Chapter 27
It wasn't long at all until Emiri was back at U.A, sitting in her classroom and listening as her classmate talked about their internships. On the other side of the classroom, Sero and Kaminari were laughing at Bakugo, who's hair didn't have it's usual spike— until Bakugo literally blew up— and it went back to normal.
"Awesome! You got to face actual villains? I'm super jealous!" Mina said, leaning slightly on Jiro's desk.
"Well I didn't fight. All I did was help people evacuate and provide support."
"But it still sounds like so much fun!"
"I spent basically training and cleaning up the shipment deck. Though there was one day where we caught a bunch of drug smugglers." Tsuyu said.
That's cool. Emiri thought.
"What about you, Koyama?" Tsuyu asked, looking over at Emiri.
"O-oh, me?" Emiri asked, taken aback at the three looking at her.
"Oh yeah! Who'd you intern under? I don't think you ever told us!" Mina exclaimed.
"I interned with E-Edgeshot." The three girls paused at what she said, their eyes widening.
"No way. Edgeshot? As in the number five ranked hero?" Jiro asked.
Emiri nodded. "It wasn't that interesting. He mostly helped with getting me to improve my speed an reflexes. Though a group of villains did attack the agency on my second day."
"Man, you and Tsu got to do really cool stuff!" Mina exclaimed, "I'm super jealous!" She turned around and looked towards Uraraka, "What about you? What did you do?"
"I'd say that it was very enlightening." Uraraka responded, some sort of dark aura surrounding her and she punched the air a few times.
"I think she found her fighting spirit." Tsuyu said.
"Yeah, that battle hero must of been something else." Jiro agreed.
"After one week she's like a totally different person." Kaminari said.
"Different? Don't be fooled, Kaminari." M*neta said, a look of terror crossing his face. "All women are demons at heart. They just hide their true personalities behind pretty faces."
"What the heck did Mt. Lady do you you?" Kaminari asked. "That can't be true. I mean, look at Koyama! She's as pure as pure as they come." Kaminari said, motioning towards the white haired girl. "Anyways, everyone at my internship loved me. It was actually kind of great. Now if you want to talk about the ones who really changed, it was those three."
"Oh yeah, the Hero Killer!" Sero exclaimed.
"Glad you guys made it back alive." Kirishima said.
"I worried about you too." Momo said.
Emiri puffed up her cheeks, "I warned you, Iida! But you didn't listen! You're lucky you guys were saved by some pros!"
"Well! That's what you'd expect from the number two hero!" Mina exclaimed.
Todoroki looked down at his desk, "Yeah, that's right. He saved us."
Looking at the expression on Midoriya and Iida's face— also knowing Midoriya— Emiri had sneaking suspicion that that wasn't actually what had happened. Though it wasn't her place to point it out.
"Did you guys hear the news about the hero killer?" Ojiro asked. "Everyone's been saying he was somehow connected to the League of Villains. Can you imagine how frightening it would be if that creep had been there when they attacked the USJ?"
Him? Connected with the Leage? No way. He'd totally refuse. Emiri thought.
"He's scary, yeah. But did you see him in that weird video. It's all over the internet." Kaminari said.
Emiri knew of the videos Kaminari was talking about— it was about Stains life and how he turned to villainy. Apparently he wanted to be a hero at first, though he was disappointed in the views of the heroes taught by the educational system and ended up dropping out. She had seen the video circulating the internet and she had to admit Stain did have some valid points that she agreed with.
"I didn't even know there was a video of him."
"Yeah! Stain's a pretty evil villain, but like, super tenacious. He's almost kind of cool. Don't you guys think?"
"Kaminari!" Midoriya exclaimed.
The blond teen realized what he was saying and covered his mouth, "Oh! Sorry dude."
"No, it's okay. You're fine. It is true that he's quite a tenacious villain. I understand why people might think he was cool. But instead of helping the world, his beliefs led to cold-blooded murder. No matter his motives, killing can not be condoned. To keep anyone else suffering like me... well..."
Oh no, here it comes.
Iida lifted his hand and sliced it through the air, "I promise I will strive to be the perfect hero! It's time for class to begin! Everyone please take your seats!"
"He's back." Tokoyami said.
"This is your fault for talking about that weird stuff." Jiro said, glaring at Kaminari.
"Sorry. I should really keep my mouth shut."
Emiri just giggled and walked back to her seat, sitting down and waiting for class to start.

Most of the day went by as usual, classes started up like normal and lessons continued from where everything had left off. After lunch, though, was the class almost everyone was excited for.
Like usual, everyone headed to the changing rooms and started to change into their costumes. Emiri was slipping on one of the stockings when she heard someone let out a gasp.
"Koyama! You changed your costume!" Uraraka exclaimed.
Emiri tilted her head in slight confusion before she processed what the brunette had said. "Oh, right, you guys haven't s-seen it yet! My old costume didn't really suit me for what I wanted to do, so I decided to see if i could change it. Turns out all I had to do was go to Mr. Power Loader and ask."
Uraraka grinned, "It looks amazing! It really suits you!"
"T-Thanks!"
With that, the two of them joined in on the chatter going on within the changing room, and once everyone was done changing they headed out to meet everyone else at the training field, All Might standing proudly as he waited for them.
"Hope you're ready to return to your lessons!" He exclaimed once everyone had gathered. "Today it's hero basic training! Feels like I haven't seen you in a while, welcome back! Now then, listen carefully for what's in store. We're going to be conducting a little race! Take everything you've learned from your internships and apply it to your training."
"If it's rescue training, shouldn't we be at the USJ instead?" Iida asked from beside Emiri.
"That facility specializes in disasters. As I said earlier, this is a race. So, prepare! You're about to step into field Gamma! Inside is an area filled with factories and is an intricate labyrinth. You'll be competing in groups of five, each person starts at a separate location in hero city. I'll send a distress signal and you will do what you must to rescue me! Whoever finds me first wins! But try to keep the property damage to a bare minimum, please." His pointed finger slowly moved to point towards a certain explosive blond.
"Why're you looking at me?" Bakugo asked.
"Now, let's separate everyone into groups!" All Might said.
It wasn't long before everyone was separated into groups. Emiri was placed in group 3, with Todoroki, Shoji, Kaminari, and Toru.
***
Everyone other than the people in group one were led to a platform where there was a large screen for observation. Emiri sat on the ground with Tsuyu, Momo, and Uraraka. Around her, people were betting on who was going to win.
"Iida hasn't completely recovered yet, right?" Kaminari asked. "He should sit this out."
"Yeah, and everyone in this group has really good mobility." Kirishima said.
Momo sighed, "I'd say Midoriya's at a heavy disadvantage against those four."
"That's what I think, moving around quickly isn't really one of his strong suites, that's for sure." Jiro said.
"And whenever he uses his powers, he always gets badly injured. What do you think, Koyama. You're good at analyzing."
Emiri took a second to think, looking up at the screen. "I would guess either Iida or Sero. Mina's starting point is on the ground, so she'll have to climb up in order to get to All Might. Ojiro might have a chance by moving from pipe to pipe using his tail, but since it's a labyrinth he'll have to find his way through. Like Yaomomo said Midoriya can't really use his quirk without hurting himself and his mobility isn't that good. Iida, if he has enough balance, can use his quirk to propel him on the pipes, and Sero can use his quirk to fling himself over the course to see where to go— kinda like Spider-Man, so I believe that Sero actually has the best bet in winning this."
"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." Mina said. "You barely talk and then you're able to spout out something like that!"
"Ah, well, I like analyzing." Emiri said, placing a hand on the pack of her neck.
"Begin!" All Might shouted, and Emiri turned her attention towards the screen, watching as everyone started moving.
"Look at him go! Koyama was spot on with her guess!" Kirishima exclaimed.
Though, there was a sudden flash of green and Emiri's eyes widened. "M... Midoriya?" She asked. A green light was hopping around him as he jumped around, passing by Sero with ease.
He improved that much within the past week? Emiri thought, he must of interned with one hell of hero. Though Emiri noticed that it wasn't just that, his movements and the way he was propelling himself through the air... they were extremely similar to those of another student in her class.
Bakugo was staring up at the screen, a look of pure anger and disbelief on his face.
The training exercise ended quickly— Midoriya ended up misstepping on a pipe and slipping, allowing Sero to pass by him and win the race. The students in group two got up and started to move towards the field. It was Momo, Tsuyu, Kirishima, Bakugo, and Aoyama.
"What do you think about this match, eh Koyama?" Kaminari asked.
"Oh, Bakugo for sure, Tsuyu as a close second."
Just as she predicted, Bakugo had used his quirk to fly above the course, and managed to get to All Might first. Tsuyu jumped from pipe to pipe and got the platform a minute or two after Bakugo. Next was Momo— who had luckily been on a place higher than the platform so she created a hand glider for herself and glided down to the platform. Third place was Kirishima, who used his hardened hands and balance to climb up buildings and make his way through the course. Last place was Aoyama, who had used his laser to jump from building top to building top— stopping a few seconds due to the pain in his stomach.
"You were right, Koyama! You're really good at this!" Kaminari exclaimed. Emiri just let out a small giggle and adjusted her visor.
"Good job team 2! Alright team 3, you're up!" All Might called.
Emiri stood up and walked with her team towards the spots All Might lead them to. Emiri got on her spot and took a deep breath, getting ready for the race.
