Chapter 53: A Simple Issue in a Small Kingdom

[Azure Kingdom, Sky Castle]

The very next morning Asagi was leisurely spending her time inside her stone garden hut while drinking a lukewarm tea that she had previously brewed at her free time. Just like yesterday both Anna and Lloyd had left early to head out towards the academies grounds at the first sign of dawn while also paying an early visit towards their parents home.

In fact both Anna and Lloyd seldom stays  in the castle any longer the moment the academy had started its term of schooling and their parents deciding to take residence on a small housing area near the castle walls and started their own business of small bakery under the financial support of Asagi. To sum it up both the siblings only spend about a quarter of their time on the castle grounds.

In the morning the siblings quickly did their morning routine in the castle such as cleaning and arranging things before setting off to the academy till mid noon. After that they will then return back to the castle for about an hour or two to accommodate Asagi for a  bit before heading home back to their parents at the end of the day.

Such a routine is quite hectic to the point it is tiring, due to that fact Asagi herself had once advised both Anna and Lloyd to relieve themselves from their duty and spend their lives as an ordinary child with their parents. Unfortunately the siblings felt that doing such things would be ungrateful to them, thus despite Asagi insisting them to quit the siblings then instead to insist to continue working under her, which Asagi eventually gave up on.

Nevertheless despite such drastic change in their duties, Asagi still payed them with generous wages befitting of their service every month. In fact due to her Kingdom's rising population, Asagi had literally surplus of people searching for jobs all around her kingdom. Thus in just a few slight moment of castle workers hiring job post being distributed all around the capital, Asagi's main castle was then immediately flooded with numerous people wanting to take on the job.

All in all she gained about 30 maids (all purpose), 15 butlers, 5 gardeners, 25 cleaners (in accordance to the size of the castle), 5 cooks, and 50 castle guards (assigned to assist the angels guarding the castle due to its size).

With such workforce under her beck and call, Asagi had literally nothing to do at all for the current moment. But aside from all of those linear jobs, the task on providing the mana core of her kingdom (the sole power generator of her kingdom as a whole) with mana, all those burden would then fall to Asagi and all of her archangels to provide.

Just this morning in fact both Michael and Gabriel had visited the deep depths of this kingdom and had replenished the mana core's mana with their own, which is enough to power the whole kingdom for two more months. But due to them being completely drained of their own mana, Asagi had then no choice but to give them a day off on their military duty and ordered both Uriel and Sandalphon in their stead.

With that Ariel was then left alone to guard Asagi all on her own once more.

At this very moment however just when everything was so peaceful to the point that is calming, the former emperor of the Amid empire then entered the garden grounds as he just got back from assisting his younger brother who was currently sitting on the throne, Emperor Rusch.

As Amos Arrived together with Leon on toe behind him fully armored, Amos then calmly sat opposite of Asagi and took out a golden cup from his pocket dimension and poured himself with the tea that Asagi had brewed. After taking a sip of the tea, Amos then leaned back on his chair as he commented on the tea.

"Its calming, but i prefer drinks that has some punch into it"

"Well it is a tea, its supposed to be calming.... If you want some drinks that has some punch into it, why not visit the nearest bar on the capital" asks Asagi as she calmly placed down her white tea cup

"Hah! Those wine and beer on the capital? such drinks are worthy of commoners, but not to someone like me" said Amos in a haughty tone

"So you have preference... How was your little visit? was it nostalgic to return to your home country for a day? i bet your homesick" said Asagi as she poured more tea on her cup and took a sip from it

"Homesick? Who? Me? Nahhh!!! I feel great! Now that i have no responsibilities tying me down, i can finally and freely explore the whole world in your kingdom as a type of transportation. You never know, i might be able to find something new on some unknown land on the north... we are heading north right?" asks Amos for confirmation

"Yes we are! based on the temperature of the weather that is blowing from the north, i can assure you that we are nearing its land" said Asagi

"you better be! after all no matter where i look around the edge of your kingdom, all i see are endless body of water" said Amos

"That's what sea or ocean means" replied Asagi

With that question being answered, the room then became silent for a moment between them as both Amos and Asagi continued to drink at their own leisure pace. Soon enough the teapot had then emptied out as a maid nearby quickly brought in another set of tea but this time Asagi didn't brewed it herself.

While waiting for the tea set to be prepared, both Asagi and Amos entered another discussion once more.

"So what do you think the north looks like?" asks Amos

"Well how would i know? I've never been to the north before, plus the reason why I'm going there is because i have some questions that needs to be answered" said Asagi

"Ah yes... Questions... You never did share to me what they are" said Amos

"Because it doesn't concern you at all" replied Asagi

"Anyway... i too have some questions that needed to be answered and maybe just maybe some Arch mage in the north could answer it, after all Arch mage are somewhat comparable to sages in terms of knowledge and theories, perhaps they can interpret some of my visions" said Amos

After hearing that, Asagi then became silent for awhile as she saw her cup being filled with tea  making her lift up her cup and took a sip on the warm tea herself. After that she then proceeded to chat with Amos

"Visions, premonitions, future sight... the faculty or state of being able to see the future with imagination or wisdom... I don't even know whether such an ability is a curse or a blessing"

"I think its a curse, after all its been with me since I'm young, the way i see it the ability to see the future is something ingrained to my soul... but i make full use of this curse throughout my life to turn it into a blessing which would guide me to the correct path in which i would take" said Amos

"So it's both a curse and a blessing" said Asagi as she took a sip once more

"I think its more like how one would use it would define whether one power is a curse or a blessing" said Amos as he took a sip on his tea

"..."

"For example if you were given a power of some sort like super strength or incineration, what would you do about?" asks Amos

"Well for super strength i would then try help some unknown people which needed my help, as for incineration i would try to use it less if i possibly can... in fact i could even seal it up if i have the means" answered Asagi

"Just like that! if you follow what you said about having super strength, then your mind would naturally label such power as blessing... As for the incineration power, since you deemed it dangerous and harmful to people, your mind would then label it as a curse and try to either suppress it or seal it up" said Amos

"..."

"but have you ever thought about the opposite?" asks Amos

"Opposite?" asks Asagi as she sips on her tea cup

"Yes! if one use super strength to bring about destruction to the point that the person couldn't control it, one would deem it as a curse... As for the incineration,  if one use it to help people, through obstacle remover or construction building, one would naturally deemed it as a blessing overtime... its like a two sides of the coin, each powers had its own opposite based on how one would use it" explained Amos

"I see... your quite a lecturer" commented Asagi

"Well i do learn some knowledge or two, after all i did become an emperor with my knowledge and practical experience" said Amos as he took a sip of tea

"Yes! Yes!"

Once more silence enveloped the place as bot Amos and Asagi sipped on their respective cup, after awhile both of them sighed at the same time as Amos calmly start up another topic for discussion.

"Anyway! the system that your kingdom is tracking is quite amazing and unique at the same time... it leans more on efficiency of its workforce as a whole rather than individualism of certain people, the way its being run is like making sure every person in the society could contribute to the rise of the economy in a particular area... its almost feel like a foreign system" said Amos

"Foreign... Yes" answered Asagi with a bead of sweat drooping down her face

"Is this a system that is implemented in this place wherein angels reside?... what do you call it? Ah yes heaven!!!"asks Amos

"Ah! Well... Heaven applies hierarchy system for all of its subjects, such a system that my kingdom is currently using is something that is appropriate for the human society" said Asagi

"Appropriate for human society?" asks Amos

"Yes!"

"Well if you say so" said Amos

"Much obliged" replied Asagi

"So what's the name of the system?" asks Amos as he took a sip of tea

"its called mixed economic system,  a system that combines aspects of both capitalism and socialism... A mixed economic system protects private property and allows a level of economic freedom in the use of capital, but also allows for governments to interfere in economic activities in order to achieve social aims... in which case i myself am the government" answered Asagi

"Government? is it a term which is used to describe the ruling power?" asks Amos

"Pretty much"

After that notion, both Asagi and Amos stayed silent for a moment once more as they finished their tea, after for what seems like and hour and a half Asagi then stood up from her seat and left the place as she bid Amos farewell.

*********

Few moments later located outside the kingdom walls of the kingdom, a certain small mount was laid out in the middle of the forest as a stone pillar was erected above it, such structure was created by Asagi with the purpose to temporarily symbolize the grave of her deceased parents on earth. After all today was their death anniversary and she has no way to visit them back on earth considering her current situation, thus she erected such mount.

After laying down her gifts and offering a prayer to the dead, Asagi then quietly stood up from the mount and slowly tell her life story towards her dead parents for the whole 1 year she had experienced with both this world and earth combined.

After for what seems like an hour of talking, Asagi then sighed for a bit as she remembers her time back on earth and longed for the day she returns to her loved ones such as her aunts and uncle that she left behind. After all the only reason why she was still sane and was thriving forwards to explore the world, is because she is determined to return back on earth and if she lost her motivation, she might totally lose it.

At this moment a speck of snow then rained down on the whole kingdom, completely surprising everyone that came from the middle continent. After all since the middle continent is based somewhere around the equator of the world,  they then had literally not seen snow at all nor do even know that snow exist, thus with the snow falling from the sky, everybody naturally regarded such phenomenon as a miracle.

Upon feeling the cold wind brushing past her skin and the snow falling from the sky, Asagi then realized that her whole kingdom itself were nearing the northern continent
