Chapter 171: Darkness Without Evil

[Outskirts of the City of Anvil]

"Necromancer?"

Tilting his head to the side as if confused by the term, Asmaveth seemed to be in distraught and confusion as he didn't know what Asagi was talking about. Alongside his confusion, he was also restrained tightly by an unbreakable chain of light, which literally suppressed his deathly aura from corroding it.

This was the first time that Asmaveth saw something in which his aura cannot corrupt. With that he couldn't help but feel even more vigilant at the same time worry for his safety alone.

"Why? First time hearing that class?" Asked by Asagi

However despite her kind question, Asmaveth stayed silent as he felt like even his own power seemed to retract from Asagi, it was as if his power of death alone seemed to be afraid of even contacting her. One proof of that fact that everytime Asagi was walking close to him, he can feel his power cower back inside of him as if not daring to touch her. But despite that silence Asagi kept her composure as she regarded such silence as assurance to her questions.

"I'll take your silence as an affirmation that you don't know what kind of power you got... well simply put the power of necromancer is a vile and disgusting power, simply put that its nature was to defile life itself"

"Ah!"

Hearing that Asmaveth seemed taken aback from those words as such words literally describe his current situation. But if that was true, then there is no turning back from this power any longer as he will be forced to be loathed by the people as long as he lives.

"That is the general stigma for the necromancer, however there are records that state that there are rare cases that necromancers once lived among the living despite inhibiting an opposite element, they are loved, cared, and even taken care of by the living"

Once more Asmaveth was taken aback as he didn't expect that there would be such a side in the fate of the necromancer. The feeling of being accepted again, the feeling of living together with other people again without the fear of killing them, the feeling of being alive, he wants such feeling to come to him too.

"How? What did they do? Please tell me! Is there a way to get rid of this or control this? I want to be able to live a normal life, please I beg of you.... if there is a slither chance that I may return to normal, I'll do anything"

In that moment Asagi saw desperation in Asmaveth's eyes. Desperation is a visceral state of extreme need or desire, often accompanied by feelings of hopelessness, urgency, and a willingness to take drastic measures to alleviate the situation. It's like being trapped in a corner with no way out, feeling like you'll do anything to escape or find relief.

When a person is desperate, they may experience a range of behaviors and emotions. They might act impulsively, make decisions they wouldn't normally consider, or feel overwhelmed by anxiety and stress. Desperation can drive people to take risks they might otherwise avoid, and it can cloud their judgment as they search for solutions to their problems.

In this moment, Asmaveth was experiencing such phenomenon with no questions asked. With that, with an intent to make him owe her, Asagi then went on one knee in front of him and said.

"You need to suppress you powers first"

"How!"

"That... Azrael can help you, right Azrael?"

Hearing Asagi pushing the responsibilities to him, Azrael thought for a bit as he too was kind of interested on what type of death does Asmaveth posses, after all the aura of death that he has is pure death, meanwhile what Asmaveth has is loatheful death, a type of death which came from the loathe of its victims.

With that in mind, Azrael then gave a sigh, as he nodded.

"I can, your majesty! Leave it to me"

With that Asagi smiled as she then turned to Asmaveth.

"Well from this moment on, you'll be under the guidance of Azrael, as long as you couldn't control your power, you have no permission to roam free... from this moment on, our words is your Alma mater, you will follow everything we say as long as you can't control your power alright?"

".... yes... yes yes thank you, ill be in your care"

For the first time ever since he was unwillingly turned into a necromancer, Asmaveth saw hope as he fell on his knees crying in joy. At last there was hope for his case.

On the other hand Ester felt repulsive by how Asagi and his group handled him yesterday. They're act alone on attacking an officer is a crime worthy of being detained, however due to that fact that the people in front of him are strong and many, it would quite hard for him to even think of detaining them, much less escaping from his restraints. However despite that, he saw something quite unexpected as the people inront of him seemed unaffected by the deathly aura that Asmaveth exudes.

For the first time he then begun to question himself.

"Just who are these people?"

In that moment Asagi stood up as he looked around and saw Ester on the side that is being guarded by both Jophiel and Hero Sato. Since two high class powerhouse are guarding his every movement, there was no chance of him escaping at all.

"By the way what's your name?" Asked by Asagi towards Asmaveth

"Asmaveth... myname is Asmaveth"

"Then what about him?"

"I believe his name is Ester, I heard his comrades call him that" answered by Asmaveth

Hearing that Asagu then nodded in accordance as she walked towards the said person.

"You said that he was being chased by the Tekoa town brigade I also overheard that you came from that force, can you elaborate what you mean? Why is this town called Tekoa after him and where is this Tekoa town?"

Glaring back at her, Ester spat on the ground as he replied.

"Do you think i would tell you? What makes you think that? There is nothing good about letting you guys into my town, if you think that I would risk the towns safety for you guys, think again"

Seeing the hate and anger seeped within him, due to Asagi helping a person who committed atrocities, Ester then chose to stay silent in order to keep his family safe from harm.

Upon seeing that, Asagi then stood up and turned towards her companions.

"Well this will be a problem"

In that moment Hero Sato then stepped up and asked a question towards Asagi.

"Is it really that important to go to the town that persecuted the necromancer?"

"Its not that its a matter of we need to, but it is a matter of we have to, it's like my conscience is telling me to atleast help the guy... don't you feel the same when you see people sleeping kn the streets?" Asked by Asagi

"Well..."

"It doesn't need to bean intentional feeling, but rather a feeling or thought that just came in like a fly, don't you atleast feel that way in your whole life experience?"

"I... I do"

After Sato said that, he then remembered the pitiful people who were sleeping in the streets back on earth, there are many circumstances that lead on why such people sleeps on the streets, it may be because they are homeless, poor, thrown away, or run away from home, but one thing for sure that because he was raised as a good kid who can discern good and bad, he always felt helpless in front of such people and wanted to help them, however he does not have the power at all to change their life.

Instead of being cautious, all he felt was pity. However the reason why he was now hesitant to help those in need in the streets was because of the dependency of the people in the streets that lead to exploitation and laziness. Because of humanity's inherent kindness, some people often took it for granted and depend on such way of life just to get by, some exploit their pitifulness, some exploit their circumstances, but yhe worst of all is that some exploit children to do their begging.

Too much kindness can also be harmful to oneself, due to that Sato is quite hesitant to help people that are not properly introduced.

"I hope he won't depend on you" warned by hero Sato

"He wont" replied by Asagi

"That what they all say at first"

"Don't worry about it, if by chance he did become too dependent on me just to live, I'll decided on what to do with him"

As they both talked about that Ban and the rest of the Hero's party then came close.

"So your majesty! How do we get to Tekoa town now?" Asked by Ban as she looked at Asmaveth who is talking to Azrael

"Thats the problem I don't know"

In that moment as if it was per chance, a person with a camel came over the dune and was surprised to see a lot of people gathered at the bottom of the dune itself. Of course the sudden appearance of another person didn't go unnoticed to everyone present as all eyes turned to the said person.

Naturally, faced with many eyes directed at it, the person himself held tightly on his helm on his camel and asked shakily.

"What's happening here? Is there some kind of a problem?"

In that moment, Zaheer stepped up and answered.

"Actually we do! Me and my group just captured a runaway fugitive"

"Fugitive!!!!"

"Yes yes yes calm down and listen to me, since we already captured him, we were planning to return to Tekoa town, however we lost track in which direction should we head"

"You lost sight of your way?"

"Yes"

"Ah! I see... that's unfortunate"

As silence enveloped them for a few seconds, the person then said.

"Thankfully I'm also heading to Tekoa town, if you would like.... we could travel together"

".... is that fine with you?"

"Yes! In fact! It's better to travel with a company, rather than alone"

"I see! Alright let's head there together"

After Zaheer sealed the deal, he then gave a thumb up at Asagi, causing Asagi and the Hero's party to put up a thumbs up too. With that the group thenfinalky had a direction to base on and head towards Tekoa town.

Time pass by, the sun then finally sets as everyone gathered to the bonfire made by Hino, the Ranger of the Hero's party. As the sky darkened the stars then appeared as it numbers filled the sky and illuminating the darkness on the land. Of course each and everyone of them had their own conversation in order to pass the time, one oarticular conversation is between Hero Sato and Takahashi, the swordsman of the team.

"Hey!" Greeted by Takahashi as he sat down beside Sato

"What's up?" Asked by Sato

"Nothing much, but I feel like I'm lacking something from my swordmanship" said by Takahashi

"You? Lacking? That's not funny! Out of everyone in the class, you have the best swordmanship there is, it is so good you even defeated me in swordmanship class"

"Is that so? Well thanks for the praise, but I do need to improve myself.... I just don't know what my flaws are right now"

"Well looks like you need to find it"

"Yeah! I really do, so can you help me?"

"On what?"

"During our free time, I want both of us have a light spar, is that alright with you?"

"Sure why not"

As both of them talked it out on what to do and how to solve their flaws as individuals, Asmaveth on the other hand approached Azrael who is standing outside the camp and looking at the pitch darkness itself.

Sensing that someone was approaching from behind, Azrael then took a quick glance as he asked.

"What do you need?"

"I want you to tell me something"

"What is it? Speak"

"Tell me how to control my powers"
