Chapter 7
*Ryley's POV*
I get to the park and sit on a bench, waiting for Jackie. I don't know why she wanted to talk to me so bad. Someone sits next to me and I turn towards them.
"You must be Ryley. Pleasure to me you." She sticks out her hand and I hesitantly take it.
"Yes I'm Ryley. So what did you want to talk to me about?" I ask curiously.
"Okay I want you to listen to me. No interruptions, please." I nod, urging her to go on.
"Okay so first I want to say I know you and your family are Hell Hunters." She must have seen the look of horror on my face but she decides not to say anything. "Me and my family are Hell Bents. Werewolves to be exact." I grab for my knife but she grabs my hand. "Stop please." She begs me.
"You have 5 minutes wolf." I snarl.
"My mom was killed a few years ago by a rogue Hell Hunter. It was one of the Tall family. My father and brother, Jace, think all Hell Hunters are horrible like that. But I know that they try and rid the world of evil. We try do that too, and I tried to talk to my brother, but he wouldn't listen. My brother is trying to get close to Lacey so we can take you guys out. I don't want that, I like Lacey. I just want your help to convince our families to put aside our differences and work together. If not I'll make my family move far away from here and you'll never be bothered by us again."
She finishes and I put my knife away. I look into her eyes and see sincerity and a spark of hope. "Okay Jackie. I believe you. What do we do now?" She breaks into a smile and hugs me. I tense up and she seems to have noticed because she let's go.
"Sorry, just happy." I laugh slightly and her smile widens. "I made you laugh. This is so cool. Okay I have a question. What are you in your family? I know about your parents and Lacey, but not you."
"Weapons specialist. I only go after you wolves, with my trusty Sterling silver dagger. Now I have a question. Who's the pack leader of this territory?"
She sighs. "My dad. He's always working so I never get to see him. Jace sees him all the time though, at like meetings, since he's older. But only by a minute." She huffs.
"I think we are going to get along great." I smile at her. "So how are we going to convince our families to unite?"
"The only thing I can think of is to unite Jace and Lacey. But how would we do that?"
"The only thing strong enough to bond two totally different people is love. But they could never love each other. It's against Hell Bent and Hell Hunter laws."
You could practically see the light bulb above her head. "But what if they can? Before Jace knew about Lacey he already liked her. He wouldn't stop talking about her her first day at lunch. She wasn't there because she stayed in to talk to a teacher, and we never told her. If we could get them to spend more time together, maybe they'll fall in love and we could help them show everyone that it's not that bad to like a Hell Bent or Hell Hunter."
I stare at her with wide eyes. "That might work. Oh my gosh you're an absolute genius. Lacey wrote about Jace in her diary, she went on and on about how cute and funny he was. But then she said that she had to take him out, even though she didn't really want to. It has to work Jackie." I grin at her and she laughs.
"Awesome, let's do this." We stand up and I'm about to leave but Jackie stops me. "And call me Jack."
"Okay Jack, call me Ry." We smile at each other and part ways.
