His family, except Abigail, was brutally murdered when he was 26 and he just became a police detective
He's still a loving father towards Abigail, and he really tries

Is not interested in Pat since Pat, right after, started trying to be his boyfriend. Even though Paul was really fucking suicidal and anxious and not really into that. Because his wife just D I E D. He's still friends with him

He MIGHT be interested in Yandov, since Yandov gave him a lot of space but also made sure he was okay and he's even got him out of being a full on alcoholic. Yandov didn't want to win him over, he just wanted to be there for him. This makes Pat envy Yandov.

He's solving multiple crimes at the same time as trying to solve his murdered family crime, getting his disorders to be less of a issue and taking care of his child because he's terrified of being a horrible father since she barely knew her siblings and mother.

He's extremely overprotective of his daughter. Though his salary is really good, he mostly spends it on his daughter so she can have a pretty relaxing life. Though he still punishes her, he cares about her a lot. And with new friends who say one thing that's bad, he'll not tolerate.

He has been told to leave his job so he can have a break but he refuses.

In the story he'll be the one to just investigate and do interviews. He switched between good cop and bad cop.
