"Hey we're home from patrolling!" I yell into the house.

"Hi. Who is this honey?" My mom asks my dad as she comes out of the den.

"How about you go take a nap in Lacey's room, first door on the left. Honey I think we all need to have a talk."

"You have a sister you never told me about? What else are you hiding from me?" My mom asks my dad with crossed arms.

"Nothing I promise. I didn't want to risk anything by telling about what happened to her. It could risk my family and our family." He pleads with her.

"Dad, what if I send her to Jace's pack. She'll be safe there and we can make peace with them, no more fighting."

"Are you crazy? What happens when we kill them? They are Hell Bents, they will destroy this place if we don't destroy them first." My dad says.

"Listen Ryley and I have been talking and we think we could have the best of both worlds. We get the Society together and we talk to them about this. We can change how Bents and Hunters view each other. Tell me you don't think this is something worth fighting for." I tell them.

"Honey she's right. We could finally change things for all the species." My mom says, trying to convince him.

"I do think it's worth trying but it's very risky. Do you really think we should do this?"

"We have to make this work. I have to tell you guys something and I hope you don't go ballistic." I tell them carefully.

"You remember Jace?" They both nod. "I'm kind of his mate and I told him I'd give us a try."
