The chapter begins as Scott and Rae Shelby enter their apartment. The door isn't locked and Scott and Rae find Lauren inside with Charles Kramer and his bodyguards. Kramer tells Shelby and Rae that he warned them not to investigate his son, and his bodyguards knock Scott, Rae, and Lauren out. Shelby and Rae come to in their car to find it at the bottom of a lake. Shelby and Rae are tied to the steering wheel and Lauren is unconscious. Shelby and Rae can save themselves causing Lauren to die or can save Lauren causing her to live.
