Chapter 49
Moving into her new dorm room was relatively easy, especially since all of her possessions had already been delivered. After she painted and changed into some loungewear, she headed down to the common room with the rest of the girls.
"Hiya boys!" Mina called out as they walked up to guys gathered in the common area, "All done with your rooms?"
"Yup, we're just unwinding now." Kaminari answered.
"Well, the girls and I have been talking and..." Mina started.
"We have a great idea!" Hagakure continued.
"Let's go around and see who has the coolest room!" Mina finished.
Emiri looked at the boys and saw M*neta, Tokoyami, and Midoriya pale at the suggestion. Both Midoriya and Tokoyami looked as if the thought of anyone going into their rooms was the last thing they wanted, and M*neta just looked... like M*neta.
"You know what, that actually sounds like fun!" Kirishima said. "Let's do it!"
"Yes! This way we'll be able to learn a little bit more about each other!" Iida exclaimed, swiping his hand through the air.
Mina bounced a bit with a wide grin on her face. "Then let's start on the second floor, which means the first room we're looking at is... Midoriya's!"
Looking over at the boy, he seemed to pale just a little bit more.
Everyone started walking to Midoriya's room, though before anyone could open the door, the freckled boy was in front of it, a look of horror on his face. "No, wait, you can't go in there! Please it's not fit for-" he was cut off as Mina nudged him aside and opened the door, revealing the room Midoriya was trying to block.
"That's... a lot of All Might." Emiri said as she looked around at all the All Might posters and merch. It looked like all he had done was bring some books from home and fill the rest of the empty space with All Might merchandise.
"It's All Might everywhere!" Uraraka exclaimed. "You're such a fanboy!"
"Well, I admire him... this is embarrassing." Midoriya said as he leaned against his desk, his face beat red.
"Does this mean, they're judging our rooms, too?" Kaminari asked.
"Probably, could end up a good time." Sero said.
Eventually Midoriya managed to get them all out of his room and they moved onto Tokoyami's, where the bird-headed student was leaning against the door with a uncaring expression.
"No way." He said.
Mina and Hagakure walked forwards and after a minute or two they managed to push him over and get into his room.
"So dark and scary!" The two girls said as they walked in.
"You fiends."
It looks like an edgy kid was allowed to go ham at Hot Topic Emiri thought as she stepped into the room. The curtains had been closed to prevent the light from outside to come into the room, meaning the only light was coming from the purple lanterns hanging from the ceiling. From what she could see in the dim light it looked like everything else in the room was black, and she was pretty sure there was a sword leaning against the wall.
"Oh, man, I had a keychain like this when I was in middle school!" Kirishima exclaimed, holding up a silver cross keychain.
"So this is how boys like to decorate." Mina said.
"I think this is just Tokoyami." Emiri said.
"Please leave." Tokoyami said.
The next room was Aoyama's, which was blinding compared to Tokoyami's room. It was like someone walked in with a ten gallon box of glitter and just spread it everywhere. There were mirrors placed everywhere as well and for some reason he had a suit of armor at the back of his wall.
"Aren't you dazzled?"
"Shiny..." the class said at the same time.
"Non, non, it's not shiny it's..." He struck a pose, "Mag," struck another pose, "Ni," struck another one, "fique."
After regaining her sight, Emiri saw that her classmates had started to head out and were walking to the next room.
"Let's see. The last person on this floor is..." Uraraka started as she turned around to see M*neta peeking out of his dorm room, some kind of aura leaking out.
"Hey, come on in, girls." He said. "I've got so much to show you."
All the girls paused before walking away.
"So, the third floor?" Uraraka said.
On the second floor, they started with Ojiro's room, which was pretty plain.
"Ohh.. it's so bare in here!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"Did you move anything in at all?" Hagakure asked.
"Please tell me you just haven't unpacked yet." Mina said.
"It's kinda cute." Emiri said.
"Um, if we're done here, then let's go." Ojiro said.
With that they all moved onto the next room, Iida's, his room was what she had expected. Books lined the wall next to his bed, and on the other side of his room there were shelves lined with multiple pairs of glasses.
"Woah! It looks like a library in here!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"That's the class rep for you!"
"You'll find nothing odd in here."
Just saying that makes me think you're hiding something, Iida. Emiri thought. She walked over to the shelves, where Uraraka had picked up a pair of glasses.
"You have so many glasses." She sputtered.
"Of course I do! I expect them all to be destroyed during training!"
"You know the support course can just repair them, right? You don't have to have this many spares." Emiri said.
"I like to be prepared!" Iida exclaimed, chopping his hand through the air. "Now, let's move on!"
The class moved onto the next room, Kaminari's.
It wasn't terrible, but everything absolutely clashed with each other. He had purple tiger print curtains and a brown and yellow bedsheet. Emiri couldn't find the words to describe it.
"This looks like the store in the mall that I'd avoid." Jiro stated.
"What? It's perfect!" Kaminari said.
Everyone quickly moved onto the next room, which was Koda's. His room had a soft and simple feel to it, and it looked like he had brought his pet rabbit, which won over most of the girl's hearts, including Emiri's. The rabbit was really cute, and really soft.
"Hey, no fair, we don't get pets." Kaminari said. "You're trying to buy the judges love!"
After lookin around the class started stepped back out into the hallway.
"Man, this sucks. I feel so judged right now." Kaminari said.
"Hey, what a coincidence. I don't feel great at all." Ojiro agreed.
"Same here." Tokoyami said.
"That's because the boys are the only ones who are getting picked on." A new voice said and Emiri looked to see a certain grape creep walking up to them. "They said it was a contest to see who had the coolest dorm room. Well what about them?! We have to see the girl's rooms to tell which one's best! Their interior designs should be held to the same standard to ours. Maybe even higher show us those dorms!"
Emiri glanced at her classmates then back to M*neta. "Well, yeah, were were planning on it. We just happened to get to most of the boys first since there were no girls on the first floor." She smiled and clapped her hands together. "Though, let's talk about the guidelines for the competition."
"Right!" Mina exclaimed. "So, then, what are the rules? Are we figuring out who has the best taste in the class, or just the overall coolest?"
"Let's go with a mix! Who has the coolest and the best taste!" Kaminari said.
"Perfect! Now, lets finish with the boys rooms then we'll move onto the girls!" Mina exclaimed.
With that they headed up to the fourth floor, where Kirishima, Bakugo, and Shoji's rooms were. Though apparently Bakugo had thought the competition was lame and ended up going to his room to sleep, so instead they started with Kirishima's room.
"It's manly." Emiri said as she looked around.
The next room was Shoji's and in Emiri's honest opinion, it was pretty bland. He didn't even keep the bed frame. The only things in the room were a desk and a pile of blankets.
After Shoji's room, they headed up to the fifth floor, where Sero and Todoroki were. Sero's room was first. His room seemed the most put together out of all the boys. Everything matched and it looked good together. If it were up to Emiri she'd choose this room to win.
Todoroki's room was more of a shock, it seemed that in the short time they were given he had completely refurbished the entire room into a classic Japanese style, the room didn't even look remotely like the dorm room he had started with.
"Well, that's it for the boys." Mina said as they walked out of Todoroki's room. "Now's our turn ladies."
"Aw, man, that's so many rooms." Jiro said as they all headed to the elevator and to the second floor, "Shouldn't we turn in?"
"Come on Jiro! Live a little!" Mina exclaimed. "You're not just saying that because your room's next, are you?"
Jiro's cheeks flushed slightly, "It's... kind of embarrassing." She muttered as she opened the door, revealing a music themed room. Instruments lines the wall and she had a chalk board against the wall beside her bed. The room gave off punk rock vibes.
"Can you play all these?" Uraraka asked as she looked at the instruments.
"Yeah. At least a little."
"That's really cool!" Emiri said, "I've always wanted to play a guitar but my parents insisted on piano..."
"Your room is girlier than this." Kaminari said from beside Aoyama.
"That's because I have style, mon ami." Aoyama said.
At those comments, they both received an earphone jack to their ears and they were rushed out of the room and onto the next one.
"Well, guess mine is next." Emiri said, "It's not at interesting as some of the other ones though." She opened the door and the class went in.
"Those fairy lights are so cute!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"Aw, look at this cute little kitty!" Mina said, hopping over to where a cat pillow was laying on a shelf.
"No way, are these all of your analysis notebooks?" Midoriya asked. "There are so many."
"Well, I take notes on both heroes and villains so I guess it takes up a lot of space." Emiri said.
Like she had said before, her room was normal. She had painted the walls blue and she had brought a pale pink rug from her own room. She had also brought in two bookshelves to hold her things and put up a shelf above her bed for extra storage. Her parents had insisted on buying her a Tv so that was mounted on the wall on the opposite side of her bed, just above a dresser she had brought from home. In the middle of the room she had a coffee table with a floor chair, since she knew she wanted another place to sit aside from her desk and bed.
"Hey, Koyama, is this a picture of your family?" Jiro asked, pointing at a picture frame on a shelf.
"Oh, yeah. It is. We took it when I was a kid. I believe I was eleven there." She walked over and stood next to Tsuyu, looking at the picture. In it, Emiri was sitting in a wheelchair with a blanket draped over her frail figure. Her older brother was behind her with his hands on the handles and wearing a U.A uniform and her parents were on both sides of her, kneeling down. "Everything was so much simpler back then."
Jiro looked at her, seeing the smaller girl looking at the picture with a slight smile on her face.
"Alright, next is me!" Hagakure exclaimed.
And just like that the class moved on, looking at the rest of the rooms in the dorms.
Hagakure's room was very pink and girly, fitting her personality perfectly. A certain grape boy went straight towards the dresser— only to be wrapped up in tape by Sero as the class continued looking at the rooms.
Mina's room was very girly-punk, having a mix of pinks and black all over the room. And no matter where Emiri looked she saw something fluffy or fuzzy.
Next was Uraraka's. Her rooms as pretty simple, a simple coffee table in the middle of the room, a TV and a wire table against the wall and a plate of snacks on the coffee table.
They were going to do Tsuyu's room next, but she hadn't joined everyone for the room competition and had gone to bed early, resulting in the class skipping over her and heading onto the next room, Yaoyorozu's.
"The thing is... I... maybe miscalculated a few things." Momo said before she opened the door to her room, and when she opened the door the class saw why. Her bed practically filled up the entire room, leaving only a sliver of space between her bed and the dressers against her wall for her to walk. Emiri kind of hung outside of the room, not liking the cramped feeling of her room.
"Well, that does it for the rooms!" Mina exclaimed, "Let's get downstairs and figure out who won!"
"Yeah!" The class cheered, and they all made their way to the common area, where they placed their votes on slivers of paper and placed them in a box.
"Alrighty, has everyone got their votes in?" Mina asked, when everyone nodded she continued, going around and collecting everyone's lots, "Remember, you can't pick yourself, guys!" Once everyone had their papers in, Mina and Yaoyorozu counted them up.
"An now, without further ado, here are the results of the first Best Room competition. Minus Bakugo and Tsu. Drumroll, please!" Mina tapped her fingers against the table, Hagakure joining in. "With a total of six votes, the overwhelming winner of this totally awesome contest is... Sero Hanata!"
Emiri looked over at Sero, who looked shocked to hear that he won. "What? Me?"
"I guess his room did look pretty manly." Kirishima said.
"It was really well put together too." Jiro agreed.
"It's only fair. But I'm totally winning the next competition!" Kaminari exclaimed.
Slowly the class started to separate, going into small groups to chat with each other, after a few minutes, Uraraka asked for Momo, Kirishima, Todoroki, Midoriya, and Iida to come outside with her, leaving the rest of the class to talk inside.
"Hey I think I'm going to head to bed. It's getting pretty late." Emiri said, "So if you'll excuse me."
"Of course! It is getting pretty late." Mina said. "Sleep well!"
Emiri bowed her head and turned around, heading up to her room and closing her door behind her. After hearing the click of her door locking, she walked over to her desk and placed her earbuds in, opening her laptop and turning it on. After clicking an icon that looked to be an Art application, a black screen appeared, a familiar box holding the words 'Voice Only'.
"I'm here to report, Master."

This chapter was mostly filler, but I mean, I love the room episode and I had fun designing Emiri's room so yeet!
Since I'm not confident in how I describe things I drew out her room (Using the basic room base I found online bc I wanted to be accurate.) So, here's her room!
The little cat plush is a reference/ based off of my old Warrior Cat persona lol
Also! Some fanart!
This was made by @Foxgirl18 ! I posed this on my other stories but I had to share it here as well! I absolutely adore this picture and I love the way you drew my characters! Emiri in this looks amazing and I love that you drew her using her quirk!! This piece overall is absolutely amazing!!!
