[Ice covered Port Town]

When dawn soon arrived at the ice covered Port Town, the whole area was then deprived of demons as the angels present begun to decompose the corpses of their enemies by ways of burning. While such a grand clean up was happening in front of the town, Asagi and the rest of the archangels were then accommodated by the towns people inside their townhall in order to welcome their reinforcements that had helped them in their time of needs.

Of course the town itself had already long lost its mayor including the top soldier of the town a few days ago, due to that the towns representative were then left at the hands of David as he entertain the guest of the town. The reason why he was picked as the town's representative was because he has already prior connection towards the two archangels even before the army of reinforcements have arrived.

While the townspeople were accommodating their guest, the rest of the archangels then begun their own discussion the moment both Michael and Sandalphon had reported their findings for the last three days. Since the town has a scarcity of accommodating humans, gathering an information was not an easy tasks. Thankfully they had their prime informant in the form of David to fill them up.

After hearing the report from the two specific archangels, the rest of the archangels alongside Asagi then begun giving out comments towards the near danger level that both Michael and Sandalphon had experienced that night.

"Both of you really got beat up, you both look really terrible" laughed Gabriel

"Oh shut it! Fighting without rest for a few hours isn't that easy you know! Even if we are strong, we'll still get tired due to our physical incarnation" retorted Sandalphon

"Still that doesn't give you an excuse to get overwhelmed by such level of enemies... your an archangel for crying out loud! your the face of our military might! If you guys get dome in at this level, you will tarnish the image of our kingdom" said by Uriel

"Its all about reputation to you doesn't it? You think its that easy?" Asked Sandalphon

"Of course! As long as we go all out from the very beginning, we wouldn't be done in like that" retorted by Uriel

"I've got a lot of people to protect behind me!!! If I let loose at that moment then everything that I'm trying to protect would be utterly destroyed! Didn't you think of that? So much for the archangel who held the rune law of wisdom" argued Sandalphon

In that moment Uriel was then left speechless as he was unable to refut Sandalphon's words, after all as an archangel they were supposed to protect the weak not abandon them. His pure suggestion itself contradicts their virtue, due to that Uriel was then put into a thought for a second causing the area to turn silent.

In that moment Ariel then interjected in between them as she said.

"Now! Now! Everyone calm down! There's no need for anyone to be angry alright? We all have our reasons why it turn out this way... luckily we were fast enough to provide an immediate support right? Isnt that enough?"

At her words all archangel then looked at each other before Gabriel gave out his comment.

"Thats true... however that doesn't change the fact that Michael made a huge blunder at the earlier stage of the battle forcing Sandalphon to be cornered by sheer numbers... if that blunder didn't happen, then perhaps Sandalphon wouldn't be wrecked"

In his words Gabriel was talking about the time when Michael was caught off guard as he was swallowed up by a demonic beast worm. Due to him being swallowed up not only did the demonicbeast pressured Sandalphon as a lone defender, they were also able to stall Michael for a few minutes causing numerous placed in the town to be attacked by the demonic beast wave.

With that fact laid out in front and no other objection could deter it, Michael had no choice but to accept such blunder as his mistake.

"Indeed! I'm deeply sorry! If I didn't get caught by some trick of the enemy, then perhaps Sandalphon wouldn't be pressured by the number of the enemy side"

"It wasn't your fault Michael! That was just one of the cogwheel of the battle... having you taken out early wouldn't matter otherwise in the battlefield of ever changing events" said Sandalphon

"Maybe perhaps... maybe not..."

After listening to their conversation, Asagi then pondered for a bit before quickly changing the topic of the talk to something much more connected to the town. After all pointing fingers isn't a solution to everything, it is better for them to gather their thoughts and think of a way to help the town out of their predicaments.

"Anyway! Enough with that gloomy atmosphere! I'm not here to reprimand you of your blunder, in fact I'm here to congratulate you in finding this much information in three days time... even thought gathering information is hard in this type of eviroment, you were still able to gather this much... such a feat is commendable"

"Hah!" Reacted by both Sandalphon and Michael as they bowed their heads

With that Asagi then smiled as she moved on to the topic.

"Anyway... demons eh... I never expected to encounter them in this stage"

"Hmm? Did I hear that right? Were you expecting their presence your majesty?" Asked Uriel

"Pretty much! But I never expected them to appear this early in the game... in fact i picture them as something like a final level or boss type of thing" said Asagi

"Is that so? So their presence is an anomaly" commented by Uriel

"Yes! But that information isn't confusing at all since I already foreseen their appearance" said Asagi

"What do you mean?" Asks by Ariel

"Simple... every being has an opposite face on the other side of the coin... for example if there is humans then there is demi-humans, if there are elves then there are dwarves, if there are beastman then there are monsters, lastly if their are angels then naturally there would be demons as well" answered by Asagi

"I see... it make sense" said by Gabriel as he pondered it at the side

"If that is the case then what is the confusing part?" Asked by Ariel

"Well the confusing part is the demonic beast... I mean what are they? Hybrid of monster and demons? Or are they something like bred?"

"..."

"For starters it is impossible for it to be bred since just by seeing its sheer numbers... no matter how strong is the reproduction of the demons, they would never be able to create such a large number of units of monsters... it is simply impossible" said Asagi

"How can you say? Did you know when was the last time the demons were killed by all races? When was the last war?" Asks Uriel in deep thought

"Im not sure! In fact in order to confirm my theory then I needed to ask either the church or find some recording in some grand library... luckily for us that grand library is located at the city of mages... the city of Avalon"

In that moment Gabriel then picked up on something as he asked.

"Theory is it? Then do you mean that you have a general idea on how the demons are able to retreat such an army?"

"Yes! But if you want to know then I would gladly share it" said Asagi

"Please do" encouraged by Ariel

"Well what i came up is that such a number of monsters is only possible through the use of somekind of alchemy combined with technology... after based on my knowledge aside from a workforce like factory, only alchemy and science are possible culprit for mass production" answered by Asagi

"Wait! Wait! Wait a minute! Are you saying that the whole demonic beast army is made up of scientific alchemy mass production such as cloning?" Asked by Gabriel

"It is possible! Demonic cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy (or clone) of a demon. The term is generally used to refer to artificial demonic cloning, which is the reproduction of demonic cells and tissue. It does not refer to the natural conception and delivery of identical twins" said Asagi

"Therapeutic cloning would involve cloning cells from a demon for use in medicine and transplants. It is an active area of research, but is not in medical practice anywhere in the world... well currently that is... but if we include alchemy and magic then maybe it's possible at some point" added by Asagi

With that everyone was then flabbergasted.

"This is madness" reacted by Uriel

"I know right? Whats more two common methods of therapeutic cloning that are being researched are somatic-cell nuclear transfer and (more recently) pluripotent stem cell induction. Reproductive cloning would involve making an entire cloned demon, instead of just specific cells or tissues" said Asagi

"..."

If my assumption is right and there is a clone, then perhaps there is a core somewhere in this land which create such abomination... we need to find this reproduction core before we get overwhelmed" said Asagi

"This is crazy! The demons are like madmen!" Saud Ariel

"Well we can't actually question their sanity upon enacting such an abomination right? I mean they are the exact opposite of us, what would you expect?" Pointed out by Uriel

With that subject at hand, Asagi then decided to firstly put it aside as she will make her decision at a later date, as she faced towards the person of the town who accommodated them. Just by looking at David, Asagi then knew just what kind of civilization does the people of the north lived.

Nevertheless since David was accommodating enough to entertain them, Asagu then quietened down the archangels around her as she directed everyone's attention towards David.

"So your David? Your name... how ironic"

"Pardon?" Asks by David

"Im sorry... its just that your name is somewhat similar to a person I know" said Asagi

"..."

"David! King of Israel.... better yet its second king right after saul reign. The favorite shepherd of God... the guider of the whole kingdom of past... yep! That name is really ironic" said Asagi

"I see... I'm sorry to say but I'm not a king nor a shepherd nor a guider... I'm just an ordinary man who lost everything that was important to him" said David

"Is that so? Well I did hear about your circumstances, I believe that you couldn't find your fiancé's corpse when the demonic beast wave attack, due to that you concluded that she died right?" Asks Asagi

"... yes" replied by David as he turned towards Michael in a confused look

"Have you never considered that she might be alive?" Asks Asagi

"Well I did at the first few weeks... unfortunately I lost all hope, I mean It doesn't make sense for her to be alive if a demonic beast wave attack... plus if she were alive then why didn't she return to me?"

"...."

"So please... don't give me hope" said David as he showed a sorrowful face

At that even Asagi herself felt pity towards David, nevertheless no corpse whatsoever which makes it all the more weird.

Based on what Michael had reported, the demonic beast never meant to eat their prey but rather kill them. Meaning even if David's fiance was attacked by a demonic beast wave, then there was supposed to be a high chance of her corpse being found. However that wasn't the case at all which gives it doubt of her death.

If by some chance a third party was involved, then David's fiance might still be alive somewhere in this frozen wasteland. No matter what David's fiance disappearance was more likely smells fishy and it isn't the fact that they are currently in a port town where it naturally smell fishy.

"Looks like I have to look deep into it, not only are the demons are involved  looks like a third party is also involve"

In that moment Asagi knew the perfect person who is good at such secretive infiltration mission, looks like in the end she will have to rely to Gabriel.
