Rage, an indescribable amount of rage filled Ester's heart as he held down Rueben. Intense rage which is heightened state of anger that is extreme and often overpowering. It goes beyond regular anger, resulting in a profound loss of control over emotions and actions. Individuals experiencing intense rage may feel an overwhelming need to lash out, whether verbally or physically, and may struggle to think clearly or rationally.

This level of anger can lead to destructive behaviors, harm to oneself or others, and long-lasting emotional consequences. It is often accompanied by physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating, and a surge of adrenaline.

In this state of mind, it Ester's patience is practically at the edge as he is really close at losing himself, the only reason why he was still holding on to his reasons was because he is in front of her daughter. No matter what he can't afford to let her daughter see the ugly side of him.

In this moment before he could lose it, Ester suppressed his rage for a little as he begged Rueben.

"Please! I'll forget this ever happened, I'll even go away, please give her back, she means a lot to me please!"

Seeing Ester begged him, Rueben couldn't help but slowly lose respect for him as he kept his thoughts to himself. His once dignified and happy going captain, was now in front of him begging to let his wife go. His previous image was completely now overwritten by his pathetic sight.

At that time the rest of the town's brigade members pointed their weapons at him as they also begun threatening him with the safety of her daughter which he left behind right at the door of their office.

"Let me go Ester, you already lost your wife, you can't afford to lose your daughter now"

Seeing that they had his daughter in point blank range with their weapons, Ester slightly mellowed down as he let go of Rueben and slowly stood up. Now that he thought about it, Ester realized one particular thing about this group. All of the members were new faces, he can't hell but notice that none of the old members were here.

"You got one loyal group here, but I can't help but afford to notice that none of the original members are here, where are they?"

"As I've said before Ester, a lot of things had changed since you split from us... when you left us behind, they guys... they didn't survive the return trip, I was the remaining survivor of the previous town's brigade" lied by Rueben as he slowly stood up as chose to hid the truth from Ester.

After all the death of the original members were a foregone conclusion to his rise in position and a proof of loyalty towards the mayor. Even though the original town's brigade were loyal to mayor Zoabi, they were too upright and righteous for Mayor's Zoabi's true nature.

Due to that instead of being a helpful bunch, the town's brigade instead turned into a thorn the moment mayor Zoabi supported the cult from the shadows. With that they contacted the only person who have a twisted ambition in their group and convinced him to side with the mayor to bring down the current town's brigade, and that person was Rueben himself.

However that piece of lie greatly shocked Ester As he couldn't believe the death that his previous companions had suffered. They were all loyal to the group, they were like a second family to him, they supported each other and even comforted each other during the hard days, he just can't believe that they were now gone. In that moment another part of Ester's reality was destroyed.

Upon seeing his state of mind, Rueben then sighed for a bit as he suddenly felt pity towards his former captain and shared a piece of information towards him regarding his wife Ziv. Even though this hoes agaisnt the wishes of Mayor Zoabi, Rueben concluded that Ester wouldn't be able to do anything even though he knew about where his wife is, after all Jabarin and his group was by the Mayor's side and that bunch is on a whole new level of fighting capability than thr town's brigade.

"One piece of information for old times sake... your wife Ziv, I didn't do anything to her nor take her, someone else took her and raped her throughout the night"

"Mayor Zoabi! He's the one who violated your wife and took her"

The moment Ester heard that, a other piece of his reality broke apart once more as he suddenly learned that the person he stayed most loyal to, was the very person who raped and took his wife. One after another the reality that he had once known was breaking apart, he was slowly losing it.

In that sense Asmaveth's claims begun to ring on his head regarding the Mayor's misdeeds. For a long time he had defended Mayor Zoabi, his loyalty towards him was something else, it was to the point that he would even risk his life for him. However everything was slowly breaking apart as he slowly learn that everything he knew was a fake all along.

"Even if you know about it, I advise to give up on retrieving your wife, she is his plaything now, plus Jabarin is there, you will never win against him"

After Ruebn said those words, he then asked for Ester to leave their premises as he turned his back on him without any intentions of comforting him back.

On the other hand despite Rueben's warning and the clear difference in skills, rage then slowly filled his head once more as he now know where to direct all his feelings from having his wife taken and violated.

In that moment Ester didn't care whether he once respected Mayor Zoabi or not, nor whether Jabarin was stronger than him or not, since all that he knew was breaking apart, then there's no point on keeping it together as he slowly directed his anger towards the mayor. No matter who, he needs to get his wife back.

Without looking back he then pulled along Talia as he walked towards the Mayor's estate.

[Mayor Zoabi's Estate]

Currently drinking his cup of warm tea while on a robe, Mayor Zoabi seemed refreshed as if he had done something that he should be proud of. Looking through his window and basking on the sunlight, his closest attendant then suddenly knocked on the door before coming in and bringing some news.

Since the office work is much smoother in the day than during the night, it didn't take long for the mayor to learn about Ester's return, as he heard it directly from his attendant.

"Mayor! Ester is alive, apparently he also survived from his mission and seemed to be well off with some companions he had made along the way"

"He's Alive? I thought he was dead"

"There seems to be some misinformation, perhaps Captain Rueben had mistaken his missing in action as dead on the field"

"Well this will be a problem"

"What is Mayor?"

"His wife... Ziv" said by Mayor Zoabi as he plans to confess to his attendant.

After all everyone around him and near his inner circle are already in cahoots with him throughout the plan. Alongside him, they had also supported the cultists existence and longed for the promise of eternal life. Not only that but some of his closest confederates are actually people who are prominent to committing crime.

The only reason why such people are still freely roaming around was all be ayse he is helping them in exchange for some benefits.

"What about her Mayor?"

Hearing the mayor laugh, the attendant suddenly realized something, as he seemed shocked for a moment, before regaining his composure. Indeed, this was supposed to happen sooner or later, after all he fully well know how the mayor reacts, plus this isn't the first time he had taken interest in a woman before.

Before Ziv, the mayor had taken interest of about 34 woman throughout his life, each of the woman are beauty in their own right. However all of those said woman met their gruesome fate in the hands of the mayor. After rejecting the Mayor's proposal to become his, those said woman would disappear overnight and never be seen in the public eyes ever again.

Apparently the mayor had a deep greed for woman, so whenever he gets rejected by them, he would kidnap them, brought to him and would later on rape them till morning. However that won't end there, afterwards they would then be locked up in the Mayor's underground prison in his estate and be bound up by chains.

Every time the mayor gets heated up, he would come down to his underground space and rape the woman all night, his obsession would last for a long time,  to the point that he would impregnate them over and over again. Once he gets tired of the woman, he would them throw them to his own soldiers for them to have their way towards them. Naturally the women who ended up in this phase would be raped to death.

That's just how twisted the mayor is.

"I understood, but this will be quite a problem, his instincts are good, he would soon know who took his wife and would try to retrieve her no matter what, your safety is at risk"

Hearing that assurance, The attendant finally understands why the mayor was not worried despite the risk that he may face against Ester.

"I see you have it covered already"

"Not much, after all even though he can't hurt me, he can still fight outside by ruining my reputation"

As mayor Zoabi said those words, he suddenly heard a scream at the direction of the Mayor's estate entrance, as he sounds came to learn what happened when some servants informed him that Ester had come.

"Speak of the devil, look who's here"

"Be careful mayor!"

"Don't worry he won't be able to do anything against me, I tell you"

After arriving at the gates of the Mayor's estate, he then grabbed tightly along the gates as he shouted for Mayor Zoabi himself.

"Mayor! Please! Give my wife back!"

Soon after Mayor Zoabi then came out of his mansions door, as he boldly claim.

"Ester! My boy your alive! I can't believe this miracle"

"Please mayor! Don't play games with me, give my wife back"

"Huh? What do you mean Ester my boy? Your wife is not here, I don't have your wife"

"Please... don't lie! Don't lie! Don't lie! Don't lie! Don't lie! Don't lie! Don't lie! Please don't lie mayor! You know how keen my senses are, I know she's in here, please give her back" begged by Ester

Hearing Esters claim, Mayor Zoabi was shocked on how Ester knew so fast about his wife, as he held back his curiosity, and faced Ester.

"As I've said my boy! She is not here, please don't force your way unto me"

Upon hearing Mayor Zoabi denying it once again, rage swelled up once more, as Ester is undergoing mix emotion of grief and anger. Now that it seems his begging didn't work, he then had no choice but to let go and let his anger consume him.

"You bastard! You crazy bastard! I know she is in here, I can sense her, so give her back to me right now!"

"Ester! What did you just call me?"

"Bastard! Bring her back, or else I'll break down this gate"

Upon seeing Ester seething with rage, Mayor Zoabi seemed enraged by Ester's behavior as he cursed him back.

"You ungrateful bastard! Just who do you think that has been helping you on life this whole time? How dare you accused me? Do you have a death wish?"

"I'm not afraid of death unlike you pathetic thugs, give my wife back right now!""

Faced with intense anger, Mayor Zoabi seemed hesitant to provoke Ester even more, as he was afraid that he might really destroy his property, however his emotions calmed down once more the moment Jabarin intervened and assured him that he will take care of Ester.

"Let me take it from here mayor"
