[Tekoa Town]

Filled with rage, the soldiers that failed in protecting the citizens roared out in anger towards the demon, as they charged in without a second thought for their own life. However despite their advantage in numbers and the fact that they surrounded the demon, none of them could even land a hit on it, as they were killed one after another.

From there, some of the soldiers finally realized the situation, as fear grew within them, causing panic to erupt within their formation. But even though they realized that they stood no chance against the demon, they also weren't able to escape fast enough to avoid their death.

In manner of few seconds, everyone was killed aside from the people who were quite far away from the citizens group.

While Rueben was momentarily shocked, Jabarin charged towards the demon in anger as he raised up his greatsword and slashed it down towards towards it. However the demon simply parried his attack to the side, as it clenched its fist and struck an attack towards Jabarin.

Luckily Jabarin was able to offset the impact from his previous attack, as he quickly lifted up his sword, just in time to block the demons counter, which launched him backwards.

Afterwards when Jabarin was pushed back, the demon then quickly rushed towards him, as it raised it claws into the air and slashed down towards Jabarin. Once again Jabarin used his sword to block the attack, as he anchored his foot unto the ground to prevent him from being blown away by the force of the demon's attack.

The moment he did such a thing and manage to actually block the attack, the force from the attack itself vibrated throughout his body, making him somewhat slightly overwhelmed to the point that he bent one of his knee.

However Jabarin just won't simply take this lying down as he pushed himself up and slashed his sword, only to be dodged by the demon who blinked behind him, before getting struck on the back with an uppercut which sent him flying towards the carts from afar.

In that moment Rueben finally snapped out of his shocked state, as he realized the grave situation, before loading up his crossbow and taking aim. However just as he was about to take aim, the demon suddenly appeared before him, giving him shock once more as the demon's face which resembled Ester, looked down on him like he was nothing.

It may not be apparent on it's expression, but it's eyes were filled with intense hatred towards everyone who wronged him. As a person who also wronged him, Rueben had a hard time looking straight into the demon's eyes. Unknown to him, he was petrified by its gaze as the anger within the demon froze shock Rueben in this state.

But just as the demon was about to kill Rueben due to his defenseless state, Zaheer suddenly intervened and intercepted the demon's attack.

"Snap out of it dumbass!!! If you want to die, do it later"

As Zaheer said those words filled with irritation towards Rueben's state, he then sent out quick multiple slash towards the demon, forcing the latter to act defensively and defend itself from his attack.

However despite that attack, the demon still came out unscathed, as it glared towards Zaheer before it raised up its right hand and hammered it down towards him. In response to this, Zaheer swung his sword upward to parry the attack, causing the impact to slightly numb his arm, before he used his swords to block the follow up kick that came after which sent him flying.

Because of that follow up attack the force from the kick literally destroyed his swords, causing him to fully take in the shockwave the came after which sent him flying. But in that few clashes, he lost another weapon from this battle alone.

The moment Zaheer was sent flying, Rueben then quickly distanced himself away from the demon, as he aimed his crossbow at it, before firing off his overcharged bolts towards the demon itself.

At the moment his bolt hits the intended target, explosion the erupted, burying the demon from the flames of his attack. But as soon as the flames and smoke dispersed in the wind, the demon still walked out unscathed as it glared towards Rueben.

In a blink of an eye the demon suddenly appeared before Rueben once more, forcing Rueben to instinctively activate his escape spell and further the distance between them.

"Eject!!!"

Just like that Rueben blinked away from the demon, as he landed on top of one of the building from afar, before he took aim and launched a barrage of attacks towards the demon that resemble like a machine gun due to how fast the rate the bolts are being fired.

However despite the speed of its attack, the demon was still able to easily dodge all of them as his blitz through the battlefield, only to get intercepted by Jabarin who took advantage of the cover fire and succesfulky ambush the demon.

Because of that sudden ambush, the demon was sent flying back from Jabarin's attack, before he suddenly got drowned by Rueben's rapid firing of his exuding bolts.

Somewhat annoyed by the bolts, the demon then ket out his intense mana to form a type of barrier around him which literally blocked all of Rueben's attack. Upon seeing this Rueben then abruptly stopped his attack, as he realized that with the barrier on, his attacks will be useless as he will be just wasting his mana for nothing.

From there he then glanced at the only special bolt on his pocket that was not made out of mana, as he ponders whether to use it or not in this situation.

During that time when Rueben stopped his attack, Jabarin then took this time to catch up towards the demon, before swing his sword towards it, only to get blocked by its barrier that it had erupted around it.

Failing to land a hit, the demon in question then enhanced the sharpness of its claws once more as it sent out a sharp mana wave towards Jabarin, forcing him to  block the attack with his sword and his whole body. Unfortunately Jabarin greatly underestimated the force from the attack, as he received internal damage just from trying to tank the demon's attack.

But despite that, he then instead raised his mana to even greater heights, causing shockwave to erupt towards the surroundings, as he offset the pain with his will power before slashing down his blade.

From there he was planning to use his impact slash towards the demon in order to fully cut it in half, however he realized that it's barrier was still active, which made Jabarin to think for a second whether his attack would be blocked or not.

But no matter how he thinks about it, the only way for Jabarin to break through its defenses, was to overpower its barrier with an even greater attack of its own. Due to that he raised his mana to the maximum degree which shook the earth, as he poured everything in this strike in order to atleast kill the demon infront of him.

All of these ran through his head in that few seconds interval, as he decided to swing down his sword with great strength.

However surprisingly for everyone, Rueben shot out a bolt in that very interval of a moment, as the bolt was specially made to counter mages and easily pierced through the demon's barrier and squarely hitting its heart.

The moment the bolt manage to hit the demons heart, the barrier protecting the demon was disrupted, as the mana within the demon begun to be disrupted making it hard for the demon to even cast a spell.

Simply put the bolt itself has anti-magic property due to a certain special metal that can only be found on the eastern continent. Due to this specific metal, all manner of mana was immediately neutralized and even disrupted the mana flow within the demon's body. Taking note that the reason why the demon's body was so tough, was all due to its mana coursing through its veins, now that it is disrupted, the demon itself became ad soft as paper in this moment.

With that Jabarin's attack managed to inflict a huge cut across the demon's shoulder down to its waist, causing the demon to scream in pain, before jumping away.

"You finally got wounded!!! I'll kill you this time"

As Jabarin realized that his attack finally wounded the demon, he was then excited once more as he charged forward in order to finish off the demon.

However as a surprise for everyone, the demon itself easily located the reason why it can't use mana, and did something unexpected that no one dared to do before.

The demon itself had stabbed him self to its heart, as it grabbed its heart and pulled it out of its body. The moment it pulled out its heart, it then begun to concentrate the flow of his mana unto its heart, conjuring a heart that is made out of mana and became the replacement for his hollowed heart.

Because the demon replaced its heart with a mana materialized heart, his mana flow begun moving once morethrough its body, as it's mana was released in order to push back Jabarin, while it closes up its wound.

Seeing this Jabarin and Rueben was surprised as the demon literally did such a stunt in order to take out the bolt that prevented its mana to flow. Never did they expect that the demon was crazy enough to do such a thing, much less that one fatal mistake could lead to its death. However the demon itself succeeded with that attempt and its angry even more.

Seeing the wound regenerating itself, Jabarin couldn't help but curse out loud as he couldn't do anything but watch it get healed while he was being suppressed.

Not long after the wound was fully healed as the demon stood before Jabarin, giving him into a the depths of endless hopelessness.

Refusing defeat, Rueben then raised his mana once more in rebel against the demons oppressive mana, as he attacked the demon itself.

Like that multiple clashing sounds rung up in the surroundings, as Jabarin was trying to fight off the demon itself under the cover fire from Rueben. With their combined effort, they manage to stall the demon for about 10 minutes, until Rueben was taken down first due to a mistep that he had made.

With demon's claws piercing through his stomach, Rueben looked at the demon's face once more which resembled Ester, as emotions filled with regret can be seen in his own eyes. Nevertheless despite the emotion that he felt, Rueben still gave out his last words before being taken out.

"No matter how much I regret it, I really still don't like you"

As Rueben said those words, he then took out a knife from his pocket and use it to stab his own heart which manually activated his final trap whenever someone tries to kill him in the future. He just never expected that he would need to use it today of all time just to take down one demon.

With that a huge and powerful explosion rung out as the earth shook and the cloud in the skies being blown out of the way. With Ruebens death, he self destruction into a huge bomb which shocked even the demon itself.

However despite Rueben's sacrifice and his body turning into ash, the demon still came out from the explosion with minor injuries, which deeply plunged Rueben once more into hopelessness. All in all, Rueben's sacrifice was useless in front of absolute power.

With that Jabarin was kept alone to deal with the demon.

Naturally Jabarin lasted for another three minutes against it, however he was greatly exhausted at that time and was getting slower. So the moment his momentum faded away, the demon cuts off both of his arm, before crushing Jabarin's legs.

The moment this happened Jabarin fell unto the ground, as he saw the demon was about to step on its face. Seeing that he won't be able to defend from this, Jabarin couldn't help but grit his teeth in anger as he cursed the demon.

"I hope you die a painful death!"

The moment Jabarin let out that curse, the demon then crushed Jabarin's head, completely killing all the forces that was once protecting the town.

After that it begun devouring Jabarin and Rueben's soul, as it grew even more stronger that it originally was. For some reason the demon was feeling refreshed and esctatic. But amidst it's great feeling, another person walked out from the rubble as Zaheer was planning to face the demon head on.

With Jabarin and Rueben being killed, he was the last in line before the demon could get to Asagi. For some reason he don't know the reason why he is risking his life to fight against such an opponent. But he knew that if the demon manage to kill Asagi and absorb its soul, it will then become a catastrophe that all the continents can't handle.

No matter what he must take the demon down and prevent it from going to Asagi.
