Chapter 14 "War"

Leo Junior's pov

"You know you can't avoid our parents for long," Aviana utters as I wait outside for Rios to come meet me. After what happened the other day there's no way I want to be anywhere near my parents. I have no clue how I'll be able to look them in the eyes after all I know.

"Watch me," I grumble.

"What's so bad that has you treating them like enemies? We're Castillos and we stick together no matter what," Aviana sternly responds as she crosses her arms across her chest.

I roll my eyes at her comment as it reminds me about our father. It amazes me how much my sister is his replica. I remain silent not wanting to say anything I'll regret later. Just because the image of my parents is now ruined doesn't mean it should be as well for my sister. If my parents ever decide to tell her then that'll be on them, but not on me.

"It was that bitch wasn't it?," Aviana bluntly grumbles.

"Who? Amoret? No," I respond.

"Since she's came there's been trouble. If I have to execute anyone just know I will," she warns with the same look my father throws when things need to be taken care of. When I say she's his replica I mean it.

"You ain't doing none of that calm your ass down," I mutter.

"Aviana your mother is asking for you," Rios utters as he makes his way towards us. Aviana nods as she runs back into the house.

"We got to keep a close eye on that one. She's sounding a lot like my father each day," I say. Rios lets out a light chuckle before steering the subject.

"Before we start I just want to say that eventually you need to be a man and face your father," Rios pointedly says.

"I'm more of a man already compared to him," I grumble rolling my eyes as soon I think about what that term man really means in this lifestyle.

"Look I'm no one to tell you what to do nor how to think. However, I will say our background isn't hugs and kisses that you kids nowadays grow up with. Give an ear before judging," Rios calmly says. I stay silent only nodding at his words. However, at this moment I'm not here for that, so I'll give time to that later.

"Amoret turned," I murmur steering the subject. Rios's green eyes widen not expecting such news this quick.

"What she say?"

Flashback starts now

I stand frozen as she mentions that she's ready to talk. All I can think is that this is way too easy. How does a complete stranger that was born into and raised by the mafia as I was just want to suddenly spill the beans about the plans of her Russian family. Everything about this is too suspicious and not mafia like. However, I play along interested about what she has to say.

Amoret is seated on my bed looking pale as she silently battles with herself. I can see she is debating whether to tell me or not or simply on how to tell me. She takes in a deep breathe before saying, "the reason for a sudden alliance between your father and mine is because the loss of arms connect. You see your father is notorious for his arms dealing. With the bad blood history between the Romanovs and Castillos it was clear that your father wouldn't blink an eye, so that's why our arranged marriage came into play. An alliance that brings two mafias together."

"It doesn't make sense your great grandfather stole the Chinese connect from my great grandfather. What do you mean there's loss of arms connect?," I question confusedly.

"We're at war with them as we speak," she murmurs. My eyes widen not expecting this to be the reason.

"At war?," I crease my brows.

"A shipment was suppose to be sent by the Chinese. However, it never arrived to Russia. No one knows till this day what happened to that shipment or if it was ever sent in the first place. Loss of arms and money is the cause of the war. So like I mentioned earlier it's a loss of arms, which is why the sudden alliance came into play," Amoret explains.

"Your fucking father did not mention any of that to my father. He spoke about the Chinese, Russians, and us joining alliances. We were sold a bunch of shit," I grumble clenching my fists.

"And you believe if he would of said the truth that your father wouldn't kill him right there?," Amoret responds her eyes connecting with mine for a moment, "my father needed an alliance and that is exactly what he got as a result to his play," she adds.

"What is your guy's plan? And don't you dare lie to me Amoret. I will find out whether you're lying or saying the truth," I warn.

"First of all this isn't an us plan. It's Romanov's plan. His plan is to sign into the arms business with your father that's all," she says.

Taking a moment of silence I have no clue whether to believe all that Amoret has just said or not. I ain't going to lie some of it makes sense. However, the part of Romanov wanting to simply be signed with my father for arms is too simple. For a bloodline that has been greedy and betrayed before this is not in their nature. Once my father becomes aware of the truth behind the alliance and finding out Romanov lied about his part of the offer is a bunch of bull. He isn't going to take it well. If anything another war is in the arisen.

Which to my luck this arranged marriage would be cancelled earlier than I thought. In matter of fact I hope Amoret isn't lying, so that this whole deal can be wrapped up and thrown into the trash.

"I will have to confirm with my sources about that war you speak of. If it comes out to be true than we'll go from there," I say wanting to get into my car and speed my way to my father to inform him about what was just revealed today. Amoret nods in agreement as she stands up from sitting on my bed.

"What's in it for you though? Why expose your father to me? Why so freely expose everything?," I ask curious about her intentions. Like I said this is too easy for this lifestyle.

Amoret stays silent her eyes disconnecting with mine as she looks down at the carpet. She starts unbuttoning her clothes, which catches me by surprise. I try to stop her from striping in front of me, but she ignores me putting her hand up to stop me from saying anything. I watch as she takes off her blouse and pants and what I see next has me completely stunned.

Her body is covered in bruises.

"Who the fuck did this to you?," I scold.

"Who do you think?," Amoret sighs.

"I don't understand these bruises weren't there that one time."

"Because makeup covers what one wants to hide," she responds.

I take steps forward almost as if I want to examine the bruises on her delicate body. These bruises are deep how can any man harm a woman? Such cowards if you ask me. I touch the bruise on her stomach careful to not put too much pressure. It's dark and big. Amoret must of spent quite some time covering all of this just to hide her abuse and then it clicks.

"You're his puppet aren't you?," I say.

Amoret nods her brimming eyes becoming a watery mess. It's as if she's been holding such a secret for who knows how long. Now that she is able to just let it out she does without a second thought. Her sobs start becoming louder and louder as I naturally embrace her into my arms wanting to comfort her. Her arms embrace me as if her life depended on it.

"I've never been anything to him. I'm just a piece of meat he threw to you guys. My duty is to serve you and satisfy you as a women should," Amoret says between sobs. I don't say a word just giving her the space she needs to say what she needs to say to empty her sorrows.

"Unfortunately, that's not all that I'm here to do by your side," she adds pulling herself back from me to face me. Our eyes connect as she continues, "I'm here to collect information about your arms business and your family. I've been delaying on that, which only means my next beating isn't far."

"That son of a bitch. Is that why your so called friend Graudyn paid you a visit?," I respond now understanding his presence.

"Yes, he came to warn me about my duties. I never wanted none of this Junior," Amoret sniffles as she wipes her tears away from her cheeks. Within her eyes I can see a broken women that's known nothing, but pain and abuse. She's completely vulnerable right now truth spilling out those blue eyes of hers. By the way she carried herself since I met her I would of never guessed this was her life.

"I'm sorry for what you're going through. No man should ever put hands on any female. I truly feel for you and will try to help, but I'm sure you're aware about this process. I must run all of this to know if this is your truth before I start thinking on how to proceed you understand?," I truthfully say as much as I feel like a complete dick for saying that it's true. I don't know Amoret enough for me to trust anything she says.

"I understand, but allow me to prove to you that I'm on your side. Graudyn is currently stealing arms from one your warehouses. My good friend K from back home texted me this morning. I'll show you the text message as proof as your informant," Amoret says as she pulls out her cell phone showing a text from a contact named K. My eyes widen as I instantly step out of the room looking for my phone on the counter to call Rubio.

"Rubio, we have been breached by the Russians," I immediately alert as soon as he answers. Instantly, after the warning I hear the alarm go off with a lot of gun shots firing right after. I hear Rubio shout at the men to go different directions in the warehouse. Amoret wasn't lying about Graudyn after all. This is exactly what my father wanted for her to turn.

"The Russians escaped. We will be contacting your father immediately," Rubio says after a few minutes of silence of being put on hold. My stomach flips knowing as soon as my father is alerted of what has happened as well as what Amoret has just told me things are going to get ugly.

"Alright, I'll be meeting Rios," I respond as I hang up.

"Have I proven myself?," Amoret utters as she sees me grab my jacket and keys ready to make my way out. I don't say anything instead I stop my eyes locking with hers. We both stare at one another in silence before I break my attention away exiting the door.

"Keep eyes on her and the premises. She isn't allowed to leave anywhere without my authorization understand?," I firmly say to Padilla as he nods in response.

Flashback ends now.

"Woah, this is all so soon not that it's at all bad. I will run this information to Rizo and Salma. I will notify you what we find," Rios says.

"How's my father after you know?," I ask letting curiosity take over.

"Well after the breach and what I'm about to inform him it's pretty common sense. So tell me little boss do you really want to know?," Rios raises a dark brow.

"Of course I would want to know. This is my family regardless of what happened," I truthfully respond.

"He has declared war."
