"Raza. Have you seen a woman in love?" She asked after a brief silence. Manal lowered her cup, eyeing him. Taken aback by the question, he thought for a moment.

"How would you know? Not even a woman's shadow has touched you." She raised her eyebrow. Raza shifted, adjusting the frame of his glasses.

Manal blinked, not moving her gaze from him, - "They are the biggest losers. World's dumbest creatures. They are a--" She licked her lips, - "a joke." 

........

"You are a coward, like your pathetic mother. I hope you hang yourself like she did." She shouted.

Zayan stilled. He turned and rushed to her in a flash. Everyone gasped as he gripped her throat tight. Manal looked back with fiery eyes. Undeterred, she kept the eye-contact.

His nostrils flared, and his green eyes were bloodshot now.

"How dare you?" He gritted his teeth.

"How dare you—" Manal retorted breathlessly. He choked her harder.

He kissed the crook of her neck, gripping her arms tightly. Manal fisted her saree. Raza's lips set ablaze on her skin.

He brought his lips to her ears and whispered in a deep husky voice, - "Manal."

Her eyes sprung open, and she jumped from his hold.

"What happened, Boss? Did I do something wrong?"

Manal's chest felt heavy, and her arousal was replaced with fear. She looked wide-eyed at him.

Raza shook his head, - "I am sorry, Boss; this was my first time—"

What was that? Manal washed her face with cool water, and huffing, she looked at her reflection. That voice rang in her ears.

"This yellow one for friendship." He forwarded her, she took it, brushing her fingers with his.

"And this, red, for our love."

Manal blushed, accepting the roses. Zayan tugged her hair behind her ear and cupped her face. He gently touched their foreheads together. Manal closed her moist eyes, a smile on her lips.

"I love you, Zayan." She breathed.
