Chapter 133: The Council of Avalon III
[City of Avalon]
Core, it is the part of something that is central to its existence or character. In this case the core itself that was mentioned is attached to an inanimate object which served as it central function which power up and systemized the inanimate object itself. The core itself is what makes Asagi's kingdom float in the sky and rise way beyond the clouds.
The core itself is the fundamental power source of the floating kingdom. Since it is the most fundamental thing of the Azure Kingdom, Asagi placed a heavily defended system circulating around the core itself in case of intruder emergency. If one was smart enough, the only tactic can one use to fight against the kingdom of angels was to take down the core itself which would kill a huge tantamount of people in just one fall.
Based on the height in which the kingdom was hovering, one can even declare that the death percentage of such fall is guaranteed 99% to 100% with 0% to 1% chance of surviving. With such percentage, the core itself is the bane of the kingdom in the sky which served as the sword Damocles which could turn itself against its user or host.
In order to ensure that the kingdom could stay afloat for a long time, Asagi would send to a tantamount of 2 archangels and 100 angels to charge the core every month and let them offer their whole mana tank towards the core. Once the said archangel and angels depleted their tank, they would be inactive for a day, which would then warrant them a couple days of rest. Additionally with such scale of offering, such amount of mana offered could make the whole kingdom itself stay afloat for about 3 months and accumulating if there are surplus.
"A core I see... that makes sense, after all a core is needed in any type of research artifact, whether it is a simple amulet or a golem... however one can only imagine just how big such a core is" said by Spriggan
"The core of a golem is already big to that point that it is half of the size of a normal human, just imagining such a core with an object so big u-p above the clouds would be unimaginable" said by Shale
"Since you've talked about talked about the core, i believe you've seen for yourself o majesty of a floating kingdom? can you tell us just how big it is?" asked by Brunch
"Well i cant give you an exact amount of its size since i'm not that really good in computation, but all i can say is that the core is so huge and wide that it would literally take me an hour just to make a full circle around it" answered by Asagi
"That big?" asked by Albion in surprise since he was also shocked by such scale
Alongside Albion, the other Archmage and grand alchemist were also shocked silly as they cant even comment on the sheer scale of the core.
"Well i might be a little bit exaggerating but based on my perception, yeah!"
Hearing her response, the other people in the room begun looking at each other as
"Well now that you've said, i cant help but get curious on what your kingdom's core actually looks like, is there perhaps a chance in where we could visit the core?" asked by Hanson
Upon hearing that, Asagi couldn't help but almost blurt out how grateful she would be if some powerful mages and alchemist would come and visit her kingdom. After all ever since she started her RPG games back on earth, she was always find of magic, which resulted to her often times picking a magician class and advance it to an even higher tier to be eligible to learn high tier magic.
Since alchemist and mages are almost identical to their way of life, she subconsciously put two different class in the same category itself. Withy it, such visitation would be like an honor for her. However in the middle of that thought she then remembered how important the core is and how much important it is to protect it no matter the circumstances or cost. With such thought the confidentiality of the core must be strictly kept no matter what anyone says.
Thinking that the safety of her people is at the palm of her hands, Asagi then swallowed her excitement as she then replied in a stern voice.
"Sad to say i cant grant that"
"???"
"The core itself held a lot of importance for my kingdom and my people's safety, meaning such a thing should be highly protected and classified for the safety of my people... me telling the council about the core in my kingdom is already a consideration for the title and authority you guys had, anything beyond this scope is highly restricted so i advise for you guys to abandon such thoughts"
"I see... well i agree that we would be overstepping our boundaries if we ever persist, looks like a lot of people here forgot about it due to the heat of the moment, i would like to ask for some forgiveness in that part" said by Belfast
"I am not that akin to holding some grudges, so if you would like to make such matter as bygone, then i would adhere to it"
"I'm thankful for it"
"Don't worry about it"
As Belfast apologized in everyone's behalf, Albion then looked elsewhere as he was somewhat ashamed of such an act that everyone had displayed earlier. After all he was also one of the people who are expecting to see the core of the kingdom in the sky and examine its function. Since he was among such people, he could not refute anything that Belfast had said and couldn't help but shy away in embarrassment.
"Alright! now lets move on to the next topic at hand.... i believe everyone is curious on what the kingdom in the sky looks like? After all learning about another place so foreign to us must have spark some curiosity on you right? plus if were able to visit such place, it would somehow broaden our horizon and learn new thing.... this is much more beneficial for you people since everyone her aside from me and our guest are a bunch of introverts who likes to stay cooped up in their own tower and never come out if necessary"
Hearing Albion's words, all the Archmage and the grand alchemist diverted their eyes elsewhere as they somehow felt ashamed of that one fact. After all there were no lies in his words and all of them are closely attached to the category of a shut in introvert.
"So your majesty! can you tell us what your kingdom looks like? and just where have you been before going to this place, in fact I'm pretty curious myself" said by Albion
"Well all i can say is that my kingdom is actually quite ordinary" answered by Asagi
"Oh please! don't humble yourself in front of us, nothing in you kingdom looks ordinary, it's structure alone already speaks its volume" said by Albion
"Well aside from floating in the sky with a determined speed, the kingdom itself is quite ordinary... the only difference it is in comparison to other kingdom, is that its territory and government is somewhere around an infant stage" explained by Asagi
"What do you mean infant stage? are you telling us that your kingdom is newly built?' asked by Belfast
"It is both yes and no"
"???"
"Even though the kingdom existed for far longer than before, it is only recent that we allowed ordinary humans to enter in my kingdom and settle there as a formal residents itself" said by Asagi
"Wait! humans? ordinary? not mages or any specific type of people?" asked by Coral
"Yes! ordinary humans, hu7mans that are sometimes capable of magic and sometimes not, humans that lived a hard life in the slums in order to try and alleviate its status... basically those type of humans... well there are proper humans, but most of my residents are people who came from the slums and migrated to my kingdom with the hope of alleviating their hardship in life" answered by Asagi
Hearing her words, some of the Archmages were somewhat shocked and disappointed, while the grand alchemist begun talking among themselves. Clearly they were dissatisfied by something, as they all show different type of emotions which are mixed with regret and disappointment.
"Such a waste of potential! why would you do that?" said by Geneva
"I would've accepted it if it were a special type of human, but citizens that came from all types of life and much less such state? If you go on with this, your kingdom's future looks quite bleak" said by Cerebrus
"Don't mistake us! but we have nothing against humans..." commented by Kazzess
"Its just that with such a huge scope of different humans that came from kingdom that doesn't have a solid regime in terms of discipline, disharmony would often happen which could lead to downfall... If you take us for an example, the reason why we all got along without any conflict in this city is because all of us have a common goal, we are not like those disharmonized country" explained by Grey
In that notion, Asagi clearly understood where they stand their point, after all disharmony itself is one of the causes of a nation's downfall which affect the ecological value of a nation. Such a fact can be proven throughout the history of earth, and that is the reason why betrayals in the annals of history is quite apparent in every nation's downfall. Societies have historically experienced many transitions from harmony between nature and society to a crisis of disharmony.
There are many factors that contributes towards the causation of Social disharmony in a Society. The causes for this Social Disharmony is mainly economic in nature such as Unemployment, Poverty, Urbanization, Caste Discrimination, Gender In-equality and so on. This can be found in places that has all of humans in every walks of life, as such the more vary a country has in its citizens, the more it would cause disharmony with each other due to difference of beliefs, values, and practices.
"Well you wont have to worry about that for the current moment, all problems that will appear in the future must be solved by the future, what i need to fully put my focus on is to solve problem that currently existed right in front of me" said by Asagi
"She's right! there's no use in worrying over a problem that hasn't even existed yet, of course aside form catastrophic levels, any problems that roots out to something of our level, should be solved at an appropriate time. after all just like what they said, everything has it own time and purpose and the problem of the future must be left alone in the future.... plus its not like all the problem in future is set you know... future is something intangible it can always change so there is no point in predicting something that can change" supported by Albion
"Your right1" replied by Belfast and Spriggan
After that Asagi goes on to retell her journey from the very first day she had entered this world. Even though she omitted some information along the way as a form of highly classified secret, none of the people present dared to threaten her to tell everything under the guise of their curiosity, after all every single one of them knew that there are things that are not meant to be talked about.
They are wise people, not brute, they all know what's right from wrong, as they are also adult and figure heads. With that the meeting ended as smoothly as possible which literally took them half the day to discuss everything they had wanted to hear. In fact everyone was some satisfied by the conversation that their curiosity grow and expectants towards this country beyond the clouds.
In this sense, Albion himself asked for Asagi's permission to visit the kingdom himself. Of course Asagi welcomed the idea with open arms, however one would need to install a teleportation tower in this city ion order to freely go to the kingdom in the sky without traversing the land of the tribes which has its own tower currently under construction.
Upon hearing this, some of them begun to back away as they would need time to review such proposal. After all this city itself is quite special, due to that it isn't easy at all for some ordinary civilian to just enter the city itself. However if the tower is made in their city, all those exclusivity would be gone since a lot of places are connected towards such tower. With that they would need to review everything and establish some regulation before giving a go sign for the start of the project.
Luckily for them, Asagi wasn't planning at all to leave just yet, so they all have the time in their hands.
