissa kept hinting at Draco to ask Hermione, but he did not want to disrupt the new couple's night, "Soon, mother."

Another three months have passed. It was another Sunday dinner with the Weasley family. Death has attended almost every Sunday. He would show up, eat, and leave. No small talk, just enjoying the home cooked food and pleasant atmosphere with a loving family, no need to disrupt it with questions that will go unanswered. Molly stopped feeling nervous and anxious after the third Sunday. The Weasley family would set a plate and keep his seat reserved whether Death showed up or not.

These three months have been spent planning Harry and Ginny's wedding. James and Sirius wanted it to be a grand affair, one that will be talked about for centuries, but Harry wanted it to be small and private. So, they compromised. The wedding and reception will be held at Potter Manor under the Weasley marquee. Of course, Sirius sneakily replaced the worn-down marquee with a brand new, bigger one. Arthur just shook his head and accepted it since the Weasleys will be taking the new marquee home for future events.

The week of the wedding Dean, Sam, Charlie, and Castiel arrived at the Burrow. The Winchester brothers have kept in close contact with everyone from the wizarding world. Dean had settled with his new nature, and abilities quite nicely. He found his new abilities gave him an edge in hunting the supernatural. Dean, Sam, and Cas had been keeping an eye out for Lucifer. The fallen angel was still roaming free and causing minor problems. Cas and Crowley had figured out that Lucifer was quite weak and losing his grip on the mortal plain. Which made Lucifer desperate and dangerous, so they all were waiting for dear ole Lucy to strike.

The second night everyone was together a prank war had begun between the Marauders and the Winchesters. Sirius' pride was bruised when Dean drank him under the table. Sirius vowed to get him back by charming Dean's hair to change color. Dean woke up the next morning with pink hair. After the Marauders had stopped laughing Remus had canceled the charm. Dean wasn't angry, no, he was going to get even. Sam laughed and shook his head at his older brother but made no move to stop him, instead he joined Dean. However, there was one unspoken rule...Nobody gets hurt.

The Winchesters were quite creative with their pranks. Since the brothers didn't have magic, they went with the classics. James had sat down in an armchair in the library at Potter Manor only to feel and hear a loud fart-like sound. The sound was so loud, others in the room next door heard it and started laughing. Dean and Sam were smug until James jinxed their shoelaces together and the brothers tripped. Sam duct taped an air horn to the wall behind a door so that when it was opened the doorknob would blow the air horn startling any who opened it. Sirius was the unlucky one to get blasted by the loud horn.

This war went back and forth until Molly put her foot down, waggling her wooden spoon at the grown adult men. But Dean was determined to prank Remus one final time. He had gotten an aluminum pie pan, filled with whipped cream, and a lighter. The Marauders, Harry, Weasley twins, Bill, and Charlie W were sitting at the dining table talking about preparations that would begin in the morning when Dean came into the room.

Dean came to stand next to Remus with the whipped cream pie behind his back. He took out the lighter and flicked the flame onto the table making like he was lighting an imaginary firework. Dean imitated the whistle of a bottle rocket. As his whistle neared its crescendo, Dean quickly tossed the pie into Remus' face, smothering it in whipped cream. The room was silent for a moment before Sirius and James burst out laughing, soon everyone followed. Sam walked past Remus, "Imaginary firework...Classic."

Two days later was Harry and Ginny's big day. The marquee was set up, the house elves were finishing up the decorations and flower arrangements per Narcissa and Molly's orders. The women were helping Ginny get ready, and the men were keeping Harry from being too nervous. The bride and groom had not seen each other since the night before, and they were nervous but excited.

The ceremony was simple but beautiful. Harry and Ginny had written their own vows and there was not a dry eye in the entire place. Everyone thought Molly would be the loudest when it came to shedding tears, but it was actually James and Sirius. Remus had to silence the two from their dramatic blubbering. Harry just laughed and recited his vows, Ginny followed soon after.

Once the rings were exchanged and the ceremony was closed out, the atmosphere shifted. Everyone felt it. Someone was crashing the wedding. The Winchesters and Cas were on high alert. Cas could sense who it was, "Lucifer." Dean heard and was pissed, "You gotta be kidding me!" Cas shook his head, "It seems he's finally going to strike." Cas disappeared only to return with Rowena and Crowley.

Lucifer was determined to have his vessel. The meat suit he had been wearing was losing strength and deteriorating. He looked and felt horrible, "Hello, Sam." Lucifer stood in front of the Winchesters. If Lucy would have looked around, he would've seen that he is surrounded. Several witches and wizards had their wands drawn and aimed at Lucifer, Cas had an archangel blade, Crowley had Cas' angel blade, Rowena had a coven of witches feeding her more power, and the Winchesters had their own weapons. Lucy was not going to win.

Ginny was pissed, "You! You ruined my wedding!" She launched the first spell, her favorite spell...The Bat Bogey Hex. It didn't hurt Lucifer, just pissed him off. While he was batting away the snot-bats, Rowena readied the spell to send him to his cage. She motioned for the witches and wizards closest to Lucifer to restrain him. Harry, Ron, Ginny, Molly, Sirius, and Bill sent strong Incarcerous conjurations. Instead of conjuring ropes, several chains sprouted for their wands with the amount of magic put into the spell.

Lucifer was bound and shackled to the ground with Bat Bogies still flowing out of his nose. Nobody canceled the hex, it would stop...eventually. Rowena had started the containment spell to send the fallen angel back into his newly reinforced cage. It seems the fight was over before Lucifer gained any traction. Luckily, nobody was hurt. That wasn't Lucy's plan anyways, he just wanted Sam's body so he could stay out of his cage. Lucy was having too much fun amongst the humans for it to end. Oh well.

The reception went on into the early morning. Several guests slept where they passed out after having too many drinks courtesy of an open bar provided by the father of the groom. Harry and Ginny had left for their honeymoon in Bora Bora the next day. They were going to be there for two weeks then take an additional two weeks to travel home. While they were gone, James and Sirius renovated and warded Godric's Hollow. James thought Harry would be uncomfortable living in the home where his life was turned upside down, but Harry reassured his father otherwise. The home was the perfect size for the newly-weds. They were in no rush to have children since Ginny was to leave for training with Holyhead Harpies.

Hermione broke the news to everyone a few months later. Draco had proposed and Narcissa couldn't have been happier. They were to be married a year later in one of the biggest weddings of the millennium. They welcomed a son ten months later.

Ron and Lavender had snuck off and eloped. They had found out Lavender was pregnant with twins a week before and didn't want to wait. Molly blew a gasket when she found out. Arthur had to sit her down and calm her, "Molly-Wobbles, I know it's not ideal, but you should be proud. Our son is grown, and he is going to have children of his own. He and Lavender love each other and did the right thing." Molly was crying, "We should have been there." Arthur sighed, "I know. I know. Why don't we gather everyone and have a reception here at the Burrow?" Molly calmed down and agreed to throw the reception for her youngest son.

The Winchesters had returned to the Bunker after Ron and Lavender's reception only to find Cas had adopted two dogs and a litter of kittens. Sam and Dean had a good laugh seeing the angel with kittens in his trench coat pockets. Sam patted Dean on the back and left to unpack his bags and do laundry. Dean sat down and watched Cas play with the kittens with a smile on his face while the two dogs curled themselves under Dean's chair. All Dean could think was, "I'm glad Sam found that book."

The lives of those in the wizarding world and the Winchesters went on. There were a few bumps along the way, but they were dealt with together. Sam and Dean retired from hunting after Sam met someone and married. Charlie B moved into the Bunker and took up Bobby's position of liaison for hunters. Crowley and Rowena co-ruled Hell, occasionally pestering the Winchesters out of boredom.

Lucifer never escaped his cage, not with Fluffy guarding it. The Cerberus was gifted to Crowley by Hagrid for this purpose. After a few millennia, Fluffy and Lucifer would spend their days playing fetch with unruly souls that wandered into Lucifer's domain in Hell. Who would have thought?

Life was good. Not necessarily quiet or peaceful, but good. All due to one old man leaving a tattered book and an unactivated portkey with a pair of unsuspecting brothers whose lives revolved around "Saving People, Hunting Things...The Family Business."
