~Volume 3 Western Continent (Land of the Scorching Sun)~

[Cold Northern Ocean >>> Warm Sea]

A month has passed since they left the city of Avalon behind, the whole floating Kingdom of Azure had finally left the land of ice and snow and finally reached the cold northern ocean in which they had once came in. Following this course downwards, they would then steer to the west as they head towards the land prophesized by the principalities to Asagi back at the city of Avalon 'The land of Scorching Sun'

They don't know what dangers may lurks in that land, but since the principalities had issued them to head over towards that land and find some clues in returning home, Asagi then had no choice but to comply as she slowly uncover the truth of her being sent into this world devoid of a god.

IN this one month, the city of Avalon had become quite busy as they hastily finish the construction of the teleportation tower. Asagi don't know how but in the span of just near 1 month, the magicians and alchemist had managed to build their own teleportation tower using golem magic and various construction able related magic. For some reason it seems their knowledge had played a huge part in the construction of the tower in order to hasten its building time.

Alongside it, the teleportation tower located near the tribes of the barbarian in the snow peak mountain range had also finished its construction despite its crude design to adapt to its terrain. For security the mages of avalon deployed some apprentice mage towards that area in order to guard the tower alongside some barbarians who also volunteer for this important job.

All in all both the city of mages and the barbarians had finally made a way to travel between territory and trade their goods much easily, at the same time they would be able to comply to various meetings held by the country or places that has connection to the the floating kingdom. Form this moment on the great alliance had been born.

But putting everything else aside and the fact that the temperature in the kingdom has gotten warmer after a long time which slowly changes the stuff being sold at the kingdom's store and the activity being held in the kingdom, a major issue is currently being observed inside the castle as Asagi is together with Ariel, Anna, and Lloyd.

They are currently observing the sphere of light in the middle of the room as they had a much visible view of the the two unborn child inside the sphere in which they are now at the size comparable to a 7 month old fetus. A month ago the twins had reported to them that the unborn baby can now be seen and now are at the size of a bean. Now that a month has passed, their transition had been to fast as the unborn baby are slowly forming human body parts in their body.

It may seem grotesque at first with all those visible veins, brain, heart and all. But as the fingers started to form alongside its head legs and even stomach, one cant help but marvel in this miracle in which no one would be able to witness back in the modern world. Nevertheless the two unborn children were growing too fast.

"Aren't they growing too fast?" asked by Asagi as she crossed her arms

"They are indeed growing too fast your majesty" replied by Ariel

"Isn't this bad? cause i mean there is a reason why a human baby takes 9 months to fully form" complained by Asagi

"That i cant answer your majesty! after all angels were never born the normal way but rather created through mana" answered by Ariel

In that moment as if giving her  a brief explanation on why it took human babies 9 months to develop, a system pop up appeared before Asagi and answered her troubles.

Among primates, human have the least developed brains at birth, at least when compared to adult human brains. The prevailing explanation for why pregnancy last 9 months long boils down to something called the "obstetrical dilemma." Humans walk upright. And the size and shape of our pelvises are constrained by our bipedal way of getting around in the world. If they got much bigger, mothers wouldn't walk as well. So babies' brains could only get so big and still fit through the birth canal, the conventional wisdom holds.

With that explanation, Asagi understood for a bit why human babies develop for 9 months, but that still doesn't explain why the unborn children were growing too fast than ordinary. The only logical answer they could reach was because the kingdom was rich with mana and the babies were coated with the rune law of life which governs the life cycle of all beings that exist within the universe.

As they ponder over this, Lloyd pulled unto the clothes of Asagi as he asked.

"Are they going to have problems if they grow too fast?"

"Well all we could do is pray that they wont have any means of deformity"

"I see"

Following Asagi's words, Lloyd then prayed over the unborn children for their safe and healthy delivery. On the other hand while Lloyd was busy doing those things, Anna noticed something along the back of the unborn children as she pointed them out.

"What are those small bones sticking out its back?"

Hearing her words, both Ariel and Asagi looked over towards the unborn children and realized the formation of an additional aspect of the children. Those Babies were growing wings, a side effect of Ariel messing with their genes to remove the majority traits of the barbarians that had impregnated their victims.

"Those are...." Trailed off by Asagi

"Wings" finished by Ariel

Some time later while putting in mind about the sudden change in genetics in the unborn children, Asagi then left the room together with Ariel, Anna, and Lloyd, as they crossed the hallway and headed over towards the throne room of the kingdom. 

As they walked along the hallway, the light of the sun finally pierced through the thick clouds as it shone directly towards Asagi which caused her to squirm her eyes and somewhat shield them from the sunlight reflected on her window. Despite the blinding light, she never rejected the warmth it gave as it reminded her that they were finally exiting the cold lands.

Upon arriving at the throne room, Ariel's eyes darted towards the corner of the room, as she noticed Azrael silently lurking in the shadows as if waiting for Asagi's arrival. While this came in shock for Ariel and surprise to the twins, Asagi on the other hand couldn't care less as she knew before hand about Azrael's presence even before she opened the door. After all his mana signature was so unique that it was easy for her to distinguish it despite all the mana circuits along the castle walls.

The moment Asagi reached her chair and took a sit, she then opened her mouth to ask about Azrael's concern.

"What are you doing here Azrael?"

"The issue of me being here is not that much of a concern for you your majesty, in fact you can even disregard my presence if you will it"

"I cant disregard you... you are one of the my archangels, a possessor of the rune law of death a very powerful power... and the only archangel who does not want an army or a group under it, so you are quite a special case that can't be ignored"

"That is because i like to work alone your majesty"

"If you say so, then maybe it is... so why are you here? You haven't answered my question Azrael"

"... I'm here because i would like to inquire about the report i made to you about a month ago regarding the demon who was controlling the scene from behind... did that issue been taken care off?"

Hearing his question, Asagi remembered his report regarding the presence of demons during the attack of the Cryophoenix towards the city of Avalon. To think that such devastating event which almost cost her life was being orchestrated by a demon, Asagi just couldn't help it but feel a slight hatred towards the opposing race.

In fact the moment she almost lost her life, she knew that the demons had already gone to far. After all her being in danger only signifies that the event or catastrophe was not a simple thing as it may seem. Such simple event may lead to an issue which could endanger  million of lives.

"I do agree with you, the demons have gone way too far in this one, but this thing cant be handled that easily Azrael... this could involve us into something bigger"

"Bigger? What's bigger issue than us hunting down this lesser creatures who lurks in the dark?" asked by Azrael as he leans on his scythe

"The bigger issue here is that this could lead to war.... not only us angels against demons, but an even greater scale which could involve the whole world... basically yet a world war" answered by Asagi

When Azrael heard her words, he then stayed silent for a bit as he knew that a war involving the whole world means that a huge catastrophe was heading their way. A battle which involved million of lives and the survival of a race. If this was only a simple hunt, Azrael himself could do the job alone independently, but now that the whole world is possibly involved in this war, then it is a different matter altogether.

But before he could even speak up, Asagi quickly spoke out once more as she reassured Azrael.

"I've already said this once before Azrael but i will say it again, there is a time for everything, and now is not the time for us to let loose.... we need to prepare for the inevitable, that is the reason why i'm growing my power day by day"

 "Understood your majesty"

Following that Asagi opened up her system once more as she saw her accumulated credits rising fast once more as merchants slowly comes back to her kingdom due to having n appropriate climate for trade. Now that it is warm, some of the merchants would be able to sell their own product unhindered by the weather of the kingdom.

With this she had accumulated a total of about 78,000 credits in just one month and once the mining in the mountain starts for minerals, she would then have additional profit at hand when dealing with the increasing amount of credits she could use to summon some archangels.

Looking at the required amount of credit for the summoning which is 75,000 credits, Asagi then took a deep breath before she clicked unto the system and summon another one of the archangel into this world which will further increase her military strength.

With a sudden burst of light, the surrounding air became thick as Azrael's hood came off due to the strong wind and the twins hiding behind Ariel in protection from the blinding light. At the same time all the archangels noticed the sudden change in the atmosphere in the castle's throne room as they all realized that they're queen was summoning yet another archangel into this world..

Soon after a slim blind folded short black haired archangel appeared before them, with its white wings that are nearly transparent in comparison to other archangels. He wore lighter clothes in comparison to other archangel and only has a sharp gauntlet and iron pointed boots donned as his armor and weapon combined.

However despite his seemingly normal appearance except for him being blindfolded, another rune law of power seemed to resonate with him just like Azrael and begun to force its way out of the system's hold and rush towards the new archangel.

In that moment the archangel opened up his mouth which is so elegant and majestic to the point that one would mistake him to be a ruler of some kingdom.

"Archangel Jophiel... i have answered your summons"

After Jophiel introduced himself, the rune law of soul jumped out of the system and circled around Jophiel. Despite being blindfolded, Jophiel seemed to be able to see and sense the floating rune law around him as if his sight was not being hindered. In fact he seemed somewhat amused at this rune law.

"What a cute little thing"

When Jophiel said that followed by him reaching out hit finger, the rune law quickly entered his body which gave him insights on what the rune law of soul is and even further amused Jophiel.

"Hmm... Interesting"

Upon seeing this Asagi couldn't help but feel like her summons keep getting weirder and stronger by each summon itself. After all with their presence alone, those rune law literally ignored the restrictions of the system and started to assimilate themselves to the summoned archangel as if it was their fate to be  merged.

If this goes on, Asagi could only imagine the future in which all of her archangels grow stronger beyond the control of the system.
