~Sunday evening, part 3~

As we pull up to the large pack house I start to feel the nerves bubbling up again. I feel a jab in my side and look over at Ryley.

"You'll be fine. Everyone already likes you from going to school with you, they won't mind that you're a Hunter." I smile at her and we all step out of the car.

As we walk in people from school greet me with surprise, since I don't smell like a wolf. I say hello to everyone and we all just talk, mainly complimenting each other on outfits. After an hour of mingling, I finally hear someone speaking from the front of the room. I look up and find Alpha Eric at a microphone.

"Good evening everyone. Tonight is a very special night, tonight I step down as current Alpha and welcome in the new age. My son, Jace Fairway, your new Alpha. I would also like to welcome your new Luna, Lacey Bentley." As I hear our names, cheers go through the room. I walk up to Eric, and as I arrive I see finally see Jace. He's standing there, slack jawed, staring at me. Eric shots him a look and he comes out of his trace.

"Jace Fairway, do you promise to protect your pack and to be the leader we need, for as long as you are our alpha?" Eric asks Jace.

"I promise to protect and lead my pack as their alpha." Jace replied. Eric then turns to me.

"Lacey Bentley, do you promise to protect and lead your future pack, for as long as you are our Luna?" I look quickly at my family and see them nod slightly. I look at Jace and Eric and see the pride in their eyes.

I turn to look at the crowd. "I promise to protect and lead my new pack as their Luna." Cheers erupt from around the room.

"I present to you, the new Alpha and Luna of the Moon Shadow Pack. Jace, would you like to say anything." He nods and steps up to the microphone.

"As you all can tell, Lacey is not a werewolf. She and her family are Hunters." Shouts go throughout the room, but Jace and Eric quickly silence them.

"Her and all other Hunters have done us no harm. They don't hurt innocent wolfs, they get rid of the ones causing problems. Lacey's mother killed another Hunter when they learned that she had killed my wife, an innocent. They are one of us." Eric tells them.

"First thing tomorrow, we are going to the council to talk about laws between all species. Once everything is taken care of, hunters, vampires and all other species will be invited to a barbecue, here. There will be no complaints. Am I understood?" Jace says, in what I can only assume is his Alpha voice. I hear murmurs of 'yes alpha' sweep across the room. Jace nods and we both step down. Most people stay away from me, but some are good sports about it and talk to me and my family.

When I go to talk to Ryley I notice she's no longer there. I excuse myself and start searching for her. I eventually find her and some other kids talking outside.

"Hey kiddo, I see you've already made some friends." I say as walk up to them.

"Hello Luna." The few kids say while Ryley just utters a 'sup'.

"You don't have to call me Luna, Lacey is perfectly fine." I tell them. "So who are your friends?" I ask Ryley.

"Carl, Simon, Violet, Kit, and Ivan. Ivan is the one I punched that one time."

"That was when I knew we were going to be the best of friends. Your sisters pretty tough for a 12 year old."

"Well she has been trained to fight you guys her whole life." I joke. "All of you are cool with us being Hunters?"

"Of course, you're just like us. Living, breathing creatures. You deserve the same chance to live that we do." The girl named Kit answers.

"Well I like you guys, I'll make sure Ryley doesn't hurt you too bad. Just don't step out of line." They all laugh and nod, saying goodbye as I leave.

I see Jace as I walk to get some food. "Hey there, just met some of Ryley's new friends. I really like that Kit girl."

"I'm glad you're having fun. And Kit is actually the beta's youngest daughter. We have a pool going on about who her mates going to be. The majority think it's going to be Carl, but a few think it's going to be the new kid that came in a few weeks ago."

"New kid? I'd love to meet him sometime. And put me in the pool for Carl." He smiles and kisses my cheek. I smile back and walk up to his room, suddenly feeling tired.
