Chapter 142: Departure X Alliance
[City of Avalon]
A day has passed since the incident with the Cryophoenix, the supposed to be guardian beast of the northern continent, had attacked the city of mages. So after taking a long break from this incident and tending to their wounds, the people of the city then begun cleaning up the battlefield, as they shoved away piles of snow one after the other.
While taking out the snow, they then retrieved the dead bodies of their comrade, as they set it aside and plan for a group burial of brave souls who faced the danger of destruction. Naturally, there were mourns and grieves of the bereaved happening all over the city, but those left behind all knew the reason for their death, and hoped for a honorable burial. Of course such request was approved by the council itself and were now scheduled at a later date when everything is returned to the way it was.
Alongside the clean up of all the snow and dead bodies, some alchemist then begun to chip away the body of the humongous Cryophoenix, as they believed that its materials would be beneficial for the advancement of magic they have. Even though it may sound wrong since they seemed like desecrating the dead, but they need to do this, in order to avoid any problem in the future.
According to their recorded history, even though it only consist of few papers and really old document, whenever a creature of nature dies, one must do everything they have to dispose of the body. One can use magic to disintegrate it into dust, use melting poison, or even burning it in the span of 30 days. The reason for this is because it is stated in their record, that once a nature of beast dies and left alone, its body would either transform into two things throughout the course of nature.
Its corpse could either turn its burial area into a sacred ground, which is filled with high density of mana, or it could turn into a cursed land which could lead to a pandemic and plague that threatens the world. Even though such possibility is only has about 50% chance of happening, one can't just rely on luck in order to get the good part of a death of such a creature. Since there is also a 50% probability of turning the area around the city as a cursed land, the council itself then decided to dispose of the Cryophoenix body and turn it into materials, instead of waiting for that grim probability.
Everything was turned over and nothing was left out. Since the mages and alchemist of the city received its order to completely dispose of the Cryophoenix body, they then decided to instead use its dead body to turn into materials which could lead to advancement in magic. After all the Cryophoenix body has a high conductibility to mana and somewhat could withstand immense pressure from destructive magic. With such durable material, not one of them wants to miss out of getting apiece of the Cryophoenix and use it for their own research.
However there was one object that was left out and has been decided to be voluntarily given to Albion, such object was none other than the heart of the Cryophoenix that was now displayed on Albion's living room. The reason why this was given to Albion is because such an object was producing heat and has signs of life from the loud beating of its heart, which confused those who found it and somewhat scared to death.
Thus such object is now currently being displayed right in front of Albion, as he entertains Asagi who is currently sitting opposite of him and is drinking the warm tea, with Ariel on toe.
After the incident with the Cryophoenix, Asagi then instructed all the archangels and surviving angels to return to their post in her kingdom, while leaving out Ariel in order to serve as his guard. In the angel's departure, Amos also voluntarily went back with the group as he needed more time to recuperate since he is a human in comparison to his winged colleagues, together with Leon.
With that only Asagi and Ariel was left in the city, and is currently meeting up with Albion for one last time.
As for army of angels which has been reduced greatly, she was planning to make some more once she get back and raise its number to around 8,000, while assigning some men under their respective archangel. With that done, it was then time for Asagi to talk business with Albion.
"So how many died?" asked by Asagi
"My side? well based on the report, 27 mages and 13 alchemist... all of them died from drowning in the snow for too long, they were unable to resist the cold and died just like that" Answered by Albion
"I see..."
"No worries! its already been decided that we will held a funeral for the fallen at a later date"
After Albion said those words, he then looked over towards Asagi and asked.
"How about you? your injuries... i heard that your injuries were no joke at all... your body suffered from freezing below the temperature that a normal human could not handle... its a surprise that your able to talk to me now, when your supposed to be in bed and recuperating"
"What can i say? maybe because we have great healers amidst our group? or perhaps my immunity and will to survive is much greater than ordinary"
"You could say that, after all your not human"
".... That..."
When Asagi heard those words, she then hesitated whether to tell Albion that she was former human and had only been transported into this world in a body of her avatar in a game that she plays back on earth. However in the end, due to fear of being ostracized and stigmatized as crazy, she then held back her words, as she look over at the ice heart in Albion table, as as she plans to divert the topic elsewhere
"Yes... anyway that things... that's the Cryophoenix heart right?"
"Well as much as i would like to say that it is a heart... but this thing also act as an egg" answered by Albion
"Egg?'
"Yes egg, to put it in simple terms this heart-egg like thing harbors the next generation of a Cryophoenix... staying true to its name, this egg will serve as a medium in which the Cryophoenix would be reborn after its death... just like the tales of a phoenix which reborn as a new phoenix from its ashes... the Cryophoenix 's reincarnation undergoes an egg like state"
"I see... so basically once this hatches..."
"Yes a ne Cryophoenix will be born"
"And how long is its incubation period?"
"Oh not that long.... based on its myth... i believe that Cryophoenix are reborn three days after its death"
"Three days?"
"Yes"
"So like an ice bird version of Jesus"
"Who?"
Remembering the fact that such a person doesn't exist in this world, Asagi retracted her words, as she coughed in embarrassment and stayed silent while drinking some tea. After staying silent for long, Albion then leaned forward to pour some tea in both of their cups, as he then continued on the conversation.
"Well since you've accomplished what you had intended to do here, i'm guessing your going to leave for the east right?"
"That... Yeah"
"(Travel far o child chosen for this wretched fate, to the west far you go, to the yellow land of scorching sun, to the land land full of betrayals, schemes, and sin, to the land governed with iron fist. Find the wise, find the old, find the strong, it will lead you to the answer you seek. But do not be discouraged o child, temptations may find you, but you will reach your goal as long as you stay true to your will).... quite complicated orders if you tell me"
"You heard and even memorized that? how?"
"I have ears everywhere... plus i have magic, you shouldn't underestimate magic"
"I see"
"Be careful on your way there o young queen"
"You've been there?"
"Of course, but i must remind you... in comparison to the north wherein its inhabitants is cooperative and honest to a fault, you cannot let your guard down on the west... that land is full of treachery and schemes... if you ever let your guard down on that place, you will be swept up by their momentum and lose everything... that place is no joke at all, last time i went there, i almost got myself robbed of everything i owned"
"Sound's quite a dangerous place to me... how did you survive?"
"By being smart"
"Well i am quite a knowledgeable person"
"Being smart and being knowledgeable are two different things... one is using your brain to your advantage in order to prevent any unnecessary loss to your self, while the other only relies on wisdom given at hand... you need to be smart, not knowledgeable"
"I'll keep that in mind"
As Asagi said those words, Albion then looked towards her once more, as he got serious and stated a simple fact.
"Asagi! trust only yourself when you reach that land, do not blindly trust anyone who showed their goodwill to you.... to every goodwill shown to you upfront, there is always a malicious intent hiding behind it... heed my words and you'll be fine"
"I understand"
After hearing those words and staying silent for awhile while drinking tea, Asagi then finally stood up from her seat, as she then headed for the door in order to finally make her exit in this place and headed towards the west. But before she could even open the door, Albion then called out her name, as he asked one specific question he had in mind.
"Asagi!"
"......"
"Aren't you going to ask me any questions regarding that?"
"That?"
"The reason why i only used my magic to maintain the barrier and never helping out in taking down the Cryophoenix"
"... Nope! you must have your reasons... it's not my place to judged you"
Hearing that, Albion showed a slight smile on his lips as he replied.
"I see... anyway about the teleportation tower that we discussed a few days ago in order make a connection with you and the other kingdom's align and make it easier for trade... are you also going to make us handle the teleportation tower that you promised to give to those tribal mountains?"
Upon hearing that, Asagi then remembered the time after the meeting with the council, Albion had talked to her about the matters of the teleportation tower. After brief explanation on how beneficial the tower is and how will the security will be kept on both sides, Albion then agreed to establish the teleportation tower which caused an executive meeting to occur on the very next day.
In the end with the support from Albion and other members of the council who saw this opportunity as merit to their city, the establishment and construction of the teleportation tower was approved with multiple approvals from people high up in position and authority.
This time taking not that somewhat the mages seemed to know about the tower that will be established in the snow peak mountain range in the south, Asagi then smiled for a bit as she replied.
"My people are already underway of its construction, but if you want to make some few improvements on the tower itself, then you can do so as long as you inform the tribal chiefs in the south"
"I see... i will do so then"
"Right!"
"... Take care"
"... Thank you for everything, Albion"
"Goodbye Asagi"
With those words being said, Asagi finally opened the door as she went out and prepare for the departure of her whole kingdom to the west side of the world and completely leaving the northern continent itself.
About an hour later, Albion felt the mana presence of Asagi's kingdom leaving their city's airspace, as he realized that Asagi had now returned to her place and is currently underway to leave the northern continent itself.
Looking out at the window with a smile, Albion somehow felt that this new experience he had felt was somewhat exciting as he never felt so alive for so long. Asagi's presence had completely liven up his day, but everything has an end. However this end is not a true end, but rather an end which will lead to new beginning. He believe that he would be able to meet her again and perhaps this can happen a lot sooner than anyone's think.
"Goodbye queen of angels.... may fate always guide you"\

[Azure Kingdom]
Meanwhile as the kingdom was slowly leaving the cold northern continent of ice and snow, Anna and Lloyd was roaming around the castle, as they went into the long hallway and arrive at the door in this inconspicuous space in the castle. Apparently this inconspicuous space held the room where it is most hidden by Asagi towards her people and even servants who served her truly.
This room itself held two living souls within, as this was the room of the two unborn baby that Asagi had adopted or better yet taken from their real mother's that had experience such cruel fate in the hands of savage barbarians. With the help of Ariel's magic and Asagi's magic, they were able top change the unborn children's body composition and even altered their genes to be able to live among them.
Basically they have replaced the 75% of the children's DNA, as they left out important aspect such as humanity and strength of those said people. With that this children would be able to live normally and somewhat mix in with the crowd that are living in this kingdom in the sky.
This time both Lloyd and Anna was planning to visit the room of those unborn children, and observe the sphere of light that was silently floating in the room itself. Even though they still wouldn't be able to see those unborn children yet since they are still at the size of a small cell, both of them knew what was inside the sphere of light, as king some angels who were with Asagi during that specific time of her descent.
Basically what the sphere held was the future young masters that they will serve in the future, so it is only right that they would be able to witness such a thing.
With that, they then opened the door and went inside in full glee and hopes to observe the sphere of light for a bout few minutes. But the moment they entered the room, they were surprised by what they witnessed, as they saw a two small object in the size of their small palm inside the sphere of light. What's more this two objects were beating, as if indicating that they were alive.
Even thought they still don't look like humans in this state, both Anna and Lloyd had seen a miracle , which they never expected to see. The two unborn children had finally taken form.
