Chapter 22:
Stella groaned as she held her head.
Her body ached all over but her skull hurt the most.
Bruises and bandages covered her from head to toe as she sat in a large bed in Red Fountain's infirmary.
The blond fairy glanced at the mirror once.
Thank goodness nothing had tainted her face.
"Princess?" There were two knocks on the doorframe.
Stella whirled around to stare at the brown haired, good looking man at the door, "Brandon!!"
Brandon smiled at her before striding in to let her throw her arms over around his neck.
Placing a small kiss on her cheek, he smoothed her pretty, blond hair, "Are you okay, Stella?"
"Oh you know me, Brandiepoo!" Stella said, tossing her hair back, "I get through the toughest things looking unscratched when I'm the one who gets hurt the most!"
Brandon laughed at his girlfriend's cute pout before beginning to stroke her hair, "Oh, I know."
Flora bit her lip, unsure of whether or not to enter.
Stella and Brandon were having some sort of couple related conversation, but being the only ones who hadn't gotten injured, Flora and Helia had been asked by the Head Master to do a couple of jobs.
Helia was sent to clear the ground of the beasts that were left.
Darcy had left, leaving a badly injured Stormy behind, and all the monsters had exitted the school with her.
Only those creatures that could not move were left spread across the grounds.
Flora had been asked, by the Head Master, to bind and contain the unconscious Stormy.
The nature fairy had also performed a small healing spell to make sure her friends would not have trouble breathing till professional help arrived.
Now, the Head Master had sent Flora to call the students for a short meeting.
A sort of gathering to understand what exactly had taken place in the central tower.
Flora straightened in her soft pink skirt and black tank top.
She knocked.
Brandon and Stella broke away from each other, Stella looking annoyed till she saw her shy friend.
"Oh, Flora!"
Flora only smiled, "Head Master Saladin would like to see us."
Helia snapped an arrow in two.
Useless.
He'd been useless too many times in this battle.
A troll had left a blood dripping gash in his arm while he'd just stood there, disoriented and uninterested, in the middle of the battle field.
Another arrow split in two as he twirled the pieces in his hand before dropping them to the ground.
After Darcy had left, Helia had led Flora upstairs just as the Head Master and a few others had arrived.
The place had been a mess with three dead trolls, the damaged bodies of specialists and fairies and an unconscious one of a witch.
Only one man had risen to his feet, blood dripping down his angry face.
"Riven," Helia didn't look over at his friend, "Kindly stop."
Riven stopped destroying the piece of leather, he'd been tearing to bits, to glare at the Prince.
"I'll do whatever I want."
Helia suppressed a sigh as he rested his head against the tree behind him.
He still hadn't received treatment for his wounds but neither had Riven.
They'd sprung into action even after their grievous injuries.
No use lying down when you could walk.
Riven had carried an unconscious Musa all the way to the infirmary not trusting the inexperienced brats with the kid from theFairy School.
Helia let his thoughts wander over to Flora and a small smile crossed his face.
It had been the best decision of his life to move quickly back to the dark room and pull her to him.
A few moments late and Darcy would have mutilated his bride-to-be.
His gut twisted when he thought of the trusting smile he returned in return.
Something had been different this time around.
She'd looked almost distracted, like his presence had disturbed her consciousness.
The third arrow broke in two when Nathan showed up.
"Hey!" The kid bent over, panting hard, "Ma- Head Mas- wants you... Meeting..."
Riven got up first, "Got it. Get lost."
The kid blinked before nodding slowly and walking away.
Helia rose as well.
He let his shoulders droop slightly, something a prince found difficult to do unconsciously.
Riven gave him a look before walking on in front of the prince of Magnolia.
Helia followed, keeping his head bowed.
A meeting.
He'd have to tell the Head Master only a few things while the girls stayed.
Touching a hand to the small object in his pocket, Helia wondered if his mission was over.
