Lacey's POV

How am I Jace's mate? How does that even work? If Hunters and Bents are supposed to hate each other, how are we mates? The moon goddess is up to something.

I follow after Jack and wait around the corner. I can hear them talking, obviously about me.

"I found my mate and it's someone I shouldn't even be friends with, let alone have as a mate. And worse she's going to reject me. I'll die in a few months." He's gonna die?

"That won't happen Jj. You'll be fine. And this will be good for everyone, we won't have to fight with the Hunters. She won't reject you." Jack says with confidence.

"Pinky promise?" He asks. Very cutely, might I add.

Jack chuckles and locks pinkies with Jace. "I promise." They smile at each other and walk to where I'm hiding. When they come around the corner they stop moving.

"Jace, can I talk to you for a minute?" He looks at me then at Jack. She nods her head and he follows after me.
