Jace's POV

I walk into school on Tuesday looking for the girls when I smell that amazing smell again. The smell is much stronger than last time and I walk towards it. I find all the girls at Lacey's locker. A low growl rises from my throat and I feel my wolf take over.

Jace's wolf's POV (let's call him Ray)

I run over to them and pin Lacey against the locker. I kiss her roughly and pull away a few seconds later.

"Mine." I growl. I feel Jace trying to take control so I let him have it.

Jace's POV (again)

I take control again and see the girls stare at me, moths agape. I look down and notice Lacey pinned between the lockers and my body. I quickly take a step back and throw a questioning look at Jack.

"Dude. I think you just found your mate." Cam says still stunned.

"No. No no no. I can't be your mate! This has to be some mistake. Maybe your mates smell rubbed off on me. Yeah that's it. I am not your mate." Lacey says freaking out.

My heart breaks a little. She doesn't want to be my mate. Of course my mate had to be the one person who shouldn't be my mate.

"I have to go. I'll see you guys at lunch." I walk away and go into a different hallway. I hear footsteps behind me and instantly know it's Jack.

"What's wrong Jj?" Jack asks.

"I found my mate and it's someone I shouldn't even be friends with, let alone have as a mate. And worse she's going to reject me. I'll die in a few months."

"That won't happen Jj. You'll be fine. And this will be good for everyone, we won't have to fight with the Hunters. She won't reject you." She says.

"Pinky promise?" I ask like a child. I stick out my pinkie.

She chuckles and locks her pinky with mine. "I promise." I smile and hug her then we walk off to class.
