In order of appearance:

Norbert: (FlameSnout) is a Norwegian Ridgeback dragon, raised by Hagrid when he was very young. He is the first dragon Harry, Hermione, and Ron (and possibly Draco) had ever seen. None of them were convinced that Norbert was any smarter than a dog, though what do you expect for a baby dragon? Now that Norbert is a teenager (human age 14) he is much more intelligent. Harry thought that the dragon's message on his page was written by a silly person doing a prank, (probably Fred or George Weasley, he thought) However, Harry has soon proved wrong and found out it's not just people who can type. Norbert does not understand why Hedwig dosen't love someone of her own species and thinks she is crazy, which is fair enough. House: Norbert says that creatures shouldn't really belong in any Hogwarts house

Hedwig: (SarcasticStroppySnowy) is exactly what her name is- a feisty Snowy Owl who is very sarcastic (most of the time) She is the unusual core charcater of this story, an owl who loves Harry, a human! (One big reason for this is that there are no male Snowy Owls at Hogwarts) Hedwig is rather disappointed that Harry dosen't love her as much as she does. Her worst enemies are Salazar and Draco Malfoy. Because these characters are Slytherins, she really dosen't like this house, though she can act like a Slytherin when she gets very angry! House: Gryffindor 

Fawkes: (FireFeather) is Dumbledore's sensible phoenix. He tries his best to help Hedwig, but she always gets annoyed at him. Fawkes is afraid to break rules and will do what Hedwig wants him to do with permission. He has has been insulted quite a few times by Hedwig, being called 'dumb bum' and 'duffer'.(Hedwig gets even more annoyed when Fawkes says 'It's none of your business.'He feels sorry for Salazar, despite him attacking Hedwig, when Draco throws him across a room.  Like Norbert, he thinks that Hedwig is rather silly, but understands that she 'must be nuts about boys' House: Gryffindor

Salazar:  is a nasty eagle owl who is the animal companion of Draco Malfoy. He is very mean to Hedwig, attacking her many times and even hoping that Hedwig would die. At first, Salazar beat her up for no reason in the owlery, but he got so angry that Hedwig lost one of her toes in a fight with Salazar when  she tried to steal his lollies. (rather, Draco's lollies his owl was delievering to him.) He is determined to do many things to stop Hedwig from snatching the lollies, and is offended when anyone spells the name of his house wrong because he is so proud of it. Salazar has no nickname, he says that his original name is better than any other name he can think of.  House: Slytherin

Harry Potter: (Lightning44) doesn't like really Hedwig as much as she likes Harry. He is one of the many people who finds Hedwig very annoying sometimes. When Harry first sees what Norbert wrote about Hedwig, he believes that someone is playing a prank on him. However, he soon learns that this is not the case. He can be a bit careless about his Snowy Owl sometimes.   His real girlfriend is Ginny, who, surprisingly, often cares about Hedwig more than he does. Draco is also one of Harry''s enemies, but Salazar doesn't bother him too much because Salazar only attacks Hedwig and not himself. House: Gryffindor

Draco Malfoy:(MaliciousMalfoy14) has a similar personality and attitude to Salazar, just very slightly nicer. He says that he would  be Hedwig's boyfriend if Harry is so reluctant to be' but it is quickly revealed that he is lying when he shouts at Hedwig for stealing his lollies in the Slytherin common room. He likes his lollies so much that he is willing to go inside Moaning Myrtle's toilets to get them from Hedwig (when Myrtle and Hedwig are likely to get furious at him . Norbert thinks that name does not suit this Slytherin boy because he dosen't have much to do with dragons (can't transform into a dragon, nor has a dragon companion) Ginny embarasses him when she says that "Harry has lots of girls who like him because he is a cool, brave Gryffindor but you don't have any because you're a nasty Slytherin who is always mean to people!" To get a girlfriend he'll have to become a whole lot more... well, friendlier. House: Slytherin

Ginny Weasley (GingerCatGal32) is the kindest character of them all. When Harry is refusing to rescue Hedwig she is the only person who is willing to save Hedwig and even get herself injured.  Ginny is good at embarassing people (Norbert and Draco!) especially when she points out that Norbert bit her older brother Ron and made him get a very sore hand a while ago. She convinces Harry to care about his owl more and secretly thinks it is selfish for him not to let Hedwig stay in his room without stealing Draco and Salazar's lollies. House: Gryffindor

Magnus: (I-Love-Hedwig <3) is a Snowy Owl who is madly in love with Hedwig. He stops Hedwig being so obsessed with Harry, and now she loves him more than Harry. This is a good thing because Magnus is more caring about his girlfriend than Harry. Magnus is very dedicated and surprisingly fierce when he needs to be; and he is good at defending Hedwig from Salazar and Draco. Apart from Fawkes, he is the only character who remembers her hatchday and gives her a present. Magnus is used to his mates' sarcastic comments, and loves her anyway. Note: Magnus is my fan character and not created by J.K Rowling!  House: Hufflepuff

Buckbeak (NeighSquawk77) is a hippogriff who is friendly to Harry, Hermione, and Sirius when he lets them ride him, but when Norbert, Hermione, and Ginny join a silly chat he set up he upsets them by matching the girls up to the wrong people and leaving Norbert without a girlfriend! The trio are sure going to be angry at him soon.Buckbeak is yet another character who  does not like Draco; in Care of Magical Creatures he was very offended when he called him a 'great, ugly brute' and attacking him so much that Draco had to go to hospital! Buckbeak also put Hermione with Draco even though he likes Hermione. He is often called affectionately called 'Beaky' but he feels too old for this name now and is starting to get irritated when he is called by that name. Despite getting so excited about Valentines Day, Buckbeak does not have a mate of his own. House: Gryffindor

Hermione Granger (BookGirl) is one of Harry's best friends. She likes Buckbeak at first and even helps to save his life. Though, Buckbeak betrays Hermione by putting her with Draco in a chat, when he knows that they don't like each other, and she is embarassed! She has gone hiding somewhere, and she hopes that Buckbeak will be nicer to her soon. Hermione secretly hoped she would put with Ron, but he was not present at the chat. Hermione loves reading, as her nickname says, and is very intelligent. The characters she get on with are Harry, Fawkes, Hedwig, Magnus, Ginny, and of course, Ron. Many people do not understand why she the Sorting Hat didn't put her in Ravenclaw. House: Gryffindor
